“Wow- Amazing”

★★★★★

written by Warehams on 17/03/2013

We had an amazing holiday in Ecuador, Galapagos, and Peru- all arranged by Think Galapagos. [name removed] was meticulous with the organisation and with the benefit of her experiences of travelling with children and her husbands knowledge of both the boats and the climate around the Galapagos, we had the holiday of a lifetime. It went without a hitch ( and we had 5 weeks in South America) All their agents were at the airports to meet us and the guides we had in all 3 places could not be beaten. Knowledgable, friendly enthusiastic, and tailormade their tours to ensure we and our children had fun. I cannot recommend Think Galapagos enough.

“Individual tour arranged by Think Galapagos”

★★★★★

written by KathyHodgkinson on 15/03/2013

After experiencing a wonderful group trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos with Santiago we asked them to arrange an individual trip to Peru and Bolivia, with the added complication that we did not know exactly when we could start as we were awaiting the birth of a grandchild in Brazil. [name removed] took that problem in her stride and arranged a super trip for us, starting and ending in Rio, covering everything we had asked for and a few more things she recommended. The guides were extremely competent and helpful (especially when I had a bit of altitude sickness). Our guide in Peru, who was called Americo, was a fount of knowledge and his enthusiasm -in fact his passion- for his subject was infectious. It was a fantastic trip. Thank you, [name removed] . “Ecuador & Galapagos, then a year later Guatamala”

★★★★★

written by on 11/03/2013

With a maximum of 16 in the group we all got individual attention. Everything from the time the plane landed was looked after. Superb knowledgeable leader and local guides. All our wants looked after even when we were in remote places that most visitors do not even get to. Good local food organised for us. Even when my flight home was leaving 9 hours late those at home were quickly informed. Two of the best holidays I have ever had. Paul Parker

“ThinkGalapagos trip”

★★★★★

written by KBonGal on 08/03/2013

This was a 10 day trip comprising 8 days on the 'Angelito' and 2 days in Santa Cruz. Tha arrangements were complicated because of the addional stay at the end and also the need to get up to Manta quickly at the end. All arrangements worked smoothly and the boat and accommoation were exactly what was required. Highly recommended

“An amazing holiday”

★★★★★

written by BobandDaph on 06/03/2013

We booked with Think Galapagos after watching a presentation by Santiago where his passion for his home country and his knowledge of the wildlife of the islands was very evident. The preparation and planning prior to departure were excelent and message were answered promptly. We were able to extend our holiday by arriving a few days proir to the tour and again accommodation and arrangements were planned to suit our requirements. Everything just fell into place. The leaders and guides were extremely knowledgable and engaging, they are also very protective of the natural beauty of the environment and especially the wonderful wildlife. Arrangements were such that we were able to experience the wonders of the cloud forest and the Galapagos Islands without being rushed therefore making it a truely wonderful experience. This is an excellent company, the best we have ever travelled with, where personal contact makes all the difference. We would certainly recommend it to anyone wishing to travel to Ecuador and the Galapagos

“Thinking of visiting the Galapagos? Go to Think Galapagos ”

★★★★★

written by voirreyheath on 05/03/2013

We were recommended to use Think Galapagos, to plan our celebratory birthday trip, by friends who had previously traveled with them. It was a good move. [name removed]'s impeccable arrangements quickly found us the itinary of our choice on a most beautiful boat - the 'Cormorant'. Sixteen visitors, ten crew and an excellent naturalist/guide, huge cabins with a balcony and first class food. Travel around the islands is now very strictly controlled and monitored but nothing detracts from the magic of of their wildlife and the raw beauty of the Western islands where we chose to go, and where we snorkeled with Galapagos penguins flying along an underwater sea cliff like small blue rockets. I would have loved to see more of Fernandina and climb one of Isabella's volcanos, but sadly none of this is available to regular tourists. Neither is visiting the Galapagos cheap. Since, for most people, it's going to be a one-off indulgence I'd recommend going for something as luxurious as the 'Cormorant' where living on board is an entirely pleasurable part of the whole trip. So back to Think Galapagos. This was effortless and stress-free travel at its best, all we had to do was book our flights and turn up at the airport. Magic!

“Iguanas, turtles & blue-footed boobies ”

★★★★★

written by ChrisandSylvia on 05/03/2013

This was our trip of a lifetime & [name removed] ensured that it was just perfect. Avoiding the possibility of altitude sickness at Quito meant that she organised our trip to start at Guayaquil, with a private city guide. The island cruise on catamaran Athala, with just 16 other travellers was excellent - with high quality food, comfort & service. Our guide was well informed & every island brought new delights. Snorkelling with the turtles, seals & cormorants was a highlight. We encountered far more bird & animal life than we had imagined possible. At the end of the week cruising, [name removed] suggested a few days downtime at the Finch Bay hotel - just right after all the activity of the island visits. Altogether, Think Galapagos gave us a very personal & knowlegeable service.

“"Think Galapagos" thought of everything!”

