“I had my trusty Samsung E350 for two years before it...”

★★★★★

written by Anna Banana on 31/05/2009

I had my trusty Samsung E350 for two years before it gave out. In that time I struggled with the lack of Bluetooth and the fact that it was too small for phone socks (it fell out), but I was in love with its tough frame, brilliant screen, good camera and nice features. I would get this phone again any day, but sadly it's not available of my contract. I loved the sheer small-ness of it, the way that the keys were so small, the way I could carry it around in almost anything because it would fit anywhere. The one bad incident was when it fell down a drain, though. It went through so much - I dropped it on a train track, I lost it, I basically scratched the back off, and in the end the keys stopped working. The battery lasted - sometimes I just charge it to see the screen lit up, as it won ' t turn on. I recommend this phone to everyone who can live without Bluetooth!

“I've had this phone for over a year now. I was looking...”

★★★★☆

written by NatalieLornax on 11/11/2006

I've had this phone for over a year now. I was looking for a phone back then and I came across this one. It was to be my third mobile phone, and I really liked the look of it, and also the fact that it was a sliding phone. Also, it was at a very nice price.

I always check reviews for phones, and the Samsung E350 always had pretty good reviews.

The camera is very good, and the flash is also very bright, which is excellent in situations when there is little light. I really like the camera, and it isn't worth getting a digital camera because this is as good as. It has adequate zoom and a change to lighting on it.

The amount of memory in this little phone is amazing! At one point I had 200 pictures and more on my phone, and I still had more room on it. The memory is very impressive, and one of my favourite features.

Also, the fact that the screens resolution is really nice. The colours are simply amazing for such a little phone.

However; There is no bluetooth on this phone. Yes, we have infrared, but no bluetooth. Unless you have an infrared port on your laptop or PC, then you have no resource for putting music onto your phone, and I'm a very musical person, so this is important to me. Also, I can't put photo's from my phone to my laptop. This was a disadvantage also. The only way I could get music onto the phone was by using infrared from someone else's phone. However, I had the problem that hardly anyone had music I liked on they're phones, and then even if they did, infrared is slow. It takes about 20 - 30 minutes to transfer a music file, but it's very quick for photos. I like the infrared for the photo's, but not for the music.

The battery life is very low. I text a lot and take photo's almost every day. Therefore, I'm a heavy user of my phone. I end up having to charge it every two days if I'm lucky.

Also, the appearance is often ruined as this phone is prone to scratching and breaking.

I would have recommended this phone maybe last year, but not this year. It is dated now, especially with the lack of bluetooth.

This Samsung E350 phone is amazing! It's wicked In every way, so easy to load mp3's onto it and can fit quite a few. More memory for mp3's would be good and it lacks bluetooth but infer-read is on the phone so that's a good point. I recommend it to any one, buy this phone, it's amazing!
Seriously, buy it now, it's not too much money and a great style phone!

written by kaira on 03/07/2006

The Samsung E350 mobile phone is stylish and it has good features. OK, it lacks bluetooth and it doesn't have heaps of memory, but what do you expect for that price? Mine has also broken, and some of the buttons don't work when pressed, and when opened fully the screen goes off.

It breaks far too easily, and there is not a good signal with O2, but if it didn't break it would be a great phone!

I love the Samsung E350 mobile phone. It's so good, I've only had it about 2 weeks and I love it. The only problem is the lack of bluetooth, but I'm only 13, so only business people will need bluetooth, and the infrared makes up for it.

“I can't understand why people are finding it so...”

★★★★★

written by micag001 on 29/04/2006

I can't understand why people are finding it so difficult to load MP3's on the Samsung E350 mobile phone. I just connected the phone via infra-red to my laptop, and I was listening to my favourite MP3 tunes within minutes of purchasing this awesome phone.

It is a great phone in every aspect. This is the 3rd mobile phone I have owned. My first was a Nokia 3310, and the second was a Siemens M55, and all I can say is this the first mobile phone that fully satisfies me (3310 was bulky and rather limited in functions; M55 was loaded with functions, but the screen was a disappointment). It's just the perfect blend of design, features, excellent screen, and small size form factor on the market right now.

I was also considering a Motorola V360 for the same price, and although the V360 also has a slot for memory expansion, it's simply not as good-looking as the E350.

Hi, I've never tried transferring music files between 2 mobile phones over Infra-red connection; I'm not sure it would work. The important thing is that once the download is ready, the received file must be looked for in the 'Music' file; if it's not there, look for it inside 'Other files'.

