“Old but gold!”

written by AlenThompson on 21/02/2017

No matter Apple have released it's iPhone 7 model, their 4s is still great for me. I bought it second hand and it was in excellent conditions. Now I'm using it more than an year and it is as cool as it was in the beginning. No regrets for my choice. If I have to pick it again, I'll do it. It works with the latest iOS version and it is fast enough. If I had to change something, it would be the battery so it can have longer life. Fantastic model!

“Still just about small enough!”

I need a phone that will fit into my shirt pocket whilst doing everything I should be carrying a laptop to do. You have the widest choice of apps, access to iTunes and more functionality than any of its rivals. My only criticism is the short battery life. Ok I paid a price premium unlike its Samsung rivals it works three phones in two years one involving Lawyers. If cool is your thing do you want to buy a wannabe item or the real thing?

“Best phone I've ever had”

★★★★☆

written by Jenna_James on 28/05/2012

A phone is something that most of use everyday. Therefore having one that works is important. Every single one of my previous phones had flaws, whether it be sluggish performance or lacking in features. The iphone 4s is a great phone. I have used it now since the day it was released and am probably never going to get a new phone! One thing I like most is the processor speed. Never does it lag or have to think about what it's doing. Overall, a great product and a no-brainer now when it comes to buying mobile phones.

“iPhone 4S -- Remarkable Product”

★★★★☆

written by LogicalFAQ on 07/04/2012

The iPhone 4S has impressive features, a few of which are known to most people by now. Geared with Siri, a new digital personal assistant, an 8MP iSight Camera capable of 1080p HD recording, a grasping retina display with the colourful, crisp, clear images, and so much more. It certainly makes out to be a best selling phone. Siri, the new personal assistant, works without issues. You can schedule meetings, send text messages, make notes, etc, all with your voice. The tedium of all the manual works vanishes; Siri does all of that for you. Indeed, at times, it can completely go wrong and miss the whole point of what I'm saying in loud places. For the most part, it simply works out of the box. There's no hassle, no need to download additional features, etc. It's practical and fun, of course with all Siri's amusing responses! Before, many companies endeavoured to make such a brilliant product without failure and error. For the future of Siri, I can only see it getting more features and enhancements with all the speech requests improving the interpretation of specific dialects, accents and even languages! Though I have a few criticisms, here is my main one. The iPhone 4S does seem to have a reduced battery life in comparison to what I'm used to. There was a drop of 100 hours in standby time, which is rather notable. Yet, the iPhone 4S does compensate for its losses in certain places. If you're looking for your annual upgrade, I highly recommend the iPhone 4S. Overall, it depends on what kind of user you are. People with an iPhone 4 may want to wait for the iPhone 5 (or whatever it's going to be called) to be released with a new design... probably. Remember, Siri will not be exclusive to the iPhone 4S after the future models of the iPhone are released. In its entirety, the iPhone 4S still makes out to be a stunning product.

I paid a bomb for the iPhone 4S but I am satisfied with my purchase. It is another feather in Apple’s cap. It is highly functional and is high on visual appeal as well. You can use a bevy of apps and upgraded features.

“Best smartphone out - but has flaws”

★★★★☆

written by Rossy_Boy on 09/03/2012

I got this phone the FIRST day it come out - no I'm not sad I didn't queue for HOURS to get it, however I did take the morning off work to go to O2 and re-sign my contract. On reviewing my friend's phones (HTC & Blackberry mainly) I do believe the iPhone 4S is the best phone out there. I will outline the positives and negatives: Positives Siri - not as easy and quick as they illustrate in the adverts - but still a good tool. Only flaw is that you need the internet to use it and sometimes its quicker to just use your hand (I only use it to say "wake me up at 7am" to be honest). The screen - the screen is the best yet - amazing quality especially when viewing pictures with intricate detail. The camera - the camera in the iPhone 4S is second to none! It IS better than an average digital camera and I know dont need to take my camera out with me anywhere. The negatives Crashing - it still has its annoying tantrums sometimes when it decides to drop many calls and freeze for like 5 minutes. Battery Life - as with its predecessor, the battery life on this phone is poor - especially knowing it can do so much. If you're out for the day better take your charger with you.

“Great phone, but has flaws...”

