“im happy with their service.”

★★★★☆

written by egBurnham333 on 22/03/2014

Air Asia is a low budget airline in Asia. So the service and the product is pretty low as well. I booked several flights on air asia for my holidays,I was happy that I have booked them according to my availability. I would and will fly Air Asia again and would definitely recommend them, as they’re still one of the better low cost carriers in Asia.

“Still the best low-cost airline in asia”

★★★★☆

written by ldnchris on 08/07/2013

I’ve flown a lot with Air Asia over the past 12 months and on the whole they’ve been pretty good, with the exception of customer service - as they are next to impossible to get hold of by phone! After trying several numbers published for them on the internet I eventually got hold of them in Bangkok and they were able to assist with providing me with my booking reference (the usual email didn’t get sent to me for some reason) but it would have been better if getting the right number would have been a little easier. I would and will fly Air Asia again and would definitely recommend them, as they’re still one of the better low cost carriers in Asia.

“You Know What You're Getting”

★★★★☆

written by on 21/06/2013

I knew, going in, Air Asia was going to have other costs. I pre-paid for a seat in the quiet section and for my meals to be ready when I got on board. I was more than comfortable and, because most people don't want to pay the extra costs, I ended up with empty seats around me. The flights were extremely comfortable and, actually, quieter than the other flights because they've sectioned off a Quiet Area. It was amazing! It's true, you're going to have issues if your luggage is overweight, if you're hungry and don't have correct change or currency, but all-in-all, it was a great set of flights around SE Asia.

“Budget flights... Asia forever!”

★★★★☆

written by giramondo on 18/11/2011

Traveling up and down Asia could be expensive, even with low cost airlines. I used AirAsia several times and, honestly, I will do it again. Probably because I did not have a checked baggage (only a 6 kilos trolley) I did not have to pay any extra charge for that and I did not have problems with lost items... The flight was perfectly in time (I remember the first few times receiving sms just before the flight to inform me that the flight was postponed to the day after or cancelled or overbooked...) in a new plain (comfortable and clean)... Staff OK, in Asian standard, young and friendly. I will fly again next month, Bangkok-Chiang Mai this time... hope to have the same experience

“Air Asia-A Great Budget Airline”

★★★★☆

written by mlynch0403 on 03/09/2011

I don't see why Air Asia gets such low ratings on here. It's a budget airline and well worth the price. I recently flew from Bangkok to Phuket and it cost me around 100 dollars for round trip. There are no free drinks or food but they do have them available for sale at cheaper than average prices. The main point that people are missing is that this is a BUDGET airline. The seats are relativity small but comfortable and the hostesses are friendly and helpful. They have a smaller luggage allowance than others at 15 KG for checked luggage and 7KG for carry on(although they don't really enforce the carry on weight). If you are a not a light traveler then be aware you will have to pay overweight fees, but you can choose a larger luggage allowance when booking online. The bottom line is you just can't beat Air Asia when it comes to budget airlines and cheap flights.

“Took AirAsia from Singapore to Phuket and return...”

written by ChrisKon on 11/12/2010

Took AirAsia from Singapore to Phuket and return yesterday. Summary of review below:
Flight was on time.
Staff casual and friendly.
Baggage received in good order.
Seat request was met.
Price was reasonable.
Like the AirAsia system and the concept of pay only what you need and not what you don't need.
Perfect Low Cost Airline.
By the way, I worked for both European and Asian Airlines for 13 years and I must say Kudos and well done to AirAsia and Team.
Going to Bali next year by AirAsia.

“My Husband and I flew from Coolangatta to Kuala Lumpur...”

★★★★☆

written by on 14/09/2010

My Husband and I flew from Coolangatta to Kuala Lumpur and stayed 4 days and then KL to Ho Chi Minh return and then from KL over to Bali. We thought they were fantastic considering the fare we paid. The staff were lovely, all flights were on time - sure there is no entertainment however we saved a minimum $1000 compared to other airlines. Last year we flew to Vietnam with Cathay Pacific and arrived at Brisbane Airport at 10pm for our flight only to be told the flight was cancelled - the flight number had been cancelled 2 months previously and Cathay Pacific failed to notify us and a handful of other passengers that arrived that evening. I am flying back to KL with my daughter this weekend with Air Asia and have no hesitations.

