I've had a 60GB iPod Video for over a year now. It is definitely worth the money and still the lead in the industry. It is easy to use and easy to understand. I find though that some games are hard to play and some audio books are hard to set up in system. It's also easy to scratch the glass face… Read Full Review

Written on: 02/07/2007 by Black Ghost 7 (139 reviews written)

Slated by many, the iPod just remains the king of all MP3 players. It's design and sound quality really make me a happy chappy and once you get over the initial obsession of changing tracks and scrolling through your music list the battery life isn't all that bad. Videos kill your battery however! I can't imagine watching a full feature movie on an iPod anyway, but I seriously wonder whether the battery would last a full movie for a start!… Read Full Review

Written on: 01/12/2006 by NeoDude (1 review written)

It's an Apple iPod so you know the deal - it looks and plays superb. This time the memory gets a massive boost to 80gb which might be a bit overkill for your average music collection. The model I have is the iPod Video - if you want it just to play music then I would suggest going for a smaller sized model - the new Nano with a very reasonable 8gb might be best.

It's smooth, sleek, sexy and works well which is why it's the best MP3 player on the market… Read Full Review

The iPod video is a great investment. Small and thin, smaller than the previous versions of the iPod it boasts true portability with moderate cost. It's easy to use, and it's easy to upload. I'd recommend the iPod to my friends, if they all didnt have one already… Read Full Review

“Apple iPod 30GB (white) ”

Apple iPod 30GB (white)

I know you're all sick of hearing this, but the iPod is amazing, undoubtedly one of the finest creations of the 21st century. The genius of the click wheel, the amazing sound quality, and now, the inclusion of video has transformed what should be a fairly good MP3 player into a worldwide phenomenon. Everyone either has one or wants one, even if they are too stubborn to admit it. Or at least, this is the myth. You see, most people believe that the iPod is perfect in… Read Full Review

I want to get an MP3 player for Christmas. I had a Rio MP3 player last Christmas. However, it broke. The screen just stopped turning on, and I babied the thing, so I am not sure what went wrong there. Is the iPod Nano or iPod worth a Christmas present, or will I be disappointed?

I just have a comment on the screen size. The iPod video has improved greatly since their last 20Gb iPod. It's slimmer, and of course the screen is larger. But, as mentioned above in the Review, it says that it's not large enough. Well, personally I wouldn't want a large thing in my purse or pocket. You might as well just walk around with a TV. It's designed for an easy way to watch videos or TV shows, and now even movies, wherever your are. However, if you do have something that you would like to watch on TV, since the iPod is "too small", they sell TV connections so you can hook it up to the TV and watch it normally, without commercials or anything. Also, for the battery concern, I personally never complained about the battery life of the iPod, because, just like any other MP3 player, it's not going to last the full hours it says it does, and mine of course never does either, because I can never leave a song on for more then a minute. However, they do have car chargers and wall chargers, so you can keep it charged wherever you are.

Overall, personally I wouldn't really trust any other device, because there are not may players that have beat the iPod. Not in size quality, and all the options you have on it. Even after me losing the 30Gb black Video iPod, I am now going to use my Christmas money that I receive to buy a new one. I even considered buying another system of music, because I thought I could find something that was similar, but it didn't work. I looked at the Microsoft ZUNE. However, it's larger than the iPod, and I don't want it any bigger for carrying purposes. Also, many other MP3 players that play video do not have access to movies, added on games, and shows. To me the safest bet is the iPod. However, I am just one person, and I know that it's only my opinion.

Written on: 03/08/2006 by fatbunter (1 review written)

I have to say I do like iPod's. I think they are easy to use and cool little gadgets. However, I must warn people that you must be prepared to take back your iPod when it breaks, which it will! The first one I had broke (by over-heating) in 2 days. I took it back to Currys and got a new one straight away. This one lasted for about 5 months then broke (nobody could tell me why this time). I took it back and got gift certificates instead. If your iPod breaks they will take it back with pretty… Read Full Review

I must say that I partially agree. iPod are awesome gadgets, and they are addictive as well, because the first iPod I ever got was the silver iPod Mini. And yes, it broke. The battery life was acting all strange, and I would charge it all night, then the next morning I would turn it on and it would die right away. Of course, since I had a warranty I got a brand new one. However, not long after, the same thing happened. Then I just decided to get the iPod Video, and I retired the iPod Mini to my Dad. He hardly ever used it, but he never had problems. I loved the Video, and nothing ever happened, and it didn't break or anything. However, soon after, I lost it. So, then I went back to my iPod Mini, and it's standing strong. I still use it up to this day, and it stays charged and strong!

Very good piece of electronics. The Apple iPod Video screen is very big so great for watching videos. I know have plenty of space so I can put stuff on my iPod even if I don't listen to it much. Some podcasts which you can get on iTunes are really interesting especially HimynameisMark! I bought my ipod of Amazon for £189. It is a good price but I soon spent another £30 on essential accesseries like a charger and a decent case. So that knocks the overall price back upto £220. So the money… Read Full Review

Written on: 12/05/2006 by StuartLivingston (1 review written)

I upgraded from an iRiver 20 GB, which although a very good mp3 player was getting dated. The first huge advantage of the ipod was the simplicity of synchronising & downloading using itunes. A bit too easy so watch the bank account! The ease of use & speed compared with the iriver is phenomenal. My gripe however is itunes is a little limited on selection of music & makes transfer to other mp3 formats (deliberately) difficult if not impossible.
It looks amazing & when combined with the… Read Full Review

Written on: 21/04/2006 by Iain Macrae (17 reviews written)

I finally bought one of the Apple iPod Video in the hope of being able to carry around more than just a few CD's, and with the 30 Gig version I think I made a good choice. Over 1500 tracks on it so far and it's only at about 5 gig full.

The design, like most Apple stuff, is cool. The black version reflects light with a beautiful glint and the controls are simple yet so powerfull. They consist of one switch (Hold) which lock out inadvertent touches of the main front pad. This consists at first… Read Full Review

Written on: 12/04/2006 by virenb (10 reviews written)

The first thing that you notice about the ipod 5g is the amount of memory considering the size. A lot of other mp4 players are about twice the size of this ipod. This ipod is also a lot cheaper than other mp4 players which can go up to a price of about £450. The screen is still not as big as you would want when watching videos, but it is bigger than other models of the ipod. The biggest downside to this ipod is the battery life. It is more than enough when you are listening to music but is only… Read Full Review

I got my Apple iPod Video about a month ago and I'm very impressed with the video and picture quality. The screen is a good size and good to carry around. It is very user friendly. The videos are quite easy to put on as long as your not a novice with itunes. I would recommend it to any one as an MP4 player. The only downside to it is the battery life - when playing videos you can most probably play 6 four minute video all the way through on a full battery life - If this is too short for you can… Read Full Review

Written on: 14/02/2006 by GadgetGeek (2 reviews written)

The world's best music player just became even better with the addition of video capability! Although the Apple iPod Video only supports MPEG-4 and H.264 video, with some effort it is possible to convert other formats such as .avi and DivX so that the ipod understands them. Just like the previous ipods, the controls are easy and intuitive and the player is even more thin and sleek than before. I highly recommend this product!… Read Full Review

I have been indifferent to the iPod revolution in recent years, because I already owned an Archos Jukebox and knew little about the iTunes system. I got my 30GB Apple iPod Video in black on Xmas day, it's very simple to use with the exception of trying to download video.
