I was staying with family and needed my hair cut. Extremely worried as my hair is very difficult to manage. Headers was recommended to me. I was greeted in a friendly manner and as soon as settled a coffee was offered. Hair looked great when finished. Such a relaxing friendly salon. I am now living nearby and I am just about to call for my first regular appointment. Looking forward to seeing my unruly hair tamed once again.

This is the review I wrote on Google Reviews. However, they managed to have it deleted. Which possibly explains why they have 5 stars! I also received a text message, and a phone call (I hung up). Filthy brushes, matted with other people's hair. Pushed the nozzle of the hairdryer through my hair so it was in contact with the brush (The bristles were melted from the heat)! Cupboard doors falling off. It was an hour before they offered me anything to drink. When I was eventually offered one I was given a cup of disgusting instant coffee. Poor customer service Not impressed, and wouldn't recommend.

i can't beleive what i'm reading, i've been going to headers for 8 years now and i can honestly say every member of staff that work in the salon are honest and caring toward me, i have never met such a nice bunch of people to be around, there is nothing wrong with the coffee at all, in all my years of coming to the salon i've been offered a cup of coffee every time and i have never felt so comfortable in a salon like headers, this review seems to be the complete opposite of what headers are and offer, i highly recommend the salon as a five star salon

I completely agree ! Headers is one of the best salons I’ve ever been to and have had the best experiences. As for the coffee,I hqve no issue with it. It is a salon, not a coffee shop. Many people I have spoken with, also have no issue with the coffee. If you have an issue with instant coffee, then you had the option to bring your own. The staff at Headers are also very polite and friendly. The girls & Delvin take pride in being a lovely salon with a comfortable atmosphere. The salon is constantly tidy and the girls are so quick to clean their mess. I find this comment completely unfair and if you had a bad experience, then it must be down to you.

A very bad overall experience. Staff seem poorly trained and unable to offer any advise on styles, colours etc. My hair has been ruined by this salon I would not want anyone else to undergo the same awful experience that i have had to endure.I'm suprised at the number of negative reviews on here and maybe i should have carried out more research beforehand.

My hair is ruined !I recently had my hair lightened at Headers. I had never had any treatment on my hair before and it was in perfect condition. My hair was over bleached, and totally ruined. The colour turned out geeny yellow and my hair feels completely fried !!
Worst experience of a hairdresser ever. My hair is now completely dried out I cant wear it straight as it is so frizzy from how they treated my hair. What should have been a block colour turned out to be different colours/ patchy and awful. I went back to complain I was told it looked alright and wasn't that bad and was refused a refund.

I went to Headers for a foil highlights and a cut. I was disappointed with the old fashion salon which clearly hasnt had a penny spent on it in years. It was like stepping back in time (and not in a good way). The salon seemed almost smoky but that was due to the spray and chemicals I presume. I could hardly see the back of the salon. It was very loud and it was impossible to see the tiny little tv let alone hear it. My stylist was quite bitchy to the other girls especially the one who washed my hair. As I was leaving she was also bitchy to me as she said 'I love your fur jacket - I used to have one when they were in fashion!' Would I go again? Not even if you paid me. No car parking, old fashioned salon and bitchy stylist - how did they ever get 5 stars?

I have been visiting Headers International for the past 18 years. Everyone comments how nice my hair looks and asks where i have had it done whenever i get it cut.. I would definitely recommend this salon as a top salon to have your hair cut.

I was recommended by my friend to go and have my hair done at their branch in Neath. I wanted a complete restyle and new colour. I was a bit nervous, but all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. I told the stylist what I wanted done, and she talked it through thoroughly with me, and away she went. When I was done I looked completely different, and I absolutely love it.
I would recommend anyone to go there. I will certainly be going back in 6 weeks to have my hair done again.

I went to Headers International, as I had seen it recommended in a national hair style magazine. I asked for a cut which would make my fine hair look thicker and fuller. The way the blonde girl cut my hair was done so fast and without much thought. She did start talking initially and appeared friendly but then after a few minutes, she went very quiet and was silent for quite some time. Then when nearing the end of doing my hair she started talking again from where she had originally left off. I thought the hairdresser appeared to be preoccupied. I have to say this is the worst cut/blow dry I have had and since the cut, my hair is looking finer not thicker and fuller, as I had wanted. Definitely not worth the £30 and I will not be going back there again. Very disappointing when they promote the fact that their stylists are supposedly London trained.

I went to Headers International Neath Salon yesterday for a cut and blow dry. I asked for a trim and some soft layers to be cut into my hair. A blonde lady spent literally five minutes cutting my hair. She was so quick that I asked her if she had actually cut layers in. She said she would cut more layers in when it was dry. A girl came over and began to dry my hair so roughly that I was wincing. She did not look at me or speak to me and when I instigated conversation she just smiled and did not reply. When she had straightened my hair she went over to the blonde lady and whispered something to her; the blonde lady shook her head. The girl held up the mirror quickly at the back of my head to show me my haircut. As she put the mirror down, I picked it back up myself to look again at the back of my hair and to my horror I saw two black blobs going across the back of my light blonde hair. The fact that they were hoping I would not notice these blobs they created and the fact that they had whispered about them and were willing for me to walk out with these blobs on my hair without informing me was sly and deceptive. It appeared to be make up or hair dye from one of the styling tools but I was asked if I had been painting! They would not even admit that they had put these marks there. I had to wait a further 30 minutes while the girl put 'wipe out' on my hair. (This was suggested by the owner - not the blonde lady or the girl as they did not appear to know what to do). She did not wash the 'wipe out' out, just dabbed my hair with cotton wool and then straightened it again. The blonde lady did not cut any additional layers into my hair as she said she would but by this time I just wanted to leave. When I got home I looked at the back of my hair and it was wavy and sticking up; the layers look like they have been cut with a knife and fork.

