Heineken

I had a six pack two days ago and I had the worstest hangover ever on only 2 beers. i threw the rest out. i cant think why NEone would still drink this stuff. the Dutch are cool people but this beer is bad. It's all brad pitt marketing and not enough taste. 1-10 would not drink again. too expensive.

My first impression of this lager was of a rather bland non-event, but after sampling a few of its competitors I'd have to concede that heineken is actually a very well-made beer with far more hop flavour and bite than I'd originally perceived. Not a world-beater, perhaps, but when stacked against some other dreary euro lagers it emerges as a strong player. Recommended.

I don't believe in metaphor's but Heineken lager is like a 2nd division football club, who has seen a billionaire chairmen take over and vastly improve the squad, subsequently promotion to the premiership football has now arrived for Heineken. I think Champions League is a step to far for Heineken, they are never going to be a Bud,Stella,Becks,Carling or Fosters are they?

There are a lot better alternatives to Heineken in Holland (Grolsch, Hertog Jan), but occasionally it's quite drinkable. I'd usually prefer other beers, although it's a lot better then some discount beers (Euroshopper, Import, Holger, Brouwmeester).

The flavour isn't really special, although in large quantities that hardly matters.

What can I say. After trying so many beer brands, Heineken beats them all. It has an unmistakable hobs flavour, a serious lager with refreshing taste, mild foam and fantastic look. I think the secret is in the yeast (strain "A") and the hobs quality. My favorite beer absolutely no doubt.
