Leaving aside the smell of drains in some of the rooms we had at The Gateway to York, and the fact that the chef was sick and therefore couldn't do lunches (an excuse that a number of other internet reviewers have mentioned in other reviews). I was forced to pay twice for the rooms we booked through the internet, which they readily acknowledge was their mistake. However, 8 weeks later I am still trying to get a refund, despite promises that it is being dealt with.
