Made Out Of Cola Cans

If you own the chituma 125 then you will regret it bad copy of honda cg125 & is so badly made so do yourself a favour & buy japenese if you want a well built bike & not a flimsy fake.

Hi , I’ve bought one could you tell me what order you press the gear change in to go up the gears ? Thanks

prebsikadetski

I have had a Jinlun 250-5 for 4 year and have had no problems what so ever.

Now I have a Chituma CTM 250-3 - and it runs just as good as the Jinlun 250 did!

I think you need to know what you are sitting on - it goes with having a motorcykel.

I have been on japanese bikes for over 15 years + another 6 years on japanese mopeds. The chinese bikes get the same care and attention as the japanese = good no problem running bike - period.

Obviously writen by someone who doesn`t own one or has a vested interest in flogging Jap stuff or perhaps even both!

Chituma Ctm 125

I bought my CTM125 in October 2011 and have ridden it daily throughout winter. Yes it does have its faults such as being prone to rust, and my centre stand sized solid which meant a visit to the bike shop. This is my first bike in over twenty years and I have had much fun with it, which is probably why I have notched up almost 3000 miles since October!!! The fuel economy is awsome (almost 100mpg which is why I sold my car to buy the bike0. top speed is a mere 65 - 69 mph and it has poor suspension (but then I am a big lad). I would recommend this bike to anyone out there - ps I also have issues with having to ride with the choke on.

Overloaded, Two Up And Thrashed Daily- No Problem.

Stop snivelling about these bikes. Ive had over 100 different bikes, large and small. We bought a second hand Chituma CTM 125 (2002) model purely for my girlfriend to pass her CBT on. I put a fresh battery on it and a new rear Pirelli tyre. But i ended up using it for commuting, taking trips when my bigger bikes were off the road and generally abusing around town or even doing novelty distance trips two up on the cheap.

Believe me i am no respecter of anything mechanical, and other than an oil change 1500 miles after buying it it has not missed a beat. It was even subjected to a 350 mile round trip from Arbroath in the North East of Scotland, over the steep roads of the Grampian mountains to Culloden battle field near Inverness and back loaded with camping gear, two up and the engine screaming all the way at the redline for the entire journey- but i still couldn't kill it.

Ok it isnt a YBR or a CBF but then again it cost 200 quid to buy and looks like new so long as you wash any road salt off and give it an occasional clean.A tankful lasts for ever no matter how it is abused, its certainly not Honda quality, the chrome is thin and the front drum brakes are like the original Honda CG from the 70's- -just 'adequate' but this bike is reliable and has passed two MOT's with no more than a new headlight bulb

If you have no problems with your self esteem or street cred and want cheap transport, very cheap to insure and run on a daily basis, especially around a city or town, you could spend three grand more and have a bike which will go no faster or do much anything better in the learner category- by the way they all rattle at the redline, then again so did the original CG. This bike has survived an ex-semi pro Motocrosser for over 4000 miles with no problems and little maintentance other than fitting an inline fuel filter(about three quid on E-bay and takes fiftteen seconds to fit and reqires no more skill than opening a tin of beans)These are bikes worth the bucks!!

Take It From Me I've Owned A Few Chinese Bikes. Do

Take it from me I've owned a few Chinese bikes. Do not buy this bike. It falls apart quickly and so fast it's actually dangerous to drive.

The ride is ok, but really basic things like rear wheel stabilisers begin to break very quickly mid riding. Rear brake lock while doing 40mph? All the time trouble. Clutch cables breaking after a couple of hundred miles.

Save yourself the bother. By a different Chinese bike and not Jinlun either.

So the bike is around 4 years old when you bought it.Seems as though you must be really unlucky as mine is ok-though rear spokes are a weak point- and has been owned since new;mine is 3 years old.Perhaps a previous owner/s had abused the bike before you got your hands on it?

I Colllected My New Era (chituma) Cg From Bolsover

I colllected my New Era (Chituma) CG from Bolsover after winning it on ebay for three hundred quid, and the folks there were friendly and helpful. I was even allowed to choose my own bike!

Good points: 120 mpg and dependable.

Bad points: On its third ignition switch, interesting handling(refer to tip below), the stator played up and blew the CDI (fitted the red race CDI and now pulls better!)

Tips: If the bike starts misfiring/cutting out and the carb's fine - check the stator, as it powers the CDI and eratic currant can blow it.

Regularly check the swing-arm bolt for tightness/excessive play.

The New Era/chituma Cg Should Last Well. At &poun

The New Era/Chituma CG should last well. At £300 it only has to last til its first MoT (3 years). I've covered mine in WD40 to stop it being eaten alive. I've also given it an oil-change at 250 miles and won't be taking it above 6000rpm until it reaches 1000km on the speedo. I'm surprised how well it handles considering the puny frame and liquorice tyres. Overall can recommend.

The Hongdou Chituma Is A Great Bike If You Want A

The Hongdou Chituma is a great bike if you want a dependable travel to work, great seat, very comfortable, not the quickest but for the money excellent stuff, stick to 55 on the dual carriage ways and your get great mileage, extremely cheap to run, pulls really well with a pillion passenger and reminds me very much of my old cd175.

My bike will start when I bump it. It will not kick up but when it's started it only goes like 5 mile an hour. Please help, what could the problem be?

Are the brake shoes on a Chituma 125 2005 and exact copy of the brake shoes on a Honda CG 125 2005? As I cant find any new brake shoes for my Chituma 125 so I might buy a Honda CG 125 brake shoe.
