My Friend Had The Spv C500 Mobile Phone, And Has S
My friend had the SPV C500 mobile phone, and has since moved to the bigger SPV's. His girlfriend has the C550, and he suggested I went to the C600. I wasn't sure at first, but then I looked at all the web pages about it - reading its spec's and reviews. I then really wanted one; especially as I was due my upgrade, but I had to wait 3 weeks as it was late coming out. Orange rang me as soon as they had some in.
The phone is made by HTC which has many names (Qtek, iMate, T-Mobile, O2, Orange). HTC's brand in phones is getting stronger and stronger. HTC builds quality smartphones, from the small C600 to the larger Universal model. The C600 runs on Windows Mobile 5.0.
In the box there was the phone, the battery, the USB cable, software CD, charger, manuals, and hand free kit (wired, not bluetooth).
I've only had this for about 4 days so far, but I love it for all the reasons mentioned in the Good Points.
As I've mentioned, I have had this for 4 days. Usually, after the first exploration of the phone, the battery goes right down and lasts about 2 or 3 days, then starts working normally after that. I'm on my 4th day, and my battery is only half down! (You can see it in more detail in Power Management). This is the best battery life I've had in a while!
True, the camera isn't amazing now, as recently phones with 2MP or higher are being released. But I have a 5.0 mega-pixel camera for proper pictures!
The screen quality is so crisp and clear! The big screen really shows this off!
It's easy to use. I only needed to look at the manual to find out whats what, not how to use it.
Sync-ing to the PC wasn't hard using the USB cable. For putting songs on to your SPV it's just a matter of installing the software and dropping and dragging. As easy as my MP3 player.
Storage size can be a be limited, but its expandable. I don't need too much space because I've got an MP3 player for that, but it is nice to have a few clips/songs on the phone.
It's a small candy bar that will fit nicely into a pocket. It's a tad bigger than the size of my (female) palm, so quite small!
Everything about this SPV C600 is useful! Smart phones only for me now!
Sorry for the late reply, I hope you have sorted it.
because HTC (the people who make the Orange SPV handsets) aren't as common as a Nokia, they don't require a "quick fix" that their technicians can do. so with any network, they tell you to contact HTC yourself. however, then I had a HTC handset from Vodafone (VPA range) (with my orange sim in) they chased up HTC for me, but they didn't do this straight away.
keep trying!
I agree. The Orange SPV C600 is a nice mobile phone. I have had the C500. I liked the navigation bar on the 500 better than the joystick on the 600. I've had a problem [it's only now 9 months old] with the phone turning itself onto flight mode. I have to turn the phone off to get it to function correctly. I've been with Orange for 5 years plus. They don't want to know about the fault because the handset is over 6 months old!? (sale of goods act, as amended 2002). They say I have to contact HTC. Why? I bought it from Orange! Try contacting HTC! It's easier to contact the Pope! I thought the sale of goods act said that the guarantee of any product sold is with the seller (Orange). For this reason, I'm changing mobile phone company at the end of the contract. Orange are definitely not the cheapest for tariffs.
Summary - excellent phone - shame about the lack of customer service.
Oh and I've used msn msger, coz iv got a Try Orange World bundle, its better than i thought it would be!
Got a holder and a bluetooth headset now.
Got sounds and song on, good clear quality, can go quite loud. Better than i thought from a phone.
Got Sat Nav! Works a treat! Need to go and buy a car phone holder now.