★★★★★

written by ValandHenry on 05/03/2013

We are Canadians who travelled with this British based company and cannot praise the trip too highly. The natural beauty of the Ecuador rainforests and the Galapagos Islands are well documented. Travelling with "Think Galapagos" made this the trip of a lifetime. There were no glitches, individual needs were met with real caring and professionalism. The local guides they used were very knowledgable and friendly. When visiting the various Galapagos Islands we seem to be able to linger longer on the beaches and while looking at wild life We were not rushed through as many other groups appear to have been. Our group had a variety of physical abilities and it was very impressive how the day trips were organised to make everyone feel satisfied and more.

“Think Galapagos - Excellent company providing...”

★★★★★

written by MaryKP on 04/03/2013

Last year after researching a number of companies for my trip I chose Think Galapagos as they were knowledgeable and very helpful to ensure that I made the most of my 'once in a lifetime' trip to the rain forest and Galapagos. As soon as I returned from that trip I was arranging the next one it was so good. Ten months later I was off again to the rain forest and Galapagos, different lodge and boat, and if anything even better that the first trip. On both occasions everyone involved, either with the booking or providing the services during the trip went above and beyond to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Your every need and wish is accomodated without fuss. For my second holiday I made some special requests which were arranged with enthusiasm, something that I would not have encountered from other companies. We saw so much from penguins and whales to scarlet macaws and Giant Anteaters. I cannot consider using any other company now for arranging my holidays.

“Amazing Experience”

★★★★★

written by sheilb on 03/03/2013

A huge thank you for a fabulous time. Each day brought new and wonderful sights and experiences. From the start exceptional care and attention was given to all the travel details. This was continued through the crew on board the boat. The islands are stunningly beautiful and were brought to life by the extensive knowledge of Santiago and Carlos on all aspects of the islands, their history, wild and plant life. The flexible approach and diligent efforts to ensure that everyone got to experience the best of the islands made it a trip full of highs. As someone travelling alone the friendliness and great organisation of you all gave me reassurance, relaxation and fun.

“Unforgetable well put together trip to an amazing place”

★★★★★

written by JanetnDave on 03/03/2013

We wanted to visit Galapagos and Quito as part of our round the world trip and Think Galapagos provided helpful advice and the perfect itinerary to fill the two week gap we had. All our queries were promptly dealt with and we were kept informed of everything relevant to our trip. Our flight from Miami was delayed and [name removed] was very helpful at sorting our airport transfer to ensure we were met in Quito even though we did not land until 3am, about 6 hours later than expected. Everything ran smoothly and we had a great time. All the accommodation recommended by [name removed] was perfect for us and we had no problems. I would recommend Think Galapagos to anyone thinking of going to Ecuador as they provided excellent personal service and nothing was too much trouble for them.

“I have wanted to visit the Galapagos Islands for a...”

written by hubertcurran on 03/03/2013

I have wanted to visit the Galapagos Islands for a very long time - since reading Darwin's "Voyage of the Beagle" in my late teens. When I came to the point of planning to go, I researched the possibilities thoroughly and talked to several people who had already been. 'Think Galapagos' came with a wonderful personal recommendation from a previous client and my contacts with them were dealt with promptly and comprehensively. I liked the idea that [name removed] was Ecuadorian and had spent many years on the islands, and that [name removed] was also an expert on Ecuador in her own right. The detail provided, the sensitive planning to meet my needs and the fact that [name removed] accompanied the group tour of the islands were all factors in my selection. It was a wonderful choice. The trip was well planned and sensitively executed. The choices were first class from the boat and crew to the locations and activities. I am not a morning person but I surprised myself by being bright-eyed and bushy tailed at unfeasably early hours in the expectation of each day. The briefing and debriefing sessions were pitched just enough to carry us through without overwhelming us with detail. [name removed]'s depth of knowledge and expertise were astonishing and on the very few occasions when we asked a question to which he did not have a ready answer, he researched it and returned with a reply. Everywhere we went, he was greeted with a warmth and enthusiasm that spoke volumes of his relationships with the Galapogeans. He treated all of us equally and was very aware of and sensitive to the need to ensure that each member of the party got the optimum experience from this remarkable place. His personality is warm and embracing and he has a sense of humour. This was most evident in his response to prolonged ribbing about the one weakness he exhibited on the trip - his consistent inability to recognise the source of the juice provided for breakfast each morning. After the islands, my partner and I visited Quito, the Napo Wildlife Centre and Zuleta Hacienda. Each element of this part of the trip came with a personal recommendation from [name removed], accompanied by detailed comments on her own knowledge and experience of each location. Again, the organisation was superb, the locations wonderful and each an experience in it's own right that would be difficuly to surpass. This was truly the "trip of a lifetime" for me. I cannot imagine that any other company could have surpassed the experience that 'Think Galapagos' created.

