when i booked request for wheel chair for my parents. my dad have poor vision. pathetic service at mumbai airport nobody come to help. my dad (age 75) and mum (73) both have walk towards luggage collection by them self carry towards exits. worst service never going to use air india again.

“Terrible Customer Service from Air India”

The overall experience was terrible. I spent over 4 hours waiting on Hold trying to contact AI Call Centres - on Delhi, Mumbai & Chennai Numbers trying to find out if there would be a charge to change the Date of the Return Flight and if so, how much. The Ts & Cs say there are no penalties/fees after the onward journey has been done (except for the Fare Difference, if any). Finally after a 20 min wait on one day, I got hold of someone and after checking the availability for the new date, she mentioned that it would be the Fare Deptt who would be able to tell me the Price ! She then transferred me and the line got disconnected after 40 mins. She confirmed that someone would call me back on my number (which I updated). A week and past the travel date, no call back from anyone ! I even sent emails, only to be given the same contact numbers that I have trying unsuccessfully. B'lore airport was a mess. Had 2 hours layoff for the outbound Flight. 1) Only 1 Counter for Foreign Passports and the guy was super slow, taking 20 mins for each person. 2) Luggage for hardly 50 passengers takes more than 30 mins. 3) No one in Air India knows where to deposit the luggage for the connecting Air India Flight. Someone asked me to just put it on the conveyor Belt, which I did, only to run and retrieve it later. 4) 500+ people in Q for Security early morning at 5:00. 5) Display was showing Gate No 6 for Kolkata (Air India). On reaching Gate 6, they said it was Spice Jet only and asked me to wait. It was 5:45 and scheduled departure was 5:50 and display showing Boarding from Gate 6. On asking a 2nd lady, she says, it's Gate 4. No one in Gate 4. Then someone says Gate 2, which is not even on the same Floor. Escalator only coming down, not going up. Mad rush for a lift and finally it was Gate 2 and just escaped missing the Flight by seconds. From their attitude, they wouldn't have bothered leaving a few passengers with Boarding passes behind (doubt very much if all connecting passengers made through on time). No announcements, not even interested when I mentioned that the display was showing wrong Gate info.

“Lousy airline.”

Tata airline after nationalisation has gone from bad to worse.people in India are waiting to go after tata's new airline Vista to become international. On recent travel by airline I found the suitcase badly damaged it seemed intentionally. Two years ago some on had urinated on the suitcase.all wet and stinking of urine. The complaint at the airport everyone although made me wait 2 hours with no action. Others said the loaders are to blame and they are very powerful lot. Recent journey the suitcase damages intentionally. Now I just booked other airline to fly to mumbai [I fly 3 to 4 times year]never to fly airindia even if it were the only airline

“never travel with Air India”

the worst experience ever, onward journey from London to Delhi the set would not go back, foot rest broken and screen not working. no screens working at all from delhi to Colombo back and forth. on the return flight from colombo to Delhi there were no food choices left only vegetarian. had to put up with it and the passenger next to me had half of his arm on my side, so I had to lean towards my son to get some sleep.

“The worst airline ever”

Always late, the staff rude and difficult to find, the food horrible, the entertainment system didn't work half of the time, the toilets in bad condition with tape and hand written notes of don't use this or flush by pushing that, etc. The interior of the plane dirty and in bad condition (you opened the overhead compartment and you can end with a part of the door in you hand), the smell in the plane was very bad, in general a horrible experience. The worse was that they retained our passports and didn't let us to go out of the plane until Italian authorities confirmed that people from my country don't need visa schengen, even when you can see it in the Internet. This is expensive at any price.

“System error ”

I booked my flight online i wanted to fly into mumbia and out of delhi not knowing how to do this i called airindia they explained that I had to click on the multi city option so i did this and paid by credit card when i got my itinerary my flight was in and out of Mumbai not what i wanted so i contacted airindia by phone they told me it was a system error and i jad to contact airindia.in they will change it so i emailed them and got a reply what do you want us todo well if its not obvious you shouldn't be in your job so when i arrived at Heathrow i went too ai counter to explain my situation they told me its 25 quid to change here or nothing in mumbia so hey ho mumbia i got given airindia.in email again so after another 10 emails i got no reply then i tried to call then i got know where apart from pay money like they havent got enough i travelled this time 3 times each time my flight was delayed ive read online you can take them to small claims court exactly what im doing when i get home this airline is useless the worst ill never fly with them again horrible experience

I have read the reviews and I am scared to bits, I have not even boarded the plane and it makes me want to curl in a ball and cry. Maybe I should walk it from London to Delhi. At least it is safer!

