Mirnes78's review of Peugeot Satelis 125 Executive

“surprisingly powerful machine”

I was a little suspicious before i got him but now, there's smile all over my face. I'm 193 cm, 118 kg but Citystar coped surprisingly well. It pulls very well, engine is more like 250 ccm, enough power, I was able to reach 130 km/h according to speedo. Peugeot can maintain 90-100 km/h over long distance with no hassle. On a steep hills can go 70-80 km/h.

I drive a lot two-up with my wife. Together, we weight around 180 kg, traveling 80-85 km/h all day long if you wish, again, no problem, top speed two-up is around 115-120 km/h on straight, up hill 70 km/h with ease. Only if you go very very steep mountain twisty road, and you have to start from 20-30 km/h after sharp corner there's lack of power and you can manage to 40-50 km/h ( but really steep hill). If there's no passenger, it goes on the same road pretty quick. I can only imagine how fast it will be if driver is 70kg weight.
Now, fuel consumption, again, excellent. I drove 230 km when fuel tank reserve start flashing, after 3 km I start at the gas station and filled up 6.88 liters in tank. So it means 2.95 liters per 100 km !!! From those 230 km, over 100 km was with passenger. I was driving to my work and after work some rural roads chilling out. Moderate speeds. If you keep revs high, drive two up, lots of accelerating, lots of overtaking and travel often + 100 km/h or pushing to the limits up hills it will reach around 170 km before fuel reserve start flashing.
Brakes are excellent. I had 2001 Kawasaki zx600r ninja and 2005 Suzuki Gsxr 750 and belive me, I know what are good brakes.
Agility, cornering, stability are big plus to this scooter, stock tires (Michelin Pilot) are excellent on dry or wet roads. Driving twisty roads are pleasure.
Lights are good, seat position and ergonomics are excellent, mirrors excellent. Plenty of room under seat storage ( one full face helmet and one small jet helmet or one full face helmet, jacket, gloves, rainsuit and other small items)
Only negative so far is low wind protection, lot's of buffeting.

If you ride alone this is excellent choice even if you travel long distance, mountain roads or whatever. I have ride 180 km in one day, local roads and it was pleasure.
Even with passenger, in city, no steep hills, surprisingly quick and fast.
Only if you are going to ride it with passenger on mountain twisty steep roads then you better look for something else.