★★★★☆

written by glenc on 08/03/2012

I upgraded from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 4s and I'd conclude that its not worth upgrading. That's not to say the iPhone 4S is a bad phone - far from it - it's a fantastic piece of hardware, held together with brilliant software. The biggest advantage of the iPhone 4S over the 4 is the camera (this is why I upgraded). The full HD video is brilliant and the camera lens is much improved - still work to do here by Apple, but its very good. Now on the less positives; battery life seems to be much worse than my iPhone 4 - it just suddenly seems to drop 10% - very odd and quite annoying. Next comes Siri. Siri, Siri, Siri....what on earth is all that about? Siri very rarely understands what I say, when it does I generally get told that the functions are not available in the UK - great. Trying to use Siri is a mind-numbingly annoying process and you're much, much better off using your fingers than using your mouth with the iPhone. Only time its come in handy was when driving and needing to reply to a text message - but realistically it could have waited, and having to tell Siri 6 or 7 times "I'll be back in 5 minutes" was pretty dull (and by the time Siri had actually sent the message, I was home anyway - so waste of time that was!) So - Siri - no. Pointless, poor UK functionality, doesnt understand what you say and when it does it can't do anything about it. Just switch it off. Camera - brilliant - can improve, but still, brilliant right now. Battery - Argh! - Why are they going backwards with battery life - most annoying. Speed of using the phone is excellent (That'll be the new processor) and everything else is great - just like the iPhone 4 I'd recommend it (apart from annoying Siri) - its a top piece of kit

“iPhone 4S review”

★★★★☆

written by on 23/12/2011

I can honestly say that the mobile has so many features and that are pretty advanced for smart phones in the market right now. The first thing 4S offers - it reads back text messages and lets you respond to them without taking your phone out of your pocket with a Bluetooth device, it gives you directions to places through the Google maps app, it looks up stuff online using the Safari web browser, it sets alarms for you and makes reminders for events all through voice control. While it does run off the 3G network and drains battery life of the phone it is a really fun feature of the phone. This means more storage space for my music, pictures and video. The camera is also an improvement over both the I phone 3gs and 4 models. It comes equipped with an 8 megapixel camera on the back with flash and a 5 megapixel camera on the front of the phone. The 8 mp camera takes amazing pictures especially for a phone. The video recording on the phone can also record at 1080p quality as well, another impressive aspect of the camera. The only downside of the phone is the battery life. The battery life is really the only little bit negative rest of all nice features.

“Just Brand Name”

★★★★☆

written by abhinavroyce on 19/12/2011

Late Mr. Steven Paul Jobs, former CEO, Apple Co. brought a upheaval by introducing his hi-tech and probably the only available branded touch phone of its time, the Apple iPhone. It went on to become world’s most eminent phone and was featured in the very famed Time magazine. Apple went on upgrading the features of the phone and thereby releasing a new version of the phone almost every year starting from 2007 till date. Undoubtedly it’s an incredible phone but now its esteem is just because of its brand name. In India, it’s seen in the hands of either the youths or the fans of Apple Co. But forthrightly speaking it’s just a status symbol. Its main feature being Siri, the voice recognition system, doesn’t work in India. This clearly means it has no major difference except to some extent the screen resolution, the camera and its Apple sharing feature, the iCloud. Even the advertisements of this phone just talk about two things, one being the 8 megapixel camera and the second one being iCloud. Being priced to around 40k at the very moment its proving worthy of it was dreamt of being. With many other phones in the market having better features are priced far less than that of “Mr. iPhone 4s”. Its best contenders can be Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia N8, Samsung Galaxy Note and many more. Moreover it has an average battery life that means the fear of your running out of battery always remains stuck in your head like baffling furtive. All the above said is not to dissuade one from buying this wonderful phone but it’s just to inform customers that before choosing this one impetuously do have a look at the shole range of phones available in the market.

“The latest and greatest?”

★★★★☆

written by dennispj2 on 24/10/2011

Had the new iPhone for just over a week (even using it to write this review!). Overall I feel it is a worthy upgrade from the iPhone 4. Reception appears to be slightly better. This is the only external difference between the two models. I tend to use my phone a lot so being able to switch quickly between apps using the dual core processor just makes everything more seamless. The new camera is much improved! Tested it out in. Some low lighting conditions over the weekend and it came up trumps! Had a play with the new voice activation software called Siri. Unfortunately I don't know all of the commands so it is proving to be more trouble than it is worth.
