Unethical Business Practices
I called to cancel my wife's membership today, and was told that I must send the request (in writing) to your headquarters. I was then told that I would be charged a minimum of 2 more month's membership fees once the letter is received. While I can understand a minimum commitment requirement up front, I fail to see the reason which would require you to continue charging us after we have requested to terminate our membership and well after our initial agreement of 2 years has passed. I know that this charge was noted in the original contract, but I just can't understand how this fee can not be waived for a customer of over 4 years. What is the reason for this charge, and additionally the reason that you make it difficult to cancel the membership? Is it solely an effort to keep your "customers" paying at any cost? You have not temporarily lost a customer, you have permanently lost one, for $90. Great business decision...
Really People?
Seriously, I read all of the comments people post about their contracts and its really amusing to see just how stupid some people are. You have nobody but yourself to blame if you SIGN AND INITIAL a contract without having the common sense to read it. When I signed my contract not only did I read it over all by myself, but the girl who signed me up read all of the cancellation policy info to me as well as explaining the enhancement fee AND automatic renewal information. Even if she DIDNT explain it, I read it first! You initial less than a centimeter away from the paragraph that explains everything you're complaining about. Nobody was scamming you, or ripping you off, you're just mad because you were too dumb to read what you signed. The Oakland gym has awesome classes, BRAND NEW equipment, and yes, they got rid of spin...I admit, I was upset over it, but I was one of the handful (literally, 5 or LESS people) who faithfully showed up to the class....Had people showed up to the class that they claim to love so much, the owner wouldn't have had a reason to cancel it and sell the bikes...again, place blame where its deserved.

The worst customer service. PEGGY is an extremely RUDE person. They claimed that they did not received my letter requesting to cancel my membership and continued to charge for the next 3 months until i called the credit card company who advised me they have had numerous complaints about the gym and that they have elevated this to the Better Business Bureau. Never again!

This Is The Worst Gym That I Have Ever Been To, Th
this is the worst gym that i have ever been to, the front desk women, especially 'Michelle' is extremely rude, i had a problem with my billing due to THEIR poor billing management practices and they would give me an attitude and barely bothered to fix the problem. They have still not fixed the problem now i will have to change my account so they can't mess it with it whenever they want. Be extremely careful about signing their contract they do not bother to keep to their own contract. not only is the staff RUDE and unhelpful but the equipment is dirty and they clean while you are working out so the dust and chemical smell is all over the place while your trying to get a workout. if you don't leave on time they give you an attitude even if your about to leave! it is NOT worth the money, i have taken my business elsewhere where i am APPRECIATED AS A CUSTOMER and not treated RUDELY. Don't bother with this gym, never again.

I Will Not Be Renewing My Contract With These Peop
I will NOT be renewing my contract with these people, I find them to be very rude and also they did not keep with the original contract as it was written. I do not trust them and they did not bother to remedy or apoligize for THEIR mistake! Say bye bye because you people obviously don't know how to manage your own finances and keep a customer!
Read Every Word On The Contract Or Ask To Take It
Read every word on the contract or ask to take it home to look it over before signing it. They charge a yearly club enhancement fee of $25.00 which they deduct from your account without notifying you when they take it out. Which stinks if you are like most Americans who live paycheck to paycheck. Also when you move if you live within 25 mile of an affiliated gym you must go to that gym. That alone should make you not want to join. Who would want to go to a gym they didn't even see. If they do approve to cancel you they charge you 10% of the contract price and take that out without notifying you. But unless you send them your membership card the cancellation will be voided within 10 days of the notice you get after they deduct your account. How can they deduct money from you if they won't cancel the membership until they receive you membership card? This alone should make you not want to join the gym.