“Poor customer service and poor management ”

My AI flight 409 on February 20 was changed twice by air line and still the flight was delayed by more than an hour which caused to miss my connecting flight . I was forced to stay in a hotel over night in New delhi. My Hotel reservation at Mumbai had to be redone at a higher rate and was an extra expense to me . Air India has habitual answer to deny a confirm domestic flight . I paid them in Dollars two months before my trip and still i had hard time running from Air port controller to the booking counter to make sure to get a confirmed flight . Also I travelled as international passenger from N.Y but after reaching New delhi , i was subjected to 15 KG luggage weight and i was charged $94 for the over weight . They again charged me RS. 15,00 for going to Mumbai . The flight which was supposed to go to Mumbai all on a sudden without our information went to Poona and from there flew to Mumbai which killed our time for two hours . Air India must compensate for the extra expenses , lost time and inconvenience to International passengers because International passengers are always on a times schedules .

“Terrible Terrible Airline and Staff ”

This is the WORST airline EVER !! The staff are rude and ignorant had ONE drink on a 9 hour flight and its not just on the plane !!! The Ground staff lied continually ,during our 31.5 hour delay in Delhi ,Leaving us to find a lounge to sleep in at our own cost ,Laughed when we complained ,walked us to the bottom of a staircase and then actually RAN back up it and left us there !!! Answered phones that didn't ring so they could walk away and leave us , i would rather BURN my money than give it to Air India !!!! DO NOT FLY WITH THIS COMPANY !!! I wish i could give it less than one star !!!

Air India do not respect safety rules. I flew recently from Delhi to Bhopal. They do not car if passengers do not switch off their mobiles during take off and landing. We complained with the crew but they smiled and did noting.

My flight time was 6:40 Chennai-Delhi, i reach airport in time get scan my baggage when i go to counter to get my original ticket they said my weight is exceeded with 2 kg..ok i said i will take it out few things and handled over to my friend who is waiting outside,the person in counter said ok i will wait..i just went for 2min and came the counter person said counter closed..what kind of customer service is this and supervisor and manager are same no refundable,no arrange for another flight..or they never listen to my world..I WILL NEVER EVER FLEW IN AIR INDIA AND WON"T NEVER RECOMMEND TO MY RELATIVES AND FRIEND,THE WORST FLIGHT..REALLY SUCKS I LOST MY MONEY..THE OCCURRENCE AREA IS CHENNAI AIRPORT AND I REALLY HATE THE SUPERVISOR LADY..

“second rate airline”

B777-300ER. Economy class. reading light didn't work, footrest broken, AVOD didn't work. Cabin filthy with waste tissues and rubbish strewn round cabin . Toilets filthy with urine on floor and used tissues on floor. Childs soiled nappy hanging out of bin. Female cabin crew looked scruffy. They were rude, unhelpful and thoroughly unprofessional. Food was terrible. AVOD "entertainment" choices were very poor. Films outdated and TV choices were very poor. There was nothing to like about Air India. They fail at every level and do not understand or seem to care about their customers. Their customer offer is extremely poor. I am not surprised that the FAA has downgraded them for poor oversight. Avoid this second rate airline at all costs.

“Poor inflight service for business class ticket...”

This is the first time I flew with Air India and I was really disappointed at the service and even more frustrated after the journey with the poor customer service. I have never experienced this in any other airline before. I paid a lot of money to book business class ticket on this flight [AI113 - 4/1/13] as I was sick and wanted to travel comfortably for the 8 hour journey. I was discharged from the hospital just 2 days before and it was very important for me to have a comfortable travel. But in my seat, auto reclining was not working. The steward has noted this in his log book and the technical team tried to fix this before take off but with no success. They said its Air India's mistake as the seat should not have been allocated. By the time we reached Birmingham, I was in severe pain with swelling in my joints. And I had to be admitted in the hospital for another week in the UK I called up the customer services to report this and they asked to submit a feedback online. I did that twice . No one has taken any notice of it. I called the customer service again, they gave me a telephone number for the Air India head office in London. I have been calling them for days now. No one is picking up. How pathetic can the services be? So then i called the customer services team again and they gave an email id. I hope someone will see this and get in touch with me. I need compensation and refund of the money I paid for the business class ticket. Better to fly in Emirates Economy services, 10 times better than Air India Business or First Class

