The Motorola PEBL is a swish looking and feature packed mobile phone, and it is very comfortable to hold and use, but that's it.
If ever you need it to actually make a call or receive a call, then don't bother! The reception strength is extremely poor, and my battered 10 year old Nokia 5110 wipes the floor with it. Using the same Sim card, my Nokia had full signal strength - 5 bars, but the PEBL had one bar, and on a few occasions it had no signal at all.
Oh dear Moto, it's not really Hello is it? Try putting a decent aerial in it!

The smooth front on the Motorola PEBL mobile phone is nice, and the way you slip it up takes getting used to hold on to phone tight, as it flipped out of mine and my husbands hands when we did it, but once you get used to it it's great. There is hardly any memory! I uploaded a photo and 1 MP3, and the memory was virtually full. I couldn't even save a photo I took on the actual mobile.
Once again the Motorola has that little delay when doing anything on the phone. It's small, but once you notice it, it's so irritating. I had the same problem on my old Motorola (so I changed to a Samsung D500 - Brilliant phone), and my sons V3i also has it. It drives me mad. I also found texting a bit dodgy. The flat numbers on the phone make it weird to do, as you're not really pushing down on a button. Once again it has the horrible icon bar on the screen that it so ugly and stays a dull grey. It ruins any wallpaper you put on, as this bar stays on screen in front. You can't get rid of it; only move it to the left or right.
I was really looking forward to getting this phone, but I'm now waiting for Orange to send me a returns bag to send it back. I am probably going to stick to Samsung, as I had one and my daughter got one (E530), and they are fast and hold plenty of MP3's and photo's etc.

I decided to go for the Motorola PEBL as everyone was raving about how great it was and it looked pretty damn beautiful so I thought why not! I'm now on my second brand new handset within 3 weeks and am sending it back to Orange. The first handset froze on the very first day and continued to until it either a) decided to rectify itself or b) I took the battery out and loaded it up again. As mentioned by other users, it gets so dirty! I am constantly cleaning it, trying to remove smudges and such, which drives me insane!
The camera quality is, to be fair, excellent. Though with the particular handset I've had, it's possible to take a perfect picture....but when you store it and then return to look at said perfect picture - it is distorted and therefore rubbish...not sure if this is a fault significant to all PEBL's but has occurred on both different handsets I've had.
The flip action is pretty cool, though this fails to work on my second replacement (it only opens ever so slightly and i have to push it the rest of the way) and the danger of dropping it due to the sudden change in weight distribution is pretty high!
I'm returning to Nokia because I've been put off with Motorola - I think secretly I'm a Nokia girl at heart hence I find the Motorola menu and functions rather irritating and definitely slow - it takes a while for it to catch up to what you are doing, especially when texting!
I would recommend that you definitely try this phone before you buy, it seems to me that more effort has been spent on the design rather than the features.
I wonder if it skims across water....