Most laptops come with an infra red port (look on the laptop's manual as different laptops have their infra red port on different sides). Desktops don't usually have infra red port, so you have 2 options:
1) Buy an infra red USB dongle and attach it to a USB port on your computer
2) Buy a USB cable and connect your mobile phone to your computer via the cable (i.e. no infra red port involved if you choose this option). I think this is a better option as both options are very cheap but USB cable is much faster than an infra red port. You can find a USB cable for less than £3.

Hi, this is what I do to upload mp3 to my Samsung SGH-E350: 1) Turn on the computer's infra red port (2) turn on the mobile's infra red port (3) align the computer's & mobile's infra red ports together and wait a few seconds (4) the computer will automatically recognize the mobile phone; an infra red icon appears in your system tray and a dialog balloon comes up from the bottom right corner of your computer screen saying 'another computer is nearby, Click here to send files to the computer SGH E350'; dismiss the message (5) on your computer, open the folder containing the mp3 you want to upload to your mobile (6) right click on the mp3 and a pop-down menu appears (7) scroll down to 'send to' on the pop-down menu and another pop-down menu appears (8) on the 2nd menu click on 'nearby computer' (9) your mobile will ask you to confirm whether u want to recieve the mp3; push the 'Yes' button on your mobile (10) transfer of the mp3 from your computer to your mobile will start; be patient as infra red connection is quite slow (11) when the transfer is complete the mobile will inform you and you can then open the mp3 player on your mobile (located in 'Applications' menu) (12) when the mp3 player opens on your mobile, press 'Options' (left softkey), click 'Add to list' and select 'Add all' (13) a list of mp3 on your phone will be displayed and you can choose those mp3 and press play. I hope this is clear enough for you and that you are successful :)

Trust me, if you are looking to buy a mobile phone and you don't have a clue which one to get, choose the Samsung E350. It is amazing!! I was in the same boat as you a few days ago, and now I am so glad I chose to spend my money on this phone.

Hi, I also own a Samsung E350 and I never had any difficulty loading mp3 into the phone. You can buy a USB cable, but I used the phone\'s infra red connection to transfer mp3 from my laptop onto it. Infra red is a bit slow for a 4-5MB mp3, but nevertheless it works perfectly. I just switch on the phone\'s infra red connection and align it to my laptop\'s infra red port. Windows XP automatically recognises the phone and establishes a connection. Then just right click on the mp3 you want to send to your phone and a pop-down menu appears: click the option \'send to nearby computer\'. The phone will ask you whether you want to accept the file; you just have to click \'Yes\' and that\'s it; transfer begins automatically. It\'s even easier with the USB cable as the computer will recognize the phone as a USB mass storage device (i.e. as if the phone were a USB flash pen drive). Hope this information is useful to you.

written by o2guy on 20/01/2006

The Samsung E360 mobile phone is an excellent update to the popular E800 slider, now a little smaller, with MP3 player and a black shell. It is the perfect compact mobile phone for those who aren't that bothered about mega-pixel cameras and Bluetooth.

Overall, this is an excellent handset for under £100 on some networks on PAYG, and free on pay monthly.

“I got the Samsung E350 mobile phone for Christmas in...”

★★★★★

written by shoqueen on 31/12/2005

I got the Samsung E350 mobile phone for Christmas in the pink version. I was surprised at how small it was. It is small enough to lose in my pocket. It is really easy to use (honestly, you won't need the manual), and in five minutes I knew exactly how to use it.

It has everything you need, including a good quality camera and video capture, MP3, infrared, and voice recording etc. The camera has lots of effects like black and white and sketch, and about 30 frames, which is a fun feature. The slide design is cool, and it has a quality chunky feel with no bumps.

This phone is perfect, and just as good as the much more expensive d500.

HELP! I can't get my Samsung E350 mobile phone off silent. I've lost the manual, and as far as I know, I have done everything to try and get it off silent. Any suggestions? Maybe there is something I forgot. I have gone into quiet mode, and all that's in there is MUTE and VIBRATE. The silent icon is on the phone. It's doing my head in! lol

Overall, the Samsung E350 is an excellent mobile phone, with many features such as photo/video messaging, MP3 player, infrared, WAP and email. I have owned this phone for about a month, but I am very impressed with the build quality and screen colours.

