Summary

Watch good old fashioned British Comedy as Rowan Atkinson plays a straight laced clergyman with family problems which can only be solved with the help of Maggie Smith - a nanny with a murderous glint in her eye! Keep your eyes open for a game Patrick Swayze guest starring as a randy tennis coach. Is Keeping Mum a comedy cracker? Or is it the kind of film you'd only wish on your mother-in-law? “A vicar for the small English country parish has...”

★★★★★

written by Shape to Squares on 12/01/2007

A vicar for the small English country parish has allowed his marriage to go stale and he is so detached from his family that he has not taken notice that his 17-year-old daughter Holly is going through a succession of inappropriate relationships with unsuitable boyfriends and his son fears going to school due to being bullied.
Out of desperation for affection, his wife begins to fall for the advances of her American golf pro, giving her "private" lessons. The problems upsetting the family start to fade away after Grace Hawkins, the new housekeeper, arrives and starts tending to matters as an older, and rather darkly mysterious version of Mary Poppins.
It's really a fun, quirky, comical film!
