I have tried every Irish Cream (some "so called") that I've been able to find in my local stores. I had tried Carolans in the past and was not impressed. Most recent "find" is St. Brendan's - absolute closest to Bailey's if that's your preference, and very reasonable. Was out of town recently and only alternative to Baileys ($30.00)in store was Carolans, so bought a bottle. It was even worse than I remembered. Back home now, and the Carolan's will sit with what remains in it since we stocked up on St. Brendan's. Noted, this cream originated way back in 1978. This is not an old traditional Irish cream recipe, more like a cheap, fakey impersonator.

Alright in hot chocolate or coffee, but not even close to Baileys for flavor and a good kick of Irish whiskey. It was a bit watery and overly sweet. I could taste the honey and it just didn't work for me. The thing I disliked the most though was the strong, almost buttery flavor of the cream. Very sickly. For sure it's a bit cheaper than Baileys but like I said really only alright in a hot drink for my taste.

My review keeps being truncated. To keep it short... Carolans Irish Cream Liqueur has an unpleasant residue, and I wouldn't buy it again!
