Luxor, Tutotel

Good location, clean rooms. Would not recomend bed/breakfast or half board to anyone. Breakfast was prepacked not fresh, eat or go without. For dinner you had what was given to you, or go without. On my last day no water, could not wash or shower, no apology from staff or management. If ever I went back to this hotel (Tutotal) it would be room only.

We stayed at the Tutotel for one night and our initial impression was that it was a good hotel for the price (hence the nice lobby comment). However, upon reaching our room we were actually quite disappointed, particularly by the standard of cleanliness. Two of the beds had stained sheets on them (small stains only noticeable on closer inspection), and the remaining bed had crumbs in it. The cleanliness of the pillowcases was also questionable. The staff were not unfriendly as such, but weren't the friendliest people I've ever met. The tours organised through the hotel were good value for money and our guide was informative, friendly and spoke English well. The location is good - close to the Nile and Luxor Temple, and fairly close to restaurants and shops. I'd avoid the hotel shop if I were you - it's expensive.

Breakfast at the Tutotel in Luxor is buffet style, and includes cereals, local breakfast items, eggs, meats, salads, breads and pastries.

Evening meals are also buffet style, with a large selection of Egyptian and European food, including meats, salad, breads and desserts to die for.

The Italian restaurant offers a large variety of delicious pizza, pasta, and European dishes, and also various snacks such as sandwiches.

Try a few words of Arabic on the staff, and you will never have a dull moment.
