Over all it's a great camera for the price. I sold mine to get a newer version of fuji, and I regret it. So if anyone is interested to sell there Fuji finepix 2800, I will be glade to buy it from you.

I stepped-up from a A101 to the Fuji Finepix 2800, both are great digital cameras, but the 2800 is exceptional for the price. I have three 16MB SmartMedia cards to go with it and I can shoot all day and edit quickly when I get home. One of the very best cameras and an ideal companion to my SLR
Can and do recommend it anyone.

Being a novice to taking digital pictures, i was amazed at this little package. The first thing that caught my attention about the Fuji Finepix 2800 Digital camera was the easy setup. After turning on the camera for the first time it asked for the date and time, no searching through pages of instructions to find out how to do this. The next thing that caught my attention was the handling of this camera, all the buttons where either at my finger tips, or could be operated with the thumb i found this to be really good as after a very short time i didn't have to keep checking if i was pressing the right button or not.
the 6x optical zoom was good, The macro for close shots was amazing,
power consumption on my first set of batteries was not good but the secound set have lasted longer so i'll put that down to the shelf life of the batteries.
the only bad points i have about this camera are:
when you press the button to take a pic, there is a delay untill the camera actually takes the pic. At first, my pics where coming out blured untill i got used to this delay.
when i erase or format the memory card the counter resets it's self to 000000. while this ok for the camera, you need to be careful and lable/tag all your pics as you could end up with a lot of pics with the same number and confussion will set in.
while taking a pic in dark places was hard and a hit or miss thing, harsh flash,
i dont use voice recording so no big deal there.
As i said at the beginning i am a complete novice to taking digital pics, But this little camera has me hooked, from the moment i picked it up and took my first picture. (i only have it a week)thumbs up a really amazing little camera.

I just recently purchased this Fuji Finepix 2800 digital camera for an excellent deal. It was marked down from $499 CAD to $299 CAD. I researched this camera on the 'net, and found it to be highly recommended.
I love the fact that this camera, although by no means large, is easy to hold. I don't like the other smaller is better cameras being sold. I would worry about dropping and losing the camera. This camera has a comfortable hand grip, and is quite sturdy.

For the quality minded person on a budget you CAN'T go wrong with this Fuji Finepix 2800. I'll admit it is a little older model however for the overall quality of photos, it compares right up there with the new models of today. 2.0 mega pix is all that is needed for fantastic clear/sharp photos to email or post on websites. You don't need to spend more money for higher pixels if emailing or posting is mostly what you'll do. It also will do wonderful photo quality prints up to 5x7 with a good photo quality printer and paper. Quality combined with price I'd say go for it! I did and am very happy.

I have had the Fuji Finepix 2800 digital camera for over 5 months and have been extremely pleased with it.
The one point I haven't seen mentioned is that the electonic viewer (eye piece) enables one to review pics without reading glasses - a great bonus in the field. One unexpected outcome was the ability to photograph maps and then view through eye piece without reading glasses while out walking!

I've only had the camera a few hours and I have found it incredibly easy to use and I'm amazed at the quality of images that I've taken so far. The 2MP is more than enough for what I wanted the camera for. My first digital camera was a Fuji 2200, which I still have and it has produced some really brilliant photos. My days of using a Canon EOS 500 SLR and Kodak films are well and truly over -I part exchanged this for the 2800 and its the best thing I did!
My only gripe is, that I find that the controls are slightly fiddly on the 2800 though, and the shape of the camera is taking some getting used to.
I spent several weeks reading through review after review and finally decided on the 2800 and I'm really happy I chose this and not the Minolta S304 which a local shop tried to sell me.
I paid £299 for my camera, the bundle included a 16mb card, but the store threw in a 64mb card for free.
The video mode is a nice feature to have, and it has sound too.
I haven't yet used all the features on the camera yet, but for the price, I am very pleased with it.
If you want a camera that is easy to use and produces excellent pictures, go out and buy it - you won't be disappointed!

As this Fuji Finepix 2800 was a first digital camera, I was expecting at least a week of learning and experimenting, however due to the clear instruction manual and simplicity of use I was up and running immediately.
Pictures are clear and easy to edit.
Great camera for the money.

This Fuji Finepix 2800 digital camera is a very good camera for the money. It is easy to use, especially for the beginner in the art of digital photography. The on-screen displays are very clear and the flash light is very powerful. You can point the camera at an object in a very dark room and it will take the photo perfectly. The only bug bear is that, for the money, they could supply a camera case which is a must to avoid any damage to the screen. You will need to buy a set of rechargeable batteries as the batteries can be used very quickly.

OVERALL, I JUST PURCHASED THE FUJI 2800 DIGITAL CAMERA AND AM EXTREMELY PLEASED. IT HAS A 6X OPTICAL ZOOM, ALL THE DIGITAL ZOOM IS JUST SOFTWARE MANIPULATION THAT YOU CAN DO ON YOUR COMPUTER LATER -- IF YOU DESIRE. I TOOK PICTURES OF CARS TRAVELING ON AN EXPRESSWAY AT 60+ MPH GOING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. OF THE SEVERAL I TOOK, WHEN I PRESSED THE BUTTON WHEN VEHICLE WAS AT THE CORNER OF THE FRAME ONE PICTURE SHOWED THE CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PICTURE. THIS IS LIKE TAKING PICTURES AT 120+ MPH, I WAS TRAVELLING ON A BUS. WHAT I CAN SAY, THIS IS FANTASTIC FOR A DIGITAL CAMERA. IT CAN TAKE 4 SHOTS IN SUCCESSION AND WRITE TO CARD IN 5 SECS. ---- WOW. THE ZOOM EXTENDS TO 228mm WHICH IS GREAT FOR HAND HOLDING. I WOULD GLADLY BUY THIS CAMERA AGAIN, IT EXCEEDS MY EXPECTATIONS. FOR NIGHT SHOTS, I MEAN LIKE CANDLE LIGHT OR NONE, YOU CAN TAKE SEVERAL SHOTS AND HAVE TO POINT THE CAMERA IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. BUY THE WAY, IT WAS $449.50 IN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS WITH A CARD READER, 128 MB SMART MEDIA CARD, 8 NIMH BATTERIES AND CHARGER AND A CASE. NOW HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG????
