Absolutely useless. They constantly experience 'technical difficulties' when trying to open a new online account. I experienced this about 12 months ago when trying to open a bond so went elsewhere. This week I have been trying to open their new online saver (today their rate went up to 1.3%) but, again, technical difficulties with their server have meant I have not been able to open one. I called into my local PO branch and explained the situation and the chap told me that many people have experienced the same problem. I was advised to phone the PO online team and they would be able to open my new account and transfer funds from my existing PO Online account. I therefore spoke to a member of the online team but she said she could not help me because I had to open the account online! I repeated that their servers were experiencing technical difficulties so I could not do that and asked how I was to go about opening the account. She again told me to open the account online! She coughed when she was speaking to me so I knew that I was not speaking to a robot! Clearly she couldn't go off script and couldn't help me so I asked to speak to someone else - I was told that they were all busy. I am now moving all 4 of my accounts away from the Post Office and shall not be using or recommending them in the future. Note: I have been using IE as I am aware that Safari is not compatible with the PO IT systems.
