Just back from 2 weeks in the Cambrils Pins Playa 2 aparts. had a brill time.apartments spacious and clean(only thing is cleaners only came twice in 2 weeks and just handed in clean towels and bedlinen didnt actually clean the room or even make bed, i didnt mind tidying myself but some people would exspect it to be cleaned for them) beach fab endless walks along the promenade....!pool nice but wos very crowded prefered beach. great choice of restaurents nearby ie mucky duck, rugby tavern and chinise buffet but we prefered food at marius bar faboulous choice of food excellently cooked, the owners and staff were so welcoming also. aparts are in a nice location quieter than salou but just a short bus journey (24 hour bus service)

Cambrils Pins Platja Apartments Are Ok, Situated I
Cambrils Pins Platja apartments are ok, situated in good quiet spot but like other reviews request to be in block next to the sea, as the trains and the night shows are quite loud.
if staying for a couple of weeks may be worth a visit to cambrils or tarragona for shopping as food prices are high at the supermarket in the complex. lidl in cambrils.
Bus journey are short to salou and cambrils get a T-10 travel card for the bus, it works out 0.87 a journey instead 1.35euro etc
also instead of paying for a transfer get the plana bus from the airport cost 5.00 euro or 0.87 if you have a card. the cards can be purchased from tabacs(tobbaconist) which are located near by
If going to acropolis check near by restaurants for discount leaflets, we managed to get 10 euro off our trip.
Barcelona trips are quite rushed and much better to get train and move at your own pace also cheaper

The Apartment Pins Platja(playa)1 Was Clean, Comfo
The apartment Pins Platja(Playa)1 was clean, comfortable and quite well equipped. Liked the area and there was plenty of choice of bars and restaurants. Would stay again but not in a ground floor apartment or on the main complex because of the train lines behind it. May 2008

The Pins Platja/pins Playa Apartment Complex Is Si
The Pins Platja/Pins Playa apartment complex is situated on the main road between Salou and Cambrils. There are two parts to the apartment complex, situated either side of the road. We stayed in Pins Playa 1, which is situated literally right on the beach and seemed to comprise the slightly smaller apartments.
Our apartment had a bedroom with two single beds and a wardrobe, there was also a sofa bed that could cater for 2 more people. The apartments are self-catering and our apartment had a two ring electric hob, along with a fridge and microwave.
The apartment was well stocked with plates, cups, glasses, cutlery and saucepans and had a terrace balcony(well not actually a balcony in our case as we were on the ground floor, but it had it's own chairs and table).
We found the apartment to be modern and clean, but they had the electricity turned off on the fusebox behind the front door when we arrived which took a minute or two to figure out. If you need a toaster or cot, they can be hired at reception.
There were only three English speaking TV channels, the Travel Channel, BBC World and CNN, on the TV in the apartment.
Out front along the road were the Rugby Tavern and the Mucky Duck, both pubs/restaurants offering a good selection of reasonably priced British style meals along with various pizzas. They also show all the English football matches on Sky every day/night.
The noise from the pubs can be a little loud at night, but it doesn't go on too late and we found that other 'guests' banging doors in the middle of the night was more of a nuisance.
There is quite a nice medium sized supermarket across the road that's open 7 days and stays open till around 9pm and there's a bigger supermarket along Carrer de Barcelona in Salou if you really need it.
The reception for the Pins Playa complex is across the road in Pins Playa 2, which also has some bigger apartments. The receptionists were friendly helpful and spoke fluent English. But be aware that it is often early afternoon by the time the apartments are ready to move into, which is a problem when like us, your tour company arranges flights that see you arriving at the apartments at 10.30am in the morning. You have to leave a 120 Euro deposit when you check in which is returned when you check out, if there is no damage.
Fortunately, just off the reception they have a luggage room, though it isn't supervised. The apartments do not have a functioning room safe, so like us you'd be advised to take out a safe box in the room just off the reception area, they charge 16.50 Euro per week. The complex also has underground parking garages under both Pins Playa 1 and 2, entry is by a key operated automatic door, you can arrange a key at reception and they charge 6.50 Euro a day in peak season and 5.50 Euro a day off-peak. But you should note that some of the parking spaces are tricky to access and I wouldn't advise bringing a really big car, we had a Fiat Punto.
Parking along the roadside outside the complex isn't much of any option though, as it can be hard to find. But you don't really need a car, there's a taxi rank about a minute up the road and the bus stop with frequent buses is equally close. You can also hire bikes nearby(as many do) and enjoy the cycle paths that run alongside the path by the beach, down to Salou and up to Cambrils. We did this and it was very enjoyable.
There was a coin operated internet terminal in reception, but we didn't have much luck with it, the first time it wouldn't switch on and the second time, it couldn't seem to connect with the internet. There are internet cafes in Salou and along the seafront in Cambrils if you need it.
There is a small pool on the beach side of Pins Playa 1, while the main swimming pool is across the road. The pool is clean. modern and there is a lifeguard on duty from midmorning till 7pm. The reception is open 24 hours and is situated just yards from the poolside. It should be noted though, that the main railway line passes right at the back of Pins Playa 2.