The only disadvantage to this phone is the lack of Bluetooth technology, otherwise this is an excellent buy.

The Samsung E350 mobile phone is a great buy, and highly recommended. Some people have commented on the lack of bluetooth, but if you don't use it, like me, this is a perfect phone.

It is really easy to use, and small enough to fit in my smallest bag. The coverage for me (Oxford) is brilliant.

I don't have a bad word to say about this phone.

written by adasim on 16/11/2005

Although the Samsung E350 mobile phone looks cool, and it has good picture quality and a good camera, it is highly tempermental. Mine has broken down in 6 different ways, including loss of sound, screen, and malfunction of buttons. The camera does not have a zoom function, but is otherwise good. Reception is often poor around Birmingham. The sound and silent settings are annoying and difficult to use. The layout of icons on the screen is good, and generally it is quite easy to use, though it does make a lot of annoying little sounds!

If your phone doesn't have a zoom facility then you're not using it correctly. I have the Samsung E350 and mine has zoom on it. Check your manual!

“I've been using my Samsung E350 mobile phone for...”

★★★★☆

written by linzilou1980 on 27/09/2005

I've been using my Samsung E350 mobile phone for around a fortnight now, and having previously owned a Nokia 6230i I was seduced by the style of this phone. It's very small (good handbag size!), and the slide function is handy, although you can access the majority of settings from the menu while the phone is "closed", only really needing to open it to send text messages.

The functions on the phone are reasonable easy to use. However, sometimes I feel like I'm pressing buttons for ages until I can get to the task that I'm trying to do. There are so many options to get through!

One major drawback I find on the E350 is that there is no Bluetooth, and no removable memory card, which means having to fork out for a data cable to transfer MP3 files and photos, between my PC and the phone.

All in all, it's a cool looking phone, and does what it says on the tin. However, I can't help but wonder if I should have maybe gone for the Sony Ericsson K750i, which has all the extra features, but looks a bit chunky IMO.

So if you want a snazzy looking phone, this will be the one for you, but if you transfer files back and forth frequently (like I used to do), be aware of the need for a data cable which you can buy on eBay for approx £10.

PS The data cable for the Samsung D500 works with the E350.

“Right, I got my Samsung E350 mobile phone today. This...”

written by phil8 on 14/09/2005

Right, I got my Samsung E350 mobile phone today. This is only going to be a quick review, but I have to say, I'm really really impressed!! This phone is absolutely tiny! It looks like the D500, except it is even smaller! You could honestly lose it in your shirt pocket! A very stylish little piece of kit! Some might say the design is a bit girly, but I love it! It makes a cool sound when you flip it open, which rocks. The first thing you have to do when you get it, is turn off all the annoying keypad/confirmation tones - easy! Then, you have an amazing phone!

The software is very quick and very intuitive! You honestly won't need to pick up the instruction manual. I was a die hard Nokia fan, but I think I have been converted. I am a really BIG texter, and this phone is as easy to text on as my Nokia 6230. You just have to get used to the fact that you press '0' to change words in predictive, and that the # key is used for a space. After one day, I'm texting as fast as I used to on my 6230. The software is quick and bug free. You can move from menu to menu with ease. The MP3 ringtones are cool, and the screen is bright and vibrant with excellent graphics. The camera is very impressive considering the stats, and you can add loads of cool effects and surrounds to the photos too, which is a fun feature. Fair enough, your not going to take your wedding photos on this camera phone, but its fine for that drunken picture to put in a MMS when you're in the pub with your mates.

Great price too! I paid £140 for it on O2 pay and go. I think you can get it for £120 on Orange pay and go. Considering what your getting, this is very very cheap! The price will probably come down even more by Christmas!!

However, there is no Bluetooth, and it has limited memory (41MB), but if this is not a problem for you (I have an iPod and I don't need Bluetooth) then go and buy this phone, you honestly won't regret it! I was a hardcore Nokia fan (come on, any chav can own a Nokia), but now I have been converted! Well done Samsung - this is a great phone!!!!

I have had my Samsung E350 mobile phone for nearly 2 weeks now, and it's great!! I recommend it to anyone. Lots of people say it's disappointing because it has no bluetooth, but surely you know that before you buy it? So don't buy it if you want one with bluetooth!! I have no need for bluetooth, and this is why I chose this phone. I have had many different phones, and this is the best one I have had by far. I'm really glad I chose this phone.
