When i put money onto the Caxton global card and transfer it into Thai baht how easy is it to transfer it in to Vietnam money ? And also how much do the ATM cash machines in Thailand charge

French Motorways will not accept a Caxton Card so we have to use either debit or Credit. This is a nuisance. Oherwise the card is good, easy to load up from abroad and simple for getting cash. only one drawback - the one above, that I can see.

As above load card before travelling and use it just like your bank card when you need to. Just don't be stupid enough to forget pin because they're customer services is limited so others have found. I'd recommend because it is a Visa card shops don't have any problems usually. I'm very happy and would recommend them.

I initially got a Caxton Global Traveller prepaid card (Stirling) for travelling to Cuba. I could not use any of my credit cards there because they are produced by US banks and I wanted all of my spending money on one card so I could budget. I called up the office and they quite rightly said to bring another card as back up just in case so I brought my debit card from Nationwide. However, I had no problems at all using the cashpoints in Cuba with my Caxton Card. The charges were minimal as well (conversion rates etc). I would recommend using the Caxton Card in Cuba, but make sure it is either the Stirling or Euro currency cards NOT the US dollar card because the charges will be much higher. My only issue is the charges when using the card in the UK. This is not entirely clear and I made some holiday purchases in the UK (books and toiletries) using the card only to find that I was charged £1.50 per transaction. It cost me £9 in total. I know I should have read the small print at the end of the day, but it would be nice if it was clearer.

Just spent three weeks in USA - Route 66 and National and State Parks - 35 dollar transactions worked fine. But beware, at some gas (petrol) stations the card payment was refused by the keypad machine and I had to resort to a bank credit card, on which I have had to pay 'non-sterling transaction fees' for each expenditure and presumably worse exchange rates. I had to top-up my card en-route, somewhere in Utah, via my smartphone, and the system worked perfectly. Lesson : Need to take a Credit Card, you cannot just rely on the Caxton fx card.

Used a Euro card for about 3 years now, initially I got it as a back up to normal cash and travellers cheques just to test it out. No problems at all using it (mainly Spain, Portugal and Malta) and I've never been charged for withdrawals. all my holiday money goes on the card now. Don't use it in shops etc only ATMs. I then got a secondary card for my wife which proved a good move because on my last trip to Tenerife I had my wallet containing my Caxton card and other bank/credit cards stolen. We still had access to our holiday money via the wife's Caxton card. Customer service were very helpful. Caxton exchange rates are always better than the high street and are comparable to those once abroad. I like the fact that everything can be done on line or even top up by text if you need to.

Went to America for 3 months and two of my friends and I got the American caxton cash card. Although it was very hit and miss using it in-store, it worked fine on any ATMs and was easy to top-up. Was definitely useful to have while out there and a had decent exchange rate. Would have rated it a 5 had we been able to use it in more stores.

The secondary card has been uses mainly in Malaysia over the past 3 months with no problems at all. A very good additional card...

The only thing I would change about my card is the minimum load of €150. I could budget and save regularly if the minimum load was lower. That said, it's a great card. No small print, you know exactly what you're getting and won't be hit with unexpected fees!

I applied for this card to use in US and I was very satisfied with the level of acceptance. However there are certain places and especially which are remote or on Interstate where the card was not recognized. Another surprising rejection took place at Walmart. But apart from these minor glitches the card work without any issues. In US, certain stores ask you whether you want to use it as a Debit or Credit. Always, use the Credit option. Also while withdrawing from the ATM you are asked to select from Current, Savings and Credit. Again, choose the Credit option. I didn't have to contact Customer Service for any reason hence cannot comment on its performance. Overall a very good substitute to carrying loads of currency or traveller cheques as long as you ensure that you do have spare cash for those occasional glitches.

Hi! We're really pleased that your experience with the Dollar Traveler card was on the whole a positive one. We're constantly working with Visa to increase the acceptance of our card and we are happy to say we've recently fixed the problems with acceptance at Walmart. Thanks for taking time to review us and thanks for using Caxton FX!

As a first time user of the Caxton FX Card I found the flexibility and wide acceptance of the Caxton card suited my needs to a tee. I felt safer not carrying cash abroad and given that I was in Europe for a 12 week period, having such a useful and powerful asset in my wallet made me feel at ease financially. The Caxton FX Card is totally under your control and helps you remain within budget at all times. Help was on hand at the end of a phone and in 12 weeks only had to use it once - my lack of understanding of the supermarket fuel charges - resolved in three minutes by Caxton staff. I mentioned not carrying a surplus of cash - but when I needed cash, all the cashline machines took the card and they spoke to me in English. I topped up and checked the balance weekly, maintaining my control. Well done Caxton.

Last year was the first time I used a currency card. We were planning a long trip to Europe. We chose two. One from the post office and Caxton. The Caxton card was excellent. Best exchange rates, easy loading even when abroad and a feeling of security that it would be replaced if lost and that our money was safe. Two things would improve the card as far as I am concerned: 1) To be able to load it with cash (this was the only reason we got the post office card). We bank online but we'd saved up some cash for our holidays in the months before the trip and wanted to load that on to the card. 2) It didn't work in French petrol station automated machines so we had to use our credit card to fill up with diesel. We're motorhomers so getting diesel is a big part of all our trips. Other than these two relatively small problems the card was brilliant and it has made a big difference to the way we manage our money abroad. Thank you Caxton!

