“Bad recovery option”

I booked a flight from VTZ to GOI on a particular date. That flight got cancelled due to operational issue, however they have booked the flight which is prior to the actual my reaching time. Now I have to book a hotel for day where my additional charge has to get incurred. So I asked the customer care to provide some recovery option to it. There recovery is not at all favorable to the customer. In fact it will only help to grow their business.

“A wrong ticket. ”

I wanted a ticket for January the 11, 2014 SUB-KL. But I bought a ticket 11th of January 2015. Maybe because my internet connection is very slow here in Indonesia. I immediately called the customer service in Australia (open 24 hours) To cancel the ticket but the woman could not do anything for me. However, they could change the date for 1.5 million Rupiah. She told me that the rates at the call center does not match with the rates on the Internet. Very unfriendly was the woman. Every question I asked she yawned. But maybe it was because she did not understand me well. (slow internet connection) Not customer friendly and not flexible.

I flew with Citilink and it was very good! Because I am tall (1.90) Citilink gave me an emergency exit, for free! Also the price included 20kg baggage. Standard! No extra payment like with Air Asia. Also the airporttax is including the price with Citilink.
I have booked my next flight with Citilink already.

“Cattle Truck”

My agent booked three flights using Air Asia without consulting me; felt like a cattle truck with no leg room and I am only 1m 70; the customer next to me was much taller and there was no room for his legs. On one flight, my wife and I were allocated different parts of the plane despite checking in together. At Kuala Lumpur, it is about a 10 minute walk to the terminal Cheap flights and cheap sevice; you pay for what you get but I prefer to pay more for comfort and will not use this airline ever again.

“Terrible situation in baggage drop-off/check-in”

I will not fly with Air Asia any more! In the past I have travelled with Air Asia many times and I was fully satisfied. However, my last two trips with Air Asia were horrible! The problem is with check- in facility. Since air Asia has introduced the web check-in facility the problem has started. My flight was on 26th Dec. to Chennai, booking no. L7K24J. I did web check-in and reached 2.5 hours earlier for baggage drop off. However, to our surprise the baggage drop off area was like fish market. Total chaos! Common counter for all the routes and all the counters were with long queues. There was no discipline! People were entering in between the lines without giving any respect for the queue. I waited in the queue for almost 2 hours without moving a single foot. I was helpless and sure to miss the flight. Somehow, 40 min. before departure two new counters opened for Chennai only and I managed to get my luggage dropped off just 20 mins. before departure. Then ran for immigration. Long queue there also, but my expatriate gold card helped me to pass through quickly and somehow I boarded into the flight just 5 min. before departure! Many people missed the flight that day and flight was delayed. Same problem I had faced for the 1st time when I was travelling to Kolkata on 11th June (booking no. T94P2T). I though that was an exceptional case. But now I am sure this is a regular affair. Air Asia management team should stand in the baggage drop-off area in disguise and then they will clearly understand the gravity of this problem. This is really damaging Air Asia reputation. In the past when there was separate check-in counter I have traveled with Air Asia many times and there were no issue. But now I am scared and will not travel in Air Asia any more unless the chaotic situation in bagage drop-off area is resolved. Also one more point, the staff near the bagage drop-off area were not helpful at all. When I repoted the problem to the security on duty, he bluntly told this was my problem and he couldn't help! The people in counter were unable to manage the situation. There were no other staff nearby whom the elderly passangers or other not so habituated passengers could report.

Same situation for me. Baggage drop off at BKK wasa fish market. I was so worried that I wuld miss my flight to Kolkatta, but somehow they managed to get everyone checked in. Does anyone know what happens if you are already web checked in and have only hand baggage. Can you go directly to the gate?

I fly with this airline quite a lot because they are cheap, the hostesses are rude to say the least and it is definately like a cattle shed in the airplaine, if you can book correctly using their messed up website and arrive at your destination on time, i guess its ok. If you cannot book, you make a mistake, you loose your bags, you arrive late, watchout. They are hard wired to try and screw every last penny out of you, try going to the departure gate 5 minutes before closeure, the first thing they do is check their watch to see if they can screw you again before you board.
This company sucks and is a disgrace, I would recommend you spend the extra 20 bucks and fly with singapore or tiger, they are much better, Singapore dont worry about a few extra pounds in your suitcase and always have a smile, booze and food. last month were actually cheaper than air asia, if you have to fly with them, make sure you are ontime, your luggeage is under 20KG and be ready for nasty nasty flight attendants.

Overall flight was ok, they have made a couple of changes to our flight to UK and back which cause lots of problem as all the changes either arrive really early hours of the day or not enough time to board the connecting flight so we have the extra cost of accomodations which amount to 3days and thats $300+ so if you get a real bargin then it ok otherwise pay a little more go with non budget airline. I have a second bad experience with them on another flight as this time I made a little error with booking for the whole family, because of the heavy traffic when there is a promotion webpage sometimes expire very quickly if you are not a fast typist,so on this occasion I accidently book my own with the wrong time as the rest of my family, ah ha! this is where the customer service is really really bad, like the others said you can never get hold of them waited for nearly 4hrs to answer the phone, afterall this effort they don't care even if it was a genuine mistake I have to purchase new ticket..Don't bother ringing if this happen to you.

I was denied access to a supervisor and was coerced to "change" an airline ticket when I just needed them to send me home. It is important to mention that this was a returning flight and therefore it was AirAsia Airlines to send me back to the originating country, which according to international law they are supposed to fulfill. It appears to me that this airline banks on the lack of knowledge of their customers' rights to impose its will and get money from the customers.

Ground service extremely bad and in mess. Nobody coordinating the work flow resemble poor management with poor leadership in operation. Poor work force quality makes me doubt if the air craft is checked properly for my flight, and are they really trying to make everyone can fly freely in the sky. Definitely not a wise choice for faint-hearted to keep mind in peace while experiencing the unknown impromptu flight delay with the anxious faces appeared on their crews. For hot tempered/fast-paved movers please do not try your patience on any of the crews around with your query on services as what you will mostly expected would ridiculous & meaningless response. For me to certain extent their feedback is so irresponsible. Perhaps budget flight providing really budget service. Should not expect the least of courtesy act as it is really on budget.

I will be flying with them again, main reason being that the other airlines are a complete rip off. They also have a very large list of destinations now. Connecting you from Australia to London now.

Overall, it's a good airline is you're looking for a bargain and can overlook the lack of comfort. However, if you want good service and don't want to spend 5 hours trying to contact the call centre....this is not the airline for you.