“Fantastic Galapagos great with "Think Galapagos"”

★★★★★

written by on 02/03/2013

An amazing adventure fulfilled all expectations. Superb organisation, excellent guides, interesting itinerary with lots of wonderful wildlife and snmall group that made an older solo lady traveller feel welcome and included all the way. Santiago of Think Galapagos knew his country well and shared his passion for it at every moment. Booking the trip made easier by [name removed] who answered all my questions giving reassurance and confidence. The Cloud Forest of Ecuador is, even for someone not knowledgeable about birds a thrilling experience, but the Galapagos Islands are truly unique. Our boat Tip Top 111 was comfortable, delicious food and all the crew so helpful, making daily excursion memorable and exciting. AS a lover of snorkelling I was not disappointed, particularly watching the turtles. Cannoing throught the mangro swamps was magical and watching giant tortoise in the woods, fur seals and iguanunas on the beach - a visual, moving feast. What more can I say - you must try it and see for yourself!

“An Incredible Trip”

★★★★★

written by AlanSmewing on 01/03/2013

The Galapagos is incredibly varied, from the black volcanic landscape of Fernandina, to the mangroves of Santiago and the mist shrouded highlands of Santa Cruz. Every day there was something different and each stop along the way had a different feel to the others. The opportunities to see wildlife were incredible, especially when most of the animals aren't really bothered by humans, so you can watch them just going about their business. It's difficult to describe how amazing the trip was, it almost seems like a dream, except we have the photos and a few souvenirs that prove it was real. A good camera is a must on a trip like this and we were glad we took one each and a separate underwater camera, so that we missed nothing. We've got many memories that will stay with us forever like: - swimming with the fur seals and the green sea turtles, - seeing the giant tortoises up close and even one hatching, - being able to snorkel virtually everyday, which resulted in some great shark sightings. The boat whilst being cosy, allowed for a family like atmosphere, with the crew being extremely helpful, friendly and always on hand for whatever we needed. The Hotels were just as comfortable as the boat, but well placed for extra wildlife viewing, with some unexpected bird visitors for breakfast. All in all a fantastic holiday, that was brilliantly paced to allow you time to absorb it all. Having Santiago on hand to explain what we were seeing, definitely enhances the experience. Santiago's knowledge, enthusiasm and patience, enabled us to see as much as was possible but yet still do everything that each person on the trip wanted, without feeling rushed to see the next bit.

“Well Organised Brilliant Trip”

★★★★★

written by Simon_W on 28/02/2013

A trip to the Galapagos had been my wife's ambition since she heard about the islands as a child, so it had to be special. After our initial investigations we were fortunately directed to THINK Galapagos to organise our trip. [name removed]'s knowledge and experience was extremely helpful in identifying the best combination of options we could fit in the time we had available. We started with a trip to Napo Lodge and a chance to see the amazing Amazon Jungle, then on to the Galapagos where she had selected us a great boat, botanist and itinerary which when you are out there you realise are vital. It was our own genuine David Attenborough experience. To finish we had a few days at a glorious Hacienda in the Andes miles from anywhere but fantastic care, attention, food and horse riding that were all to die for. Our 8 & 9 year old children had a great time being able to take horses out for half day trips and riding on western saddles. These elements were linked with short stops in Quito and the organisation, accommodation and transfers always ran smoothly and were of good quality. We have amazing and happy memories of this trip that will be with us for the rest of our lives.

“Andes to Amazon & the Galapagos Islands-17th May -1st...”

★★★★★

written by MauraB on 28/02/2013

Truly the trip of a lifetime! From the moment of arrival in Quito till the day of departure at Guayaquil airport, the organisation was so efficient and the welcome genuinely warm. The experience of travelling in a paddle canoe through the Rain Forest with local guides pointing out the wildlife was amazing - a word I would use for every day of the trip. We stayed in the Napo Wildlife Centre, a wonderful remote settlement in the Amazon Jungle that can only be reached by canoe. The Galapagos Islands were even more spectacular than I had ever imagined. We walked within touching distance of birds like the albatross, stepped over sea lions on the beaches or moved to avoid huge iguanas in our path. A daily briefing by our guides made the island walks all the more enjoyable. Accommodation on the yacht was excellent, as was the food and the crew was first class. Our group leader and organiser, a native of Ecuador, has made this a spectacular trip. I would not hesitate to recommend 'Think Galapagos' to anyone considering a holiday in Ecuador and the Galapagos. For single travellers it is worth noting that the extra fee is minimal compared to the huge single supplement of other agents I had checked out.

“Galapagos and Cloud Forest”

★★★★★

written by lroutt on 28/02/2013

My wife and I traveled with three other friends to Ecuador to visit the Galapagos Islands with side trips to the cloud forest (before the Islands) and to the town of Otavalo (after the Islands). My expectations were exceeded in every aspect. Even a potential disaster when the boat the guide had chartered developed problems just before our arrival turned into a very positive experience. The guide worked hard to provide us with a vastly upgraded ship at no extra cost to us. The crew and guides worked hard to provide us with an unforgetable experience. I would definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend their services.
