Borj-Cedria, SunBeach Caribbean World

If you are looking for a place to stay in Tunisia, this is a pretty decent one. They have a decent price for what you get and less worries.

Trust me we personally looked at the hotels downtown, they are scary!!! Bullet holes, burn marks and missing toilets.

Borj Cedria is good!

The food is simple, but good for the mass of people. The staff at the bar is not overly friendly but they will joke with you if you joke with them. English can be used with the staff as well but I am sure our of respect for them and their language they would prefer French. Dont recommend for honeymooners or family with elders as it can be loud and crazy with the kids and it is not overly romantic. It is simple and is good for what you pay. It is also far from downtown but the train station is close to walk to. The train takes about 45 minutes to downtown but is great for people watching and seeing the cities on the way.

If you are relaxed and down for a fun, low key vacation and up to some adventures on the way then this place is for you, if you are looking to stay at the hotel all the time, then probably would not recommend it, they dont have a large amount of things to do.

Warning Taxis can be difficult, tell them to use the meter and only take high ways, you should pay about 13-15 dinar from downtown to the train station in Borj Cedria and just walk the rest. They will mess with you if they can! If they quote you any more than that during daylight hours, tell them to take a hike.

The staff at the SunBeach Caribbean World in Tunisia were very friendly, and most of them spoke very good English. The rep was very helpful too.

I would go back again, as we had a great time.

I went to the SunBeach Caribbean World resort with my husband, 9 year old son and 70 year old disabled parents. When we booked we requested a ground floor room for my parents, as mum walks with a stick and cannot manage stairs. They gave her a first floor room, and there was no lift. We did try to complain about the problem, but suddenly no one was able to speak English. MY mum spent most of the week in her room. The temp was 35 degrees, and the air conditioning did not work. You are miles away from anywhere. Take your own drinks as the hotel all inclusive is very limited (no spirits). Take biscuits or you will starve. Do not go on any trips as they are not what they seem. We are still waiting for compensation, and we are so far being ignored by Med Hotels.