I used to take my debit card when I went on holiday with my wife, then my friend recommended Caxton 2 years ago. I've saved a lot of money since using Caxton. They give you a good exchange rate and there's no ATM Fees like I got charged by my bank. Their customer service team is very impressive, prompt to resolve your query and very friendly too! Quite rare in this day and age where big companies only want to make a quick profit and nothing else. A refreshing change!

Pros : • Easy to load online or phone • Equivalent euro balance is displayed before you load • Free ATM withdrawal outside the UK (Euro currency countries only !) • Secure • VISA reliability • No monthly charges Cons : • None really except that they could be more competitive with exchange rates. • Poor customer service attitude over the telephone. After reading the reviews of travelmoney cards generally, I settled for the Caxton FX eurotraveller and I was not disappointed. Our 5-day trip to Italy in August 2012 was made easy with this card. While out and about in Florence, I had to load the card over the phone. Though, the process was smooth, the lady that dealt with me was not polite. Probably having a bad day. The VISA card was accepted at all the places we visited to eat or shop. Overall, I am happy it helped me keep to my budget. Now, I am planning a trip to Canada and I wished they had something similar to the Eurotraveller. The reviews I read about Cash Passport are too scary. Welldone Caxton.

Used the card in Ireland and found the whole process very easy. When I did speak with staff on phone prior to loading etc, they were very patient, friendly and helpful.

Over all very pleased card is super easy to use. Wasnt able to activate secondary card as just couldn't get the pin. Would also like to be able to transfer money back into bank online. However the card was accepted everywhere, shops restaurants and cash machines. It was easy to load and I would recommend it to anyone, I have already told family and friends about it. Will upgrade to worldwide card next time I travel outside Europe. So comforting not to carry cash everywhere.

I have just used the Caxton FX Euro currency card on holiday and found it to be great for accessing cash when required or as an alternative to using credit cards and paying a conversion charge. The only problem I experienced was leaving a worthwhile amount of money on the card at the end of the holiday. To my knowledge this balance would remain there as euros without any interest, and could not be transferred to my bank account which it originally came from. I therefore had to withdraw all the euros in my account at the end of the holiday. Due to their being a restriction on the amount you can withdraw at a time.I had to make various withdrawals from different bank throughout the day until an acceptable balance was left in the account for use in the next holiday. Have I misinterpreted the rules? If I am correct can improvements be made to make this card a must have for those who travel and are prepared to accept a reasonable return for the balance they have in credit.

I have used my caxton card in Brazil, Argentina and Italy without problems. I have never been charged at ATMs, it has felt a lot safer than carrying around cash and I could really monitor my spending. Last summer I had my first issue in Greece. Everything seemed to be going smoothly, but when I returned to Italy and tried to take out money I noticed that everything was gone! I thought it was an error on the system when the ATM machine notice told me I'd already taken out my daily allowance. I had not taken any money out for a week, so my boyfriend suggested my card had been cloned, naturally I freaked out! I went back to his house to check the transaction history, £10-£15 a day, sometimes twice a day, had been taken out of my account since Greece. These small withdrawals had been taken in Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Australia and various other exotic destinations... I rang up caxton immediately to freeze my card and they did so, within a week they had refunded me the £500 which had been taken from the card, though I had to return to using my debit card for the rest of the trip. I am about to start using it again in China... Since then I have been somewhat scared of using ATMs and guard my pin or try to enter the bank building to avoid hidden cameras and microchips. Caxton fx dealt with the problem efficiently and provided a lot of reassurance when I was in a panic. They refunded me without too many questions as it was obvious from the transaction list that I wasn't at fault. If it were my debit card, I doubt my bank would have been so sympathetic. All in all I have found the caxton fx global card safer, more flexible and less hassle. The staff are also very polite even when dealing with a tearful nonsensical customer on the other end.

Hi, We have a Motorhome and have been away in Europe before on extended, up to three months, holidays. We always took cash but worried continually that it may have been stolen when we went out for the day, even though we had a safe in the van. Then we heard about the Caxtonfx card on a Motorhome users forum. We signed up, with a very good exchange rate, and went back to Europe in the van to Portugal, via France and Spain. The Caxtonfx card was accepted every time we produced it in all the Countries at Supermarkets, Fuel stops, Restaurants and Cash points. We were able to keep track of spending with Caxtonfx receipts. When we returned, true to the advertising we had no additional charges or fees on our bank statement. Our only 'regret' is we did not know about Caxtonfx before. We will never go away with large amounts of Euros' again, will always rely on Caxton, we have only been away in Europe once since taking out the card, we just keep it topped up ready for the next trip. You do not have to be a Motorhome user, but if you go to Europe on holiday this is the way to keep your money safe. We have no connection to Caxton or its' Parent Company, we are just very satisfied customers.

Have just returned from Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong and used our Global Caxton Card everywhere. Absolutely fantastic asset and would never bother with travellers cards or carry currency again. Only slight niggle was not being able to see balance from ATMs. Will and in fact have, recommended to anyone travelling anywhere. What a brilliant idea - thank you.

Hi, i was just wondering why you chose this caxton global card specifically, im going travelling soon and looking around at the moment. Have you ever heard of Fairfx, its kind of the same but they charge £1 per atm withdrawal abroad so not sure why they charge but caxton does'nt. I hear there is a mark-up with caxton where as apparently these is'nt with Fairfx? Would love to get some input.
Thanks,
Nick
