Been with boomerang for nearly 10 years now and I have never had any problems or issues with them. There catalog of games there postage times there customer service everything is 10/10. I literally can't fault these guys. I have saved thousands of pounds over the years from renting games rather then buying. I will continue to use boomerang for the forseeable future and I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of joining them.

“Didn't cancel my account, send me more games and...”

In May, I tried to cancel my account over the phone to a man named Joey, was told my account was cancelled. Received a game in June, called up to speak to Joey again who told me to just return the game, pretty annoying and inconvenient but whatever, returned the game by post. July comes, £10 is taken from my account, game is still on my account. Call up and speak to Joey again who says he hasn’t received the game about a month later?? tells me I was charged in June, I say I didn’t even realise I was charged in June to which he replies ‘perfect, so then we can just refund you for July then.’ What a shambles!! If someone cancels the account, MAKE SURE THE ACCOUNT IS CANCELLED so that you’re not sending them unwanted products and charging them?? I rarely leave bad reviews but you deserve a poor review in this instance. “Perfect”

“AN UTTERLY SHAMBOLIC SAD LITTLE COMPANY!!!”

Utterly Deplorable Service!!!! I had been a long standing member for 8 years of this shambolic company! Until recently I had not had any lost games on route to me and they had non lost on route back to them either but due to royal mails sketchy service especially since covid 19 a few games had got lost both ways. The ones I sent back always got receipts from post office but these clowns at boomerang where inadvertently blaming me?!? Its a royal mail issue but they dont care and penalise the customer for royal mails chronic service! Also to my dismay a few weeks ago I received my first damaged game in almost 200 received in 8 years! I reported it to boomerang immediately upon opening. I even sent them images how it reached me via email even though via webchat they were not bothered. I even went out of my way the same afternoon to return the disc to them for a replacement along with another game that was due to be returned as well. The working game they received next day and the damaged one the day after that however these unreal clowns at boomerang denied receiving the damaged game back even though in my rental history it clearly showed they received it?!? I even emailed them a screenshot proving this was back with them however it took me numerous emails after this and numerous webchats to get them to admit they had it back. 10 DAYS later they finally admit they had it back!!!! They never once apologised and admitted there poor quality control agent knowingly sent it me in a damaged state and caused me lots of hassle afterwards!! I made a complaint to them about this utterly chronic service. I had a right to do so after spending nearly £2500 in 8 years with them paying £29.99 a month for there largest monthly package deal! They then took it upon themselves to demand I return every other game in my collection from them on rent and told me due to a few lost games and a damaged game they were going to review my account and possibly close it so then put it in a suspended state!! UNREAL!!! All this when I the loyal customer had done nothing at all wrong what so ever!!!! How can I be to blame for a few lost games sent by royal mail and a damaged game reaching me??? These people at boomerang are utter cretins of society!!! I give them 8 years of business and they treat me in this deplorable manner!! So I sent all the games back to them and even got proof from post office. When they got them back the customer support manager who is absolutely useless and has no people skills what so ever insulted me by offering to leave my account open for 6 months on the lowest possible rental package at £10.99 with 1 game at a time per month when for 8 years prior to this I paid £29.99 a month for 4 games at a time per month!! I cannot believe these clowns can act like this especially a manager thinking this was a good solution?? So after all this I decided enough was enough and told them to stick the account where the sun doesn't shine and cancelled with immediate effect!! I am not giving these urchins another penny of my money and will spend my money elsewhere!!! Also I found out who there managing director was from a google search and it rattled them big time it was laughable!!! I requested a call from the director and also tried calling him myself but could not connect with him and also the so called customer support manager would not take my call either!! What a surprise from the little coward he is!! They obviously act like frightened little children who cower in a corner and pee there pants cause they cannot deal with criticism of there deplorable business they run!! To round things off I would strongly advise you avoid these gutter snipes at all cost as they would not know loyalty if it smacked them in the face!! Saddos!

“Boomerang is great if you like to pay money to...”

Boomerang is great if you like to pay money to constantly be waiting on games to turn up. They say they have a first class delivery system yet it takes them one day to recieve games I've sent back but over 5 days for them to send games out to you. How they can say this is first class is beyond me, considering it only takes a day for my games to get to you. When they are dispatching the games there is always a huge difference in them sending you games. I spent money to get a game and play it for a day or two then be waiting over a week to recieve my next game.

“Worse place ever to buy game ”

I bought my kid Minecraft game 3 nearly 4 weeks ago still not arrived . phoned twice said not in stock get on at retailers .. phoned again said they send me email when they post it . still not here worse customer service ever . They did not even sent me some sort of confirmation that I paid & ordered game no communication at all until I phoned them . Awful its a disgrace . would never shop here again.

“Not perfect but great for casual gamers”

I've been using Boomerang for about 4 and bit years. I'm a casual gamer, I don't fixate on one or a few games at one time and play them intensely. I tend to play finish, send on and so forth. To this end it's great, new games are generally easy to get, you have to be patient as there is a wait on new games but generally turn over is good. There are lots of long wait games in the more niche genres or older titles. A lot of JRPG games on the 3DS are in long wait lists so for those who like RPG's and handheld gaming will find their choices minimised. What I don't like: rental holidays. If I take a holiday halfway through a rental period I get no refund on the remaining days but Boomerang will want all games back ASAP. So it's in your favour to time holidays to be before you renew. That is really my main gripe with the service. If you wanna play the latest 1st gen games its great. Saves you money, no penalty on how long you have a game for etc. Lastly, I know they got hacked, my card details haven't been compromised so not everyone was affected, I know Boomerang handled it pretty badly but then every company has done so that's been hacked. It's very cheap service as well. I use priority 1 and I can get through 2 to 3 games depending on factors which would cost me over 60-70 pounds easy, so paying 11.99 I think is pretty sweet.

