I received a Next gift card for christmas and decided to use it to order online sales items (The Italian cable knit jumpers are excellent quality) I placed my order last Saturday (24th March) and was surprised to receive a parcel on Monday Containing one of the three items I ordered + a Next directory. Two days later the courier called again. I expected it to be my other two items, but it was ANOTHER Next directory. This morning, a week since my order, I emailed their customer service to ask where my missing items are. Instead of replying to my email, I received an automated email stating that I will receive the items within the next two days. No explanation or apology for the delay. They make a big fuss about "Order by 9pm for next-day delivery", but it will be 10 days from ordering by the time I receive my items. I won't be ordering from them again. My TWO copies of the Next directory will be going into my recycling bin tomorrow.

I will not use NEXT Directory for home delivery any more until they ditch Hermes as their courier. Hermes is one of the worse courier companies in the country. Every single item I've ordered has been dispatched by Next super-quick, every item has been in stock and the right size. The PROBLEM is that ALL home delivery orders are sent via the courier Hermes. Seriously, google "Hermes courier complaints" for thousands upon thousands of unsatisfied customers. Just add me to that list. Three times now I've waited in all day and my order hasn't arrived. NEXT's customer service tries their best but it's clear that those clowns of a courier company don't tell them anything. I will continue to shop in NEXT's stores, but I will not use their online delivery account service any more until they stop using the joke that is Hermes.

I have used Next quite a lot recently, and my biggest problem is that they make you set up a Credit account, rather than allowing you just to buy the products outright. Then, when you try and view your statements online, they are completely confusing and difficult to find. It is also difficult to work out how much money you need to pay. The products were ok (I bought some dresses), but I also bought some similar dresses from M&S and Debenhams and the quality was FAR superior. Sort out your online Directory, Next. You could do so much better.

Great way to shop if you don't mind paying quite a lot in extras. Such as the APR which is high, the cost of the catologues (which should be free since they would have a captive audience) and similar things are slightly higher in cost than eleswhere.
