The connections on the slide appear to be poor. When I open the slide the phone will often drop of the connection, lose the screen, this has gotten worse to the point that I have to jiggle the side to see the screen, it is all white. The screen comes back and then drops out again if I slightly move the phone. The camera is poor unless you are holding it VERY STILL it is all blurred. First and last slide phone I will buy.

Without question the Nokia N80 is the worst phone i have ever had. Perhaps the worst consumer item at all, terrible in every way. its slow, software breaks down all the time, been sent back seven or eight times, to send a text takes about a whole minutes after you press the send button. Really really bad.

One of the worst phones I've ever had, it seems like they have tried to squeeze to much technology onto one handset and never bothered to iron out the kinks. The simpler things that I take for granted with a handset, i.e. Text messaging become a chore!!!

The very first thing I noticed was that the sound quality on normal calls is terrible - weak and tinny. Reception is poor and the battery life is pathetic.
Then, the main feature I had bought the phone for - the Wi-fi connectivity - simply would not retain settings. I was prompted for passwords I had already entered and this happened over and over again. The phone would not retain those either. When I did manage to connect (by re-entering every setting each time I wanted to use email) I discovered I couldn't delete old messages. I spent hours trying to make the email work properly and eventually gave up.
Text and email messages are in a tiny font. Keys are difficult to use and the joystick system is imprecise and leads to numerous mistakes. The camera is very poor. Generally the phone is slow, difficult to navigate and required firmware upgrades before I could access its full memory properly.
Nokia have no route for customer complaints via their website, failing to respond to any of my emails and O2 are simply pathetic and showed absolutely zero interest in my problems.
The phone is going in the river as soon as its contract expires.

Had mobiles phones since 1987. Yes... 1987. The Nokia N80 is the worst phone ever, battery lasts a long as a gnats life. Software a disaster.

I've always had Nokia Phones, I liked the look of the N80, though it is a bit heavy and on reflection a bit wide. However the software and general basic function failures have been a nightmare, to be fair to Orange they've constantly replaced the handset, though every replacement has been poor. I contacted Nokia UK customer service, who, and if you've tried them I'm sure you'll already know this, just DO NOT CARE about it's customer base. As a result, Nokia can go into liquidation for all I care. I'm off, there really can't be another handset on the market that could do nearly nothing which it's advertised to do.

I have never known anything use battery power like this thing you will get 1/2 hour talk if you are very very lucky, but in order to talk in the first place you will have to be stood next to a phone mast as the signal strength is possibly the worst I have ever seen. I took the phone back tried new batteries and still the same I was going to smash it. In the end I gave it to a friend who carries the charger around in her handbag for obvious reasons the phone is still causing me problems as I am no longer able to get hold of my friend on it because she either has no signal or the batteries gone. If I was Nokia I would give people their money back.

Very poor phone! Keeps on crashing and won't turn off without the battery being removed! It's been sent back to 3 twice for repair but it works for a while then breaks down again.

What a mistake! My biggest phone regret ever (currently up to no. 3). My Nokia N80 does everything a regular slim handset can do, with the exception of WI FI which is next to useless, at half the speed, triple the size, and a fraction of the battery life!

I have always had Nokia mobile phones for over 10 years, but I will never have another after this phone. I am on my second after my initial phones constant crashes forced me to send it back after 2 weeks. The replacement Nokia N80 is slightly better, as it has the revised software, but still not much use.

Being honest, this Nokia N80 is a poor phone from Nokia. I have used Nokias for a long time now and this is probably the worst phone they have made. They have obviously not tested it much before they put it on the open market, the software has a lot of bugs. Stay well clear of this phone.

Problems, problems, problems!! I paid an extra £120 to Vodafone with a contract to get the Nokia N80. First phone that arrived, battery lasted just over a day before it was totally drained and I'd made one 10 minute call throughout the day, and the Nokia website claims it has a standby life of 200 hours!! I returned it to Vodafone thinking maybe it was just a bad phone and another one would be better. The battery life on the replacement was just as bad, if not worse, but also the numeric keypad on this one didn't work after a few days. Plus, the phone is slow, crashes often enough, and overall is a total waste of my and anyone else's money!!

I was over the moon when I first got the Nokia N80 phone, having paid an additional £50 with my new contract with Orange, but it's basically been downhill since then. Phone is extremely slow to do ANYTHING, calls disconnect mid-conversation, crashes, loses connection with memory card, so again, crashes!
I'm waiting for my current handset to be collected, to be replaced with yet another N80. Just don't even think about getting one! I've reverted back to an old phone!

This Nokia N80 phone has got to be the worst phone ever made. I have had nothing but problems with it. Nokia have taken nothing to do with the on going problems this phone has. Anytime you email them about yet another problem, you are told to take it to a repair centre who then tells you it's a teething problem. I don't recommend this phone.

I use my phone very often. I'm on it all day and have had to put my new sim card in my old phone (Nokia 6230) as the battery goes dead after an hour or less of use in my new Nokia N80. It's really complicated to use and it's more of a pocket pc than a phone!!!! Would not recommend this phone to anyone and feel very let down by Nokia. Also the screen for the camera on the back has cracked due to the screen being so thin.

Avoid the Nokia N80 mobile phone like the plague. The phone shop, to their credit did try to steer me away from this phone, but I'd always been a Nokia fan, so I ignored their advice to my peril. On their recommendation I swapped to the new Sony Ericsson W810i, which is an excellent PHONE. It has excellent features, it is a better size, much improved signal and LONG battery life etc. The staff also advised that many people were turning away from Nokia as their phones appear to be getting bigger and harder to "drive" the menus and features. Nokia, if you're reading this, get back to what you're good at and scrap the terrible N-series phones!!

Firstly, anything to do with battery and charger. I have to charge the battery on my Nokia N80 mobile phone at least 4 times per week because of several features that run in the background (the reason I chose the phone in the first place).
They've reduced the size of the charging jack causing it to come adrift at the slightest touch. An adapter was supplied to enable this to be charged from the more popular jack size chargers, but it's very fussy as to which it will actually accept when plugged in. This means you're unlikely to find a friend to borrow a suitable charger from. I recommend you acquire another charger for work and one for your car.
Secondly, to enable the keyguard feature has become slightly more complicated. Now you have to open and close the slide to get the 'keyguard' feature or press the on/off button, then select keyguard from there.
Thirdly, the slide frequently opens when the phone is in my pocket or sitting in my lap when driving, or when carrying more than 1 item in the same hand as my phone. This automatically enables the keypad and adds to the already woefully inadequate battery life.
Finally, it's chunky! In mobile phone terms it's way too big compared to others I've seen.

I agree with your bad points. Have you used your camera indoors at night? It's bad. I sold mine as it is the worst phone I've had. I wish I had read the reviews first.