“Booked my daughter and friend on Stansted-K.L. flight....”

★★★★☆

written by on 06/07/2010

Booked my daughter and friend on Stansted-K.L. flight. Booking was easy, though I wouldn't say the flights were exactly cheap at £680 per ticket. However ,as we don't live too far from Stansted it made sense. When we got to the airport the check in was completely hassle free- no queues when we arrived 2 hours before take off ( they'd already checked in 150) - fantastic. I'd paid £5 to move friend next to my daughter when we checked in online, only to find the boarding passes were printed with the original allocated seats. At check in they put them together without any fuss and Air Asia responded to my eamail within 2 days saying they would refund the £5 ! My daughter had a great flight- on time/no problems.Thinking of flying with them myself in the winter.

We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. Flight was delayed going out of Kuala Lumpur but was early landing in Singapore. Cabin crew and check-in crews were really friendly and very energetic. They are a budget airline but they acted very professional and very high class. The seats are leather upholstered seats which I like, but they seem a little bit small. Air Asia is worth your money! We only paid 17 USD for each ticket! It's ridiculous how our taxi fare to the airport was greatly more expensive than our flight ticket. I recommend Air Asia.

“PER-KL-STN. ”

★★★★☆

written by on 25/07/2009

PER-KL-STN.
PER - KL - PER was on Airbus 330, the seats are essentially 3 inch foam, the back support does not recline but instead the bottom seat cushion moves forward by about 2 inches - do not expect a comfortable recline. Prior to departure they pack you in the plane 45-60 mins before departure time but do not turn the air-conditioning on till the plane departs, making it very uncomfortable in the heat and humidity especially in KL. You land on the tarmac and walk to the terminal which is quite chaotic. Even though in transit you need to unnecessarily check in and out of customs and immigration both ways. Checking baggage through for the next leg is not allowed.
KL - STN - KL was on Airbus 340, an old and rattly plane. Seats in Premium Economy are old business class seats with good padding and very comfortable recline (no flat beds). Pre ordered meals are served 2 hours after departure and the second serving 2 hours before landing. Meals are decent, both in taste and quantity. They are unable to cater to all special need meals hence taking your own food is ok. Air crew was friendly and helpful. Overall good value for money on Air Asia.

I am surprised to see people had many issues with AirAsia. I flew through KL their hub, found them to be reliable and most helpful. Comfy seats, no delays.

written by melajaca on 01/04/2009

Flew from Perth WA to KL in March 09 with Air Asia. Had a great flight with no problems at all . Staff were great. The flight left on time an arrived in KL 1/2 hour early so that was good.
We missed our conecting flight home to perth because we didnt allow enough time between flights (our mistake not the airline)
Cant complain cos the flight was so cheap.
We had to buy another ticket and sleep at the airport.
But we survived and are planning another trip in October with the family.(andmaking sure we have plenty of time for our return flight home)

“ Just flew from Australia to KL return with Air Asia...”

★★★★★

written by n1cole on 03/06/2008

Just flew from Australia to KL return with Air Asia on a cheap airfare. After booking the flight I read some bad travel reviews and was concerned about flying. Given that Air Asia is a low cost airline we thought it was great. Both flights left on time, the second one even arrived early. Booking online was straight forward, you knew exactly what you were paying for. The service on board was great, check in was easy and relatively quick, the pre-booked meals were good. There was also a choice of reasonably priced food/snacks and other accessories on board that you can purchase. The Comforter kit for $10AUD was good value and we'll use it again on our next flights.

You can't do better from the West Coast to Asia. Booked online with Air Asia, and took a chance with seating... which worked out well, as we got 4 seats together.

“Bangkok to Singapore (2.5 hour flight) for $50 return...”

★★★★★

written by crocodilexp on 17/11/2005

Bangkok to Singapore (2.5 hour flight) for $50 return with Air Asia. For that price, I would have been happy to sit in the luggage hold. The flight was actually nice, with lots of smiles from the staff (they're Thai). The planes are a bit old but super clean, and always on time (I flew Air Asia on 4 occasions).

The only bad point is that there is no food. I know it is a no-frills airline, but some of their competitors (One-Two-Go) in the similar price range actually offer a free snack and a drink.

they aern't "always on time", in fact quite the reverse. In the 13 times that I've flown with Air Asia they've been 'on time' just once!
