Fantastic Very Clean Site
Absolutely fantastic site, beautiful scenery set in a valley,no harsh winds weather seemed a lot warmer.
Five minutes walk from the beach and shops, restaurants.five star shower block, much better than we have a home and it's free, never had to wait more than a few minutes.
Laundry and washing up area very clean and loads of hot water.
Staff very knowledgeable and friendly.
Can't think of one bad thing to say

New Berry Valley Camp Site, Coombe Martin
i would never stay at this camp site again.
very expensive, but the grass surfaces are not flat enough (tilted, like sleeping on a hill!!!) so was an uncomfortable nights sleep. Also there were loud animals noises all night, apparently from the wolf farm that they keep...
also cars just drive straight past your tent, which i found worrying.
the toilet facilities you would expect to be amazing because of the new build facilities they have had put in. but there were no shampoo or soap dispensers provided, and the same applied to the laundry room, there were no dispensers for washing powers, etc. so although nice looking facilities, they were chocka block full of people, so be prepared to queue, and then be rushed out like a production line.
i also found the staff to be very miserable and militant! not relaxed at all. when they want you out, you better go (after they get your money)!
also the only view you have from this site is of other tents, cars and caravans, nothing glamorous like cliffs and rolling hills as the website suggests! don't expect a sea view!
and boring as hell to, there are no provisions for socializing whatsoever!
so this campsite is good if you like a militant army regimented feel, with no soap dispensers anywhere, a warden who is meant to be on at night but is not, have cars driving past your tent...
horrible experience, and never again.
there are plenty campsites a 2 min walk further from coombe martin, that i shall visit next time!
:(
What Can I Say? Martin Newberry Farm Is A Fantasti
What can I say? Martin Newberry Farm is a fantastic site for tents! We have been going there for 30 years but since the old owners left it's not the same our kids grew up with them. It is now too regimental!
Very Busy Bank Holiday. We Had A 5 Minute Walk To
VERY busy bank holiday. We had a 5 minute walk to the toilet block which was rather tired and old looking. The caravans closest to the toilet block all seemed vary close together with no views at all other than each other. Only one 'fun' area for kids consisting of a climbing frame and slide. They cannot guarantee which pitch you have so you are either lucky and away from the toilet block or not.
Visited Martin Newberry Farm In Combe Years Ago Be
Visited Martin Newberry Farm in Combe years ago before change of owner. Then it was good value for money. The village was better too, now there's not many shops and they close early. Other sites nearby have more facilities and cost less.
We Have Had Two Separate Holidays At Newberry Farm
We have had two separate holidays at Newberry Farm in Combe Martin, and enjoyed both immensely.
The site isn't too large, and the washing facilities are OK to good - we've seen better, but also a lot worse in our time!
Plenty of beaches to explore with almost immediate access to Combe Martin Bay
Much more sheltered and better positioned that the bleak looking sites at Watermouth Bay - you have some sort of buffer on at least one side to give you a sense of 'your pitch' rather than being in a sea of tents.
Martin Newberry Farm Is Set Out With Fairly Flat T
Martin Newberry Farm is set out with fairly flat terraces in a small sheltered valley with lovely views of the sea and at night its sometimes possible to see the twinkling lights of Wales in the distance. The site is family owned and on the whole they are a friendly bunch. Caravans, large tents and trailer tents are mostly pitched on the terraces and there is provision for back packers in 3 long fields near to the site entrance. There is a lake on site that has been stocked with a variety of fish and day tickets are available at extra cost. At our last visit it was noted that there appears to be a trend to discourage children but overall its in a great location being only a few minutes walk form the town and the beach. We will be back.
We thought we would give Newberry Farm another go this year and so I telephoned and talked to the new owner.
The tariff was very high and this put us off straight away especially as the person I talked to said that they were in the process of updating the toilets / showers but these would not be ready this year (2007). As other reviewers have mentioned there is not much else on site in the way of facilities and even the day ticket for fishing the lake is not discounted for campers.
The person I talked to said that the new owners are the people that own the Hidden Valley site the other side of Ilfracome, which is a reasonable site.
If this site does not offer more, and if the town is in decline as other reviewers have mentioned we probably wont be persuaded to return. Its a shame as its the best situated site for the town and beach.
