Amazing Budget Android Phone

The Huawei Blaze is not an iPhone. It is not a Samsung Nexus S. It is not a phone that will cook your tea and do the washing up. It is an entry-level, budget-priced Android handset from Chinese manufacturer Huawei. Huawei? Who are we indeed. But enough with the crap jokes. Let's talk phones. The Huawei Blaze, as stated, is an Android-based touch screen phone that will do almost anything a normal person would want a mobile phone to do. It makes calls, takes pictures, allows you to surf the web, read emails, mess about with Google Maps and view Youtube videos. It'll also connect to the Android Market and let you download Angry Birds. Win.

Prior to owning this handset, I'd been struggling to do any of that stuff as Nokias from 1896 don't like connecting to the internet. The design of the Huawei Blaze doesn't give away the cheapness of the phone - it looks damn good. Better, even, than the Wildfire S. Granted, it's made of plastic, but this only makes the thing lighter and more inconspicuous in the jeans pocket. The touch-screen is super-sharp and hyper-responsive and because it's multi-touch, you can pinch-to-zoom to your heart's content. The version of Android it comes pre-loaded with (Gingerbread) is more than capable of fulfilling the needs of most users, and even though it doesn't have as many bells and whistles as some of the more expensive phones on the market, what you get for £69.99 is an absolute bargain.

The 3.2 megapixel camera is a bit dodgy, as is the front-facing VGA one, but that can be forgiven considering how well the Blaze does everything else. Also, the battery isn't as major a problem as many would lead you to believe - it'll easily last a full day of use...just charge it overnight and you'll be fine.

So, to surmise - the Huawei Blaze has many, many nice features. It's got 3G, WiFi, GPRS, GPS and Bluetooth. It has Android Gingerbread. It's got a proximity sensor, accelerometer, haptic feedback and tethering capability (but please check your tariff's terms & conditions before doing that!). Frankly, the Huawei Blaze offers amazing bang for buck.
