So we went on a FAMILY holiday! My dad regularly goes to St Georges so we knew it was going to be a good holiday! Arrived early hours in the morning and were shown to our rooms, they were basic but didnt expect much else with beingg a 2 stram u get what you pay for. Holiday was goig greta until about half way through, we had hired out quads from Georges (Really NICE people), on this day we got back to the stars around 8ish and decided to get changed and go out for dinner, e ended up staying at the stars till around 11ish playing the stupid games provided by Kostas, the owner. We then decided to go into the resoirt for dinner. When we came back it all changed. Be aware Kostas does not appreciate you eating anywhere other than Stars. I never realised when you go on a self catering holiday you have to be glued to the the hotel??? Anyway so we came back around 12ish, me, my partner , ny dad, his partner and our little 4 yr old in her pushchair, as we get to the bar to order some drinks thare are some other guests questioning Kostas about what he does in the winter when the season closes, a perfectly normal question, so then joinging in the conversation my partner asks the same question, he takes offence, then we simpy asked if he had sorted the SKY tv so we could watch the darts, this is when it all kicked off, Kostas then starts saying Relax relax??? if you do not relax i will show you how we do things the Greek way??? Well if thasts not a threat i do not know what it, this guy for some reasons thinks he can threaten our family and it to be perefctly normally, the next morning he tried to apologise etc, he blamed it on him being tired, if you cant hack it then dont do the job. We saw our repthe next morning and they moved us to another hotel, which was 100 times better than the Stars, i would recommend the Alexandra Beach Apts, Alex is a brilliant guy, but do not stay here you will be on pins all week, hes like a jekyll and hide, and as for the qualirt of the service he provides, its repettive mundane and extremely irritating!

Stayed at Stars last August 09 with my 11 year old daughter[all be it for 3 days!]As soon as we went into the room my heart sank. The toilet was disgusting, the bedding in holes, the towels stained, the kitchen area was filthy so I hadto go and buy a bottle of bleach before I could even use it[not that there was much to even use by way of equiptment]There werent even any draws so we couldnt even unpack! On our second day there, my son and his girlfriend[who were staying in st george but at a different accomadation to us]came to see us and was basically told to leave the property by Kostos[who thought they was going to rob the place!]I told Kostos he was my son but he was having none of it and became very abusive and rude to me.I went and spoke to my rep and thought that would be the last of it but how wrong I was! When we got back to our room that night,Kostos appeared from nowhere demanding an apology from ME!What upset me the most was that he did this in front of my daughter who by then was a nervous wreck!Once again I spoke to my rep[this time on her mobile as it was quite late]she told me to go to my room and lock myself in and to come to her first thing in the morning. As we were leaving to go and meet her the next day, Kostos once again came from nowhere and started screaming at me to hand over our passports or he would call the police!A big arguement ensued and his wife and mother were trying to calm him down by which time I was in tears!I called the rep who was there within minutes. She told us to carry on walking to Eleanas where she would see us when she had sorted this out.To cut a long story short,we were moved to an absolutely wonderful place that day,our rep,Jo was amazing and we ended up having a fantastic holiday thanks to her.Oh and Kostos hadto foot the bill for our new accomadation! So if you are thinking of staying at Stars,I would seriously think twice. He is ok if you eat and drink at his place or if you are a couple or family.

south star studios hotel - I really dont know what Planet these people come from who are writing these reviews stating the Hotel is fantastic. It was like a Holiday Hotel from Hell scenario. The rooms were filthy, fittings broken & rusty, the beds damp with dirty sheets, the sink mouldy & full of scum, the shower head rusty & broken, the platic chairs manky & filthy & the balcony wall covered in bird poo !That was just the inside! I have photos to prove should the owner wish to continue sending threatening & abusive Emails to those who have written bad reviews. The owner is clearly Barking. We spent a total of 4-5 hours there before getting transfered to another Hotel. At no time did we remonstrate with the owner nor make our opinions known to him.We dealt directly with the Rep from Olympic & left without even speaking to him. As a result of a member of our party leaving a bad review the owner has sent an abusive & threatening Email to that person. Take note Mr Kostas any more threats & I will be the one taking Legal Action. All in all an horrendous experience & not a good start to a long anticipated holiday.

I found this review not helpful because it gives a very false impression on what is essentially a very good place to go for a budget holiday. Yes the reviewer may have had a bad experience but it is unfair to describe STARS with such a broadbrush. I had a wonderful holiday with no complaints. Maybe the reviewer could not grasp the personality of the owner, who I found to be very friendly and very helpful. Other people I have spoke to did not have one bad word to say about the owner. The email epidsode could be forgiven as the owner is very passionate about what people say about STARS and felt the need to respond. I am sure it will not happen again. I would recommend STARS to anyone who wishes to spend 2 weeks in a nice quiet place far from the maddening crowd.

