The Moulinex JuiceMaster Duo juicer is very simple to use. It is reliable, and it has a strong motor. I have used many others, which have also been more expensive, and none come up to this standard.

An excellent buy!!

“Getting a Juicer had often come up for discussion in...”

★★★★★

Getting a Juicer had often come up for discussion in our house but there was usually some reason that the particular model was rejected, either it was too expensive, or too big - or it came at a time when fruit was particularly expensive.

When we saw the Moulinex JuiceMaster Duo, with it's 200 watt motor, it seemed just right for our needs. It was reasonably compact, reasonably inexpensive and also had the added advantage of having a centrifugal juicer with an interchangeable citrus press.

The appearance is rather pleasing and, being not too large; it fits into a much smaller space than a lot of others. It measures approximately eight inches (approx. 20cm) in diameter and stands about eleven inches (approx. 28cm) high including the funnel. The base is white and round and the top part - or pulp container is clear plastic with a blue tinge. This has a stainless steel anti-drip spout, which means that you can raise the spout when not pouring juice.

The base has a clip frame that holds three glasses which can be moved into position beneath the spout ready for pouring the juice. This, of course, adds to the size slightly but can easily be removed if not required. I find it a rather attractive feature and like the idea of having glasses on hand ready to receive the juice.

Inside the pulp container there is a stainless steel filter which, of course, is for use with the centrifugal juicer - juicing such things as apples, carrots, strawberries, melons and the like. There are also two speeds for juicing these fruits, the obviously softer and juicier ones: grapes, melons, tomatoes, etc. needing less speed than the harder ones. The funnel size (approx. two and a half inches by one and a quarter) means that the fruit has to be cut quite small but the resulting pulp is very dry so obviously the maximum amount of juice is extracted. It makes very easy work of apples, carrots and ginger, being some of the harder things I have tried - and a very pleasant mix. Peaches juice well - mangoes don't - well they DO if you want a smoothie type, otherwise you will have to dilute!

To use the citrus press you have to remove the lid and filter from the pulp container and replace with the citrus press sieve and cone. I should add that all the parts have to be locked into place before it will work. Citrus fruits: oranges, lemons, limes, etc. need the slower speed setting and you should be careful that the pouring spout is in the 'down' position before you start - hopefully with one of the glasses underneath as well! A great 'wake-up' drink is: One and a half oranges, half a lemon and half a lime - a real 'zing' of a juice!

The pulp container has a 0.7 litre capacity. All parts (with the obvious exception of the base containing the motor) are dishwasher safe - although I have found that they wash quite quickly with an initial rinse under the tap. Moulinex have added a small cleaning brush for use with the filter which is quite handy. There is also storage space in the base for the cord. Included with the purchase was a voucher for a book: "The Juice Master's Ultimate Fast Food" by Jason Vale. This retails at £8.99 but the voucher allows you to get it for the postage and packing price of £2.00

I have to say that I have been very impressed with this buy and, having tested the juice on a neighbour, whose juicer cost three times as much; feel that it was well worth the £34.00 we paid for it. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who, like me, wanted a smaller model.

I hope this well help you make a decision - thank you for reading