“Does not warn customers ”

I used boomerang for 5 years, unfortunately I had my card details stolen from there site. The worst thing about it ,they didn't warn me, I wouldn't of had nearly 700 pound stolen out of my account. I've never forgave them for this. That's worst customer service ever!!!!!!!!!

“STILL using the red/amber/green system”

Ive had two separate active periods with Boomerang the first was in about 2011 and its now almost 2016 and they are STILL using the same old traffic light system for games, you can make a list of 20 games in your 'pipeline' all well and good but if they are all 'red' then you will be waiting a hell of a long time, you only really get sent a 'green' game thats apparently low in demand, and I can promise you, at any one time, only about 20% of stock is green at any one time. They really have to do away with this and really commit to being the best, making sure they have enough copies of EVERYTHING and scrap the stupid light system so everyone can play everything whenever they want.

“Would Recommend!!”

I have had no issues with Boomerang Rentals at all, since registering with them a year ago. The newer games sometimes take a little while to be dispatched, but you get credited with points for waiting. These points can be used to get free months, or money off purchases. Great service all round with easy communication and great customer service. I would recommend to any gamers out there who don't want to spend £50+ on games that can be completed in 10 Hours or less.

“Do not use this service”

So this company runs awfully. Beginning of January they had reports of card details being stolen. 20 days later I had my card used, that was 20 days they could have warned customers to change details, instead they denied it was them. Over 1 month later, still can't find evidence it was their fault and only just let customers know that card details could have been compromised. They now keep trying to Bill my card (15 emails saying declined payment on my canceled card since 2am (it's now 1pm) however they won't let me cancel my account until I update my card details, so I'm sure I'll keep recieving these emails. Game availability was okay as long as you didn't want the most up to date games is about the only positive thing I have to say

“Very good, despite the recent incident”

I've found boomerang to be very good, despite the recent hacking incident. Overall the service is fine although communication can be lacking. Good selection of games and always seem to be in good condition. Only time I don't get a game right away is when I don't have it in my list a few days before its released, I have a priority account and so far it has kept it's promise. Take the bad reviews about the CC fraud as a reflection of a previous payment system, not the overall service, and, if they implement a more secure system all should be good again.

“Closed my account a year ago, yet now am getting O2...”

Closed my account a year ago, yet now am getting O2 debits on my debit card. Boomerang apparently got hacked and didnt even tell their customers. They shouldnt keep dormant account debit card details. HBOS told me hundreds of people have been defrauded in the last week yet boomerang are denying getting hacked.

So I've been using this service for about three months now and I've had good service but recently my card details got compromised and somebody tried to charge almost £1,000 to my credit card. I barely use my credit card so I narrowed it down to two sites I used (boomerang and a medical supplements company). I then find out that a lot of other boomerang users had similar issues the same week. Boomerang dismissed this as definitely not being from them and was most likely "by other means". Not even a promise to investigate it! After all of the complaints. Absolutely disgraceful.

“HORRIBLE!”

The games 'Got Sent out' but I never received them. Its been about a month and when the free subscription ran out, they just charged me even though I had told them about the delivery issue and requested a cancellation. Refund policies are outrageous as well. They will only refund me when I fill out their lost form. They should be re funding for the bad experience in the first instance itself and compensating if not for the poooooor experience I have had with them. FYi, I do receive all my deliveries so nothing wrong there. I would never recommend them. Plus if you want more trouble in your life just cause your bored, rent from these guys.

“Terrible customer service, constant problems with them.”

Been consistently battling with this company for a year. I have been with them since LOVEFILM withdrawn game rentals for their customers, I switched to Boomerang shortly after. The first few months were ok and had no problems with them. However, when a game goes missing in the post then Boomerang makes you wait 7 working days before they will accept the game as lost then they will insist on sending you a lost game form which you have to sign and return. You have to email Boomerang to contact them and report lost games, I have never tried phoning them so could not comment on that aspect but they take 2-3 working days to even acknowledge the email and reply. While this is going on, you lose valuable rental time and they do no reimburse you for it unless you demand it by emailing them but even then they only gave me a 2 week extension on my subscription which is pathetic. When I was with LOVEFILM, reporting lost/faulty games was instantaneously done by a few clicks on their website and they sent out the next rental immediately which I saw as great customer service and taking the stress out of the experience. You have to send the faulty game back to them but at least you'll get your next rental immediately after. I have pitched this idea to Boomerang on several occasions because they seem to welcome suggestions judging by what is said on their website, however my emails have been ignored. It's like they enjoy stressing out their customers and make them lose valuable rental time. I've only had 3 rentals go missing so far but 2 have happened consecutively and needless to say, it has been stressful. Boomerang do many things well but are a big let down when it comes to customer service and you have to have customer service otherwise you'll lose many subscribers in the long run. BRING BACK LOVEFILM!

Was a bit worried about using boomerang after reading reviews on h but i got an xbox one without any games so it seemed like a nobrainer with a free trial so i signed up put 3 games in my basket and the next day it had arrived, was well happy :) sent it back late yesterday got an email today sayin they had recieved it and my next game has been dispatched due to arive tomoro well happy :) all in all this site is great perfect communication. i dont understand the bad reviews on here DO NOT BE PUT OFF!!!
