What an absolutely awful experience! This school advertises on eslcafe.com for teachers. After working there I feel duty bound to warn you that the pay is low, the hours are long and tiring, there is no break time, the teaching and managment staff are personally mean to teachers and kids alike and the whole experience has left many teachers physically and emotionally exhausted once they make the good decision to leave. The ads for staff say that the staff are 'truly dedicated and caring' - they aren't and they don't. The esl teachers for the most part feel as though they should be a buffer between the kids and the Japanese staff as they are horrible to the children. The Australian 'principle', Keith Crotty, is just an awful bully who likes to yell at the kids until they cry (for not greeting him - he particularly likes to scare the 2 and 3 year olds as they can't verbally explain to their parents what made them afraid, so that he doesn't get into trouble, he just gets a power kick out of it), and has a reputation for - on numerous occasions - not paid his staff. The teachers work physically hard each day and are met with general dissaproval for everything they do. The parents of the children at this school are generally unhappy with the service given, yet still send their kids to the school, which defies logic. If a staff member mentions their legal right to pay and break time at most they will get fired, at least they will get their heads yelled off by said crazy Australian boss. Do yourselves a favour, stay well away!