After reading some of the reviews on this site, i felt that i would like to express my opinion of st george, south star studios hotel.
i have to agree completely with the comments made in that the apartments were filthy. Our room was not very nice at all. not to mention the pool area/play area. i think it is unfair of people to comment on other peoples reviews when this is a site for personal experiences and opinions of the place. why would people come on here if they were not telling the truth about the place? I also do not agree that people do not cook on self catering holidays, because why else would it be 'self' catering. we do like to eat out on holiday, but as it is a budget holiday, we do expect the apartment to be clean enough to prepare food in.
on the whole, this is not a place i would recommend to stay at unless you have rather low expectations and you do not mind having to make a cup of tae/coffee in a pan as they do not supply a kettle. other than that, St George itself is a very nice place to be, just perhaps in a nicer accommodation.

I disagree with the comment made that the rooms were dirty. Our room was always cleaned, towels and sheets changed on time and the floors mopped. As for the shower area and toilets, these were kept very clean. If there was a stain in thetoilet, this is due to the metallic content of Greek local water - it is not dirty. As for the kitchen, we had adequate pots and plates and cutlery for cooking simple meals. As for there being no kettles, these were withdrawn by the Operator as previous customers had used them to boil washing in! The briki is a traditional pot for making coffee in the Greek style, and if you only wanted water it could be used easily to do this. My holiday was excellent.

I also disagree with this review, the rooms were spotlessly clean - why is it a problem to boil the water in a little saucepan rather than use a kettle?? Rooms were cleaned everyday with the exception of a Sunday. Loved it!

VERY disapointing. After arriving at stars studios I couldnt have been more disapointed. All I remember thinking was how much would it be for a flight home. To sum it up, the rooms smelt musty, when you sat on the beds they felt damp, the toilet had dirty brown stains on it, the kitchen area was dirty, and to call it a self catering apartment was a joke! I wouldnt even think about making a sandwich in there never mind dinner. And even if you did you would then have to go out onto your balcony that looks over bramble bushes (though it was supposed to be olive groves!) on a dirty plastic chair!ha, no thanx! I understand this is a basic 2* apartment but come on, you have to have standards. Luckily we were able to move the same day we arrived because god knows how we would have survived a night, never mind 10!Even the pool and bar area were a big disapointment. The sun loungers were mouldly and the childrens play area did not look safe. After moving we had a very enjoyable holiday and would definately recommend st george, but do not go near stars studios!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this is mine along with a few others that where there when we stayed! After reading reviews prior to arriving at South Star Studios Hotel, I thought we had got a good deal on a holiday, although there were quite a few bad reviews, I thought I would give it a chance. That was a very big mistake! South Star Studios Hotel is an absolute disappointment!
When the coach arrived outside, people on the coach were laughing and saying, "thank god we aren't staying there!" I was gutted that this was where we had to get off! After walking down the dirt road dragging our suitcases, we were greeted and taken to our 'room' (more like a box, considering the rooms are meant to be "spacious") it was a nightmare! This was meant to be a self catering holiday, it was not at all likely that we were going to be able to self cater in our apartment! The shower in the apartment flooded the whole room and soaked all our suitcases and bags. I do not understand why these apartments are advertised to people. I always go on a budget holiday and stay in 2 star accommodation, but this is by far less than a 2 star!
When I complained, they wanted to see our room; even they agreed that the flooding was out of order. This is not what anybody expects of any accommodation whether 2 star or 5 star! We got moved from these apartments to much nicer ones that were clean! (Even though we had to pay extra to move, it was worth it because otherwise, I would have had to pay for a flight home!)
If you are looking to stay there on a budget, please reconsider paying the extra £50 - £100. Unless you really don't mind staying in a less than basic apartment that seriously needs to be knocked down, because this is what you will get!
On the whole St George is a lovely place to stay and we would definitely return, but stay well away from South Star Studios Hotel it could ruin your holiday!

The reviewer obviously was disappointed because they had high expectations. If you knew it was a budget holiday then what did they expect. The complex was very clean, the rooms to the standard I expected and the service and value for money above what was expected. I go on holiday to get the sun not stay in my apartment and live like I am at home. I never expect to cook meals whilst on SC holidays, especially in Greece. I knew before I left the UK that I would be eating out. If I could make a coffee then I was happy. People have to expect less when they book these holidays, because when you actually get a better service and good value for money, then I for one would be a very happy tourist.

I have to agree why would you want to go on holiday to do major cooking, walk to the supermarket to get food? that would not be a holiday for me..I loved stars and will be going back again.

What an awful hotel. Our room was dirty, the toilet paper is only taken away once a week, the food was disgusting,. The staff are the rudest we have ever met, very unusual for Greeks. We didn't stay here long, changed hotels after a few days, couldn't take it any longer. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

On arriving at the Stars accommodation it didn't look to bad, but in the cold light of day my wife and I found that the room was very dirty from that moment on we decided not to have any food in the room.

I found this review very helpful because... It was the same as me!