“never fly air india”

Date : 20 Jan 2014 , Monday. I had an AIR India flight from GOA - Bangalore at 04:00 am from GOA (see boarding pass attached) at 04:00 am. I got a message saying flight is delayed by one hour and will fly at 05:00 am and there would be no further delays (the lady who called from AIr india said this). I had a connecting flight (Go AIr) Bangalore to Delhi at 08:20 am from Bsnagalore on the same day. Air india GOa - bangalore gets delayed and we only landed Bangalore at 07:40 am .In the flight the air hostess asked passengers and noted our connecting flight numbers and carriers and told us they would inform them. As a caus eof the flight delay I reached the go air counter at 08:00 am and was denied entry. Air India staff at the banagalore airport was very rude to me, made me run from counter to counter with no help.They were completely un cooperative, did not offer any accomodated seat to delhi on their flight.I had to buy a fresh ticket there for 11,000 rupees. The flight delay was because of air india and they did not inform the Go air people (carrier) and i had to bear the brunt of all this. My original flights had a gap of 4:30 hours between them and goa to banagalore is only 1 hour.I dont understand what my fault was? It was all Air India's fault.How can you delay a domestic flight for 2:30 hours and then lie to passengers that u hav informed the further carieers? and the staff? some guy called Mr. Chari on banagalore air india staff.he was very rude , disrespectful and uncooperative.He told me do whatu can do ...call the poliec what evr! There was no help to parse thru the secuirty , they even refused to talk to go air and in the flight they said everything is takken care of.what liars!

The whole service to the level of customer service is disgusting even southall travel who book on behalf of this airline. After some timing alterations due to the foggy weather air india are not able to reply to a email regarding my compliant even the ceo was copied into this email its disgusting how they charge £650.00 plus for a service like this. after shortening my holiday they have the cheek to give me lip when im paying for my ticket they sell you a lovely dream flight when you actually get a chitty chitty bang bang

“Air India Staff pls Travel on Emirates or Air Arabia &...”

I took this airline out of necessity and regret the whole travel experience. This airline can get the worst airline award for everything. Old and dilapidated aircrafts full of cockroaches, grandmother aged female crew members who just do not realize its time they sit at home becuz work irritates them easily. In flight entertainment award for screens that never work and by hook or crook if they work then rest assured the headphones will not work. The ringer for flight attendants are all switched off by default, You have to go all the way to Business class or first class where the grannies and grandpa's sit and chat together as if they are on a leisure trip. The booking and call centers are even ruled by grannies and grandpa's , they are hardly able to hear anything or understand anything. The very look on face of crew says that they are doing the job as its easy money and no other airline will even have them as sweepers in their offices. This airline is a disgrace to the nation,a burden of old men and women who should be shown the door and let the new generation take control, and if that is not possible this airline should be closed down for good .. Shame on Air India and its owner the ministry of aviation!

PUBLIC SERIVECE ANNOUNCEMENT: To all my Afghan friends and Family. Avoid Air India at all cost when traveling or trying to book a flight. Be prepared to stay overnight, miss your flight and pay $ 700 but leave you not a penny even to buy food before they let you fly on the next flight out of their stinking city and on their stinking Airlines. If you decide to cancel a flight, expect no money back. You won't get it. Advice to the wise. Don't even consider their stinking Airlines. Bad experience awaits you. But don't Waite, circulate this announcement to all your friends, family members and Afghans right away.

What can I say? I travel frequently both internationally and domestically within the United States. I made the mistake of booking an international flight on Air India as it was the only one available in the morning. The rude staff at the counter who were more intent on chatting among themselves while the customers waited in a line, the unclean aircraft and moldy linen well past use date, the lazy stewardess who ignored passengers until people got up and loudly shouted to attract her attention, and sub standard food. The price of the ticket was higher than other international carriers (Qantas, Singapore on the same route) so not sure why it was so substandard. I guess the fact that it is a public sector airline which has never made any money may have something to do with it. Oh well, lesson learned. Will be avoiding it the next time.
