Let me start off by saying this is in many respects a very good Phone, it has a nice bright big screen with decent colors and a good resolution, its nice and light and feels good to hold, is generally a nice bit of kit. Unfortunately, I've had to many issues with mine to credit it anymore then 2 stars. After owning it for a month, the main board burnt out meaning that it could not make or receive calls and was stuck in flightmode, credit to Vodafone for their fast diagnosis and repair under warranty. 4 months after owning the phone, the USB charging point broke, meaning the phone could not be charged, obviously yet another flaw with the design. I understand the USB point does take stress as you're forever pulling the cable out from it and pushing it in, however like with all my phones, I treat them very delicately with respect. Credit again to Vodafone for the fast diagnosis and repair under warranty. Other issues, the phone frequently freezes requiring a battery pull, I do not like the home switch button as it seems to enjoy putting me into voice mode when I've only pressed it once. The phone tends to lag as well ! Don't get me started on the battery life and charging time (very poor, even for a phone of this nature). Would I buy from Samsung again ? No. To many problems im afraid, a great phone potentially ruined by silly faults be it hardware or software.

Thanks for your comment Neilhutch.
The phone is genuine as it was purchased with my 18 month contract, and has been sent off to Samsung whom have also had a look at the phone. The USB charging point is like every electrical product, the Achilles heel because you're forever pulling and pushing it when you are putting the cable in to either sync with your laptop or charge from the mains.
I'm the same, I use this phone for internet more than I use my ipad 2 or laptop. I have no problems with using the internet, it's just like as I've stated in my review that there are other issues with the phone.
having just installed the new update, everything seems a lot more stable, although I've had to do a few battery pulls recently when the phone has crashed.
Im buying the new HTC phone next week mind (Qaud core processor), looks a fantastic bit of kit. Hopefully I will have more success then I have had with the S2.

Found a great deal on the galaxy s2 at contractphonedeal.co.uk, they had it with 10 months free line rental so initially thought it was too cheap to be true but got it delivered next day on orange for free and its been a dream since. great quality phone and nice informative site with lots of reviews on phones

I have owned this phone since it was released and I have to say WOW what a phone. It's easy to use if your a beginner but has all the features and functions you need if you want to go in more depth. The battery life could be better but then again if you have the latest update it helps a lot. Apps are endless and there are some really good one. I use my phone for everything. Messaging, SatNav, Pictures, Books, Videos and also if you want Phone Calls!! Pros: * Screen Quality is Amazing * Camera is clear * Videos are smooth * The list just goes on and on Cons: * Battery life will last a day if you use it like a phone, half a day if you use it like a computer and 2 - 3 days if you just look at it ;o) * A very few problems can arise after a update but a reboot to factory soon sorts it out, little hassle. Overall I love this phone and it does what you want. I managed to convince my work to give me one and others in the office. Also managed to convert 4+ people from iPhone to the more user friendly Galaxy S2!!

I agree with everything that SuzukiKev says. I had an iphone3 but when my contract was up I chose the Galaxy S2. I have an iPad so no need for 2 apple products... and could not be happier with the Samsung. So easy to use and great screen fantastic camera...I could rave about it all day..

I moved from Samsung to iPhone back to Samsung for the Galaxy Note and all I can say is I'm glad I did. Love it. Much more sophisticated, no need to plug it into a computer for updates or to add music to it. Absolutely superb!

I have the phone for a few month by now and would describe the Galaxy S2 as simply amazing. Absolutely no complaints, it is super light, thin, fast and has so much to offer with all those crazy Android Apps and Widgets out there in the Android Market (data plan required). Many people have complained about battery life but in my experience the Galaxy S2 battery can last a few days when not surfing or using the internet 24/7. By far the best smatphone available!

Love this phone. The system is so easy to use, and the screen is like silk. When I had to a use an HTC the other day it felt like a dinosaur in comparison. My husband has an Iphone, this is a million times better, he agrees with me and is very envious of my Samsung. :)

The Samsung Galaxy S II is the phone the Korean firm deems the successor to its best smartphone so far. And with a 1.2GHz processor, super-slim chassis and feather-light innards, it's easy to see why. The dual-core race is set to heat up massively over the next few months, with the LG Optimus 2X already released, and the Motorola Atrix, HTC Sensation and iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S all set to bring the tech to market too. Coming in at £35 a month and £519.99 SIM-free, the Galaxy S 2 isn't the cheapest phone out there by a long chalk – so let's see if it can match up to that larger price tag.

This phone is amazing. As far as look goes, it is *thin.* Like, 8.49 mm thin. A lot thinner than the iPhone 3G that I owned previously. Despite the fact that it's thin, the curved sides allow for easy gripping. The casing itself is plastic, so it feels less costly than other all-aluminum phones, but its absolute thinness prevents if from feeling low-cost. It is a classy phone.

I bought this phone after using a blackberry for 2 years. Great phone with great apps and looks really smart too. The only problem is the battery life which is very poor. I've had to charge it teice in one day and thats not good. I'm hoping they will bring out an improved battery as I love the phone itself.

why would anyone buy an iphone?!?! you have to be crazy! the galaxy does everything iphone does better, and has more features. for a start you are not limited by not being able to use flash, you have a usb port, you have a larger screen, you have millions of apps,,, and so on and on ..... this has to be the best phone on the market right now. well done Samsung..

This seems to have been a rogue model. I've had the SII for ten months now and it's great. How can you break the USB port? I have huge paws and am very clumsy and haven't broken anything. You are better off 'managing' your data use a bit - when at work or involved with something else, switch the data off; at home, I just plug it in beside me and switch the wi-fi on. I use it like a computer: Facebook, Twitter, Plants v Zombies etc and the Internet (quite a lot) along with my full collection of music on a 32 gig card. I love it and have just upgraded the OS to Android 4 (ICS) I got this phone for nothing as I have a contract (con-trick?) - but hey, I'm happy