I had the most awful experience of my whole life in this Headers International salon. I dyed my hair at home a couple of months ago and was unhappy at how dark it turned out. Since then, I wondered whether I should visit a salon and have it lightened. The trouble is that we don't have much money right now. My husband insisted that I 'treat myself' and get it properly done and so we set aside £50 maximum. I waited until my roots were grey and beginning to show and I made an appointment at what is supposed to be the best salon in Neath. I checked with them how much it would cost to lighten and trim my hair and was told £48.50, so I went ahead.
I turned up at the salon and explained fully how I wanted a lighter shade of brown. I was assured me that it wasn't a problem and someone went off to mix the colour. After this, a girl started putting colour on my roots. She said she would leave it on for half an hour and then comb it through to the ends for five minutes only. I had enjoyed the warmth of the salon at first as it was such a freezing, wintry day outside. To my intense annoyance, someone left the door open and a bitter wind started to blow in while every bit of warm air blew out. I couldn't believe that no one else seemed to notice! To my astonishment, I saw that a doorstop had actually been wedged against the door to stop it from closing! A few minutes later when the place was as cold as it was outside and I was shivering, a girl came back to the reception desk. I said to her, "Is that door open for a particular reason?" and she looked confused. I asked, "Why is that door open?" but she still didn't answer, just shrugged her shoulders. I felt myself getting angry (which is rare because I am normally endlessly patient - but not when I'm freezing to death!!) so I said, "Please would you shut it immediately because it's extremely cold". She said, "I'll have to go and ask someone about that" and disappeared. When she reappeared she grudgingly said, "Well, I've been told I can shut it for a few minutes but everyone else is too hot!" I found this astonishing. The salon had scarcely warmed up when someone opened the door again. I had to sit with wet dye on my head, extremely cold all over, and just tolerate it. I couldn't get up and leave.
Eventually the girl came back to comb the dye through to the ends. She said, "This is to stay on for five minutes" and she disappeared - for a quarter of an hour. When she returned, I asked if that would mean my hair would be too dark and she said it wouldn't matter as I was to have highlights put in. She led me over to a hand basin and said that another girl would wash out the first lot of dye. However, the 'other girl' was busy and didn't come to wash my hair for ten minutes. There was no communication - everyone was very off-hand. I started getting very worried about the dye staying on my hair so long. The whole reason that my hair turned out dark from my home-dyeing session was because I left it on for ten minutes longer than I should have done - and this dye was being left on for at least twenty minutes longer than it should have been!
While I was sitting waiting, it occurred to me that I would possibly be charged extra for highlights - I had initially been given a price of £48.50 for dyeing my hair and highlighting hadn't been mentioned then. Once my hair was washed, I asked the girl if she would check on the price for me. I could see by their faces that they were beginning to regard me as a 'difficult' customer. When she returned, she said that highlighting was (a lot) extra, so I immediately said I didn't want it. She then left me sitting there without a towel for another ten minutes, with cold water dripping down my back. My teeth were chattering with the cold. Finally, a different hairdresser came to trim my hair and blow it dry. She was brutal in the way she used the spiky brush, jabbing it into my head, and the heat from the hairdryer was far too hot against my head - it almost burnt me. She may have been like that with everyone but I was beginning to feel that, for some reason, I was singled out that day for spiteful behaviour!
I yearned to get out of there never to return EVER. If my hair had turned out how I wanted it to there would have been some consolation but it was even darker than before. I could have achieved a better effect by re-dyeing my hair with the £5 dye I'd used originally. I had to pay because I knew that if I refused they would say that putting highlights into my hair was the way they had intended to lighten it and I had declined because of cost, and I couldn't prove that the girl had left the dye on my hair for much too long. To add insult to injury, when I got home I discovered lots of dye on my skin around my hairline, which should have been wiped away, which I hadn't noticed in the salon. I could have wept (I did actually come perilously close to tears several times while I was in the salon). It was such a waste of nearly £50 for spoiling my hair! I will never return to that salon for any reason.

I found this review very helpful because...let's face it, some salons are treating customers in this way and no-one really likes to complain when it's a personal sevice as it invites bitchy back chat from the salon! I've been a victim of this sort of sloppy treatment there, and wish I'd said something....I think the Manager needs to get a grip there and closer supervision is in order.

In response to your review
1... if you had given the stylist chance to clean the brush before asking her to do so which may I add is always done prior to using
2... brush bristles we’re not melted as this is not possible due to the materials they are made out of!! granted they were in a ‘used’ condition but this is due to the particular brush specifically used to blow dry thick wavy/curly hair as straight as possible.
3.... cupboard door.. if u cared to ask why!! It’s due to a replacement hinge that we are waiting to receive
4... you was not asked if u would like a coffee straight away as 1.. you already had 1 which you went out to buy and entered the salon with! 2.... you also had a bottle of water.... 3..... when you were approached by a member of staff to consult a colour chart you replied with ‘ can you go away I want to make a phone call ‘
5.... as for disgusting instant coffee I do apologise it wasn’t perculated as we are a hair salon not a coffee shop and Also it was compleatly free of charge!
6.... lastly the stylist apologised for keeping you waiting and thanked you for your patience! It’s unfortunate that you never voiced your concerns opinions or views whilst on the premises..
