written by adamwest on 21/07/2008

Was probably the best restaurant in Worcester, without a doubt. The food was innovative, tasted excellent, was well presented and plenty of it. No namby pamby portions here, and everything was cooked fresh. Unfortunately, it's closed and going to be turned into flats. What is the world coming to, when a fine restaurant like this being is forced to close? The people of Worcester have lost a fine restaurant with a fine chef.

I have been a regular diner at the Sauce Factory for several years now and just don't bother going anywhere else. The service and company is first class, the atmosphere spot on, the food incredible! What on earth we will do as and when David and Dimple have to close I don't know! I did suggest to David that he cooks me 50 shoulders of lamb to be frozen, but even then, without the unique experience that is the Sauce Factory, it just wouldn't be the same! All we can hope for is that the Thatchers find an alternative premises in Worcester from where they can continue to serve up only the finest of dishes.

I am a regular visitor to Worcester and I have nearly always eaten at the Sauce Factory and I have never been disappointed.
I find it such a shame that Worcester is loosing one of it's finest restaurant. I hope that the Chef remains in the city.

I have been frequenting the Sauce Factory now for a good few months and I am always amazed at the quality of the cuisine, the chef has with no surprise won an award for his culinary achievements. What a shame he will be closing soon. I for one will continue to be a regular there as long as they are still there.

The food at The Little Sauce Factory in Worcester was just amazing! I had the lamb, and it just fell off the bone. It was beautiful! My girlfriend had chicken, and she loved it. We had starters as well, and they were also great. We should have saved room for dessert! We drank bottle of wine, beer and a vod-soda, and it all came to just over £50.

The service was relaxed but efficient, and the staff were very friendly and chatty, and they helped round off a great experience. They were very open to giving advice and recommending things. They were not in our face while we ate, but they kept an eye on us.

I would highly recommend this place to a friend, and my girlfriend wants to go back to Worcester just to eat there again.

Five stars ~ ten out of ten ~ however you look at it, it was fantastic!

I'm new to Worcester, and found this restaurant through your review site.
I feel that this fantastic restaurant should have more exposure, The Chef is very entertaining and very skillful. The food is top notch and compares easily with London's best. It was a shame that when we were there on Friday it was only half full, with food of this quality it should be heaving. My wife and I will be returning soon with friends from London and they will be so envious. I will be recommending this little gem to all and sundry.

The food is freshly cooked, and as it is an open kitchen, so you can see the chef at work. I ordered the dimple chicken, which was devoured in no time. The chicken had a real European flavour to it. The wine, which was recommended by the waiting staff, complemented the food.

The Little Sauce Factory in Worcester is without doubt the best restaurant in town!

25th May 2007 - We have just booked a table for six at The Sauce Factory based on the information on the Review Centre web site. I will let you know tomorrow how the experience was.

Found your site very helpful. Well done!

Follow up Review (28th May 2007)...

I said I would write a review, and here it is. Thanks to this web site I was guided to The Little Sauce Factory. I read the other reviews, and I was a bit dubious. No restaurant could be that good! How wrong could I be?

We booked a table for six, and arrived at 7:30pm. The restaurant was quite lively. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, and we were shown to our table. The menu was distinctive and written with humour. We ordered, and the food took a little time, but it was well worth the wait!

Three of us had the half a shoulder of lamb, which has got to be the best I have ever tasted! My friend said that his fillet steak was cooked to perfection. The girls had the Chicken Dimple, and they agreed that it was fantastic. We had a couple of bottles of Rioja, and we finished with some liqueur coffee's. We sat for hours enjoying the busy atmosphere and the banter with the Chef, who came out of the kitchen to speak to us and the other customers.

We had a great time, and we shall return.
I recommend this establishment to everybody.

The portions are generous to say the least. The wine, which was the choice of the waitress, complimented the Duck. The evening was everything I could have wished for. I wouldn't take my Princess any where else.

My wife chose the lamb, and as usual it was cooked to perfection. The great thing about The Little Sauce Factory in Worcester is the fact you can see it being cooked.

I've already booked my table for next month.

★★★★★

written by Ish123 on 21/05/2007

Although I have reviewed The Little Sauce Factory for its normal al la carte menu, I thought it may be of interest to try their Sunday lunch, and what a joy it was!

They are open from 12:30 to 4:30 (last food orders). We arrived around 4pm, after shopping in town, and we were warmly greeted. The menu was explained to us by the chef himself. I chose the roast Sirloin of beef, my wife had the shoulder of lamb, and my son had the stuffed breast of chicken. After a 15 minute wait, the food arrived; and my God, what a feast! The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and they were all fresh. The roast potatoes, well... they were a mix of potatoes, parsnips, carrots and onions all roasted together. My beef was just to die for, and it was served with a ale gravy. My wife's lamb fell off the bone, and it was served with a mint gravy. And my sons chicken... He said it was the best he's ever had.

We will now be regulars on Sundays as well.

P.S. The Wadsworth 6X was a perfect complement to the food! What a great day out!

written by Nigel Bolton on 18/05/2007

I have been going there since the restaurant opened. The food is excellent, and very well priced compared to the rest of Worcester. The quality is far superior to other establishments nearby, such as The Glass House and Benedicto's. I would particularly recommend trying the Tapas and Lamb dishes.

The Little Sauce factory in Worcester is an excellent restaurant, with a great atmosphere. The food is superb, and very good value for money!

I've been going to Worcester for many years, and I've eaten in many of Worcester's fine establishments. However the food at The Sauce Factory, to my mind, is superior.
Everything is cooked fresh to order in an open kitchen, so you can see what the Chef is doing.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, either living in or thinking of visiting Worcester.

I have been eating there for a few years now, and only once have I had an OK meal.
Normally the food is superb and served in generous portions. Another attraction is it has parking, and if you have too much to drink you are always invited to leave your car there.

The Little Sauce Factory in Worcester is well worth a visit. The Worcester News ran a review last year, and I quote, "The Sauce Factory Remains one of Worcesters finest restaurants".

written by chadjackson on 12/05/2007

I have eaten at many restaurants throughout Worcester, my favourite was always the Old Rectifying House. I was recommended by a colleague to try the Little Sauce Factory and I wasn't disappointed!! From the moment my wife and I entered the building we were made to feel very welcome by the chef/owner and his partner. After browsing through the menu at our leisure and placing our order, we sat at the bar area, chatting to the staff and some of the regulars before our food was ready. When the food arrived it was out of this world!! The portions are very generous and the prices are surprisingly competitive. We were never rushed during our starters or mains as the tables are booked for the evening, not just for a quick meal.
After filling up on the fantastic main courses, we returned to the bar area where we chatted to the owner as if we'd known each other for years!!

I can safely say that the Little Sauce Factory is a wonderful place to dine amongst friendly, warm people. It's Worcester's best kept secret!!!

So, goodbye Old Rectifying House and hello Little Sauce Factory!!

Warm friendly atmosphere, fantastic food cooked to order while you wait. Open Kitchen so you can watch your food being cooked. Laid back and unrushed - plenty of time to eat your food, you book your table for the evening not just the meal. Classic Jazz and tinpan alley background music, nothing going bang bang here. I highly recommend it. A good time was had by all - even the chef came out to talk to us!
