I spent about 15-20 minutes on the Talktalk website trying to register the fact that my wife are planning to move soon and asking what I needed to do to transfer my broadband. After twice reaching a dead end, I remembered I had a phone number to call, so dialled it. As I waited I started the online process for the third time. “Mandatory contract extended for another 18 minimum months”

No contact during the pandemic, no numbers or emails for help. I changed my home address and needed mandatory to start a new contract for 18 months again (I had 18 months contract on my old address, but a few months already passed). Additionally, the system automatically added an extra 5 pounds for high speed with no ability to remove it. “emergency move not catered for”

I have recently had to move into a care home as an emergency intake due to physical deterioration. The contact centres are closed due to COVID19 which is understandable however the "my account" move register only allows for pre notification of moves and i will be without a phone for two weeks. This is the only contact i have with my family in this current crisis. The on line chat system is no existant and the email system is rubbish. Due to the Covid-19 crisis I have had to move home in a very short period of time.  Within just 48 hours notice.  I need broadband to WFH and to close this service is risking my job and livelihood.  In addition your website is not good, I was only able to put a move out date in the future some 10 days in advance of todays date.  And a move in date some 2-3 weeks in the future. I moved out 2 days ago and there should be an option to input the correct date. 


I am now going to risk losing my job

You have my sympathy, but It's not just Talk-Talk who do this. I'm with Post Office (which uses BT lines) and they also made me wait forever before they gave me a new connection. As you said there should be an emergency service for exceptional circumstances beyond the users control. How difficult can it be? A few entries and deletions on the computers and flicking a switch or two at the exchange..

I need to move home at the moment and due to the corronavirus outbreak, i cannot get hold of anyone in the talk-talk Broadband. Generally they always had issues with getting in touch with them, but at the moment they have reached their worst customer service. In order to move my broadband to the new address, i had to do it online and my contract had to change directly from my current one ending on September to a 18-months fixed contract!! this is ridiculous. I am moving home and for the privilege this 'company' have bumped my monthly cost from 22.45 p/m to 26.95 p/m. I could have got the exact same speed from someone else for £6 less per month. Unfortunately, I was tied to an 18 mth contract and had no option but to stay with them or they would have charged and extortionate cost to disconnect. I placed an order on december that I was moving on the 5th of january and the service would have been by the 9th but there is no trace of my order and I've got no connection till the 24th thanks to talktalk!!
