So Air Scandic Is No Longer Here Not Suprising My
so air scandic is no longer here not suprising my worst flight ever it was late oldest jet i have ever flown on just rubbish i should have known when jet was hidden round back of gatwick i feel better now!
I flew back with air scandic 6 year ago from Crete, we had to emergency land in Italy as the plane was that old and not capable of flying. Heard nothing afterwards! Cowboys airline! [email protected]
Ok, So The Flight We Took In 2004 Is 8 Years Ago,
Ok, so the flight we took in 2004 is 8 years ago, but I thought I would have a good old winge anyway.
We flew from Manchester to Preveza on a busy hot sunday evening in August 04. Check in staff at Manchester were rude and abrupt and the queue was very long, with only 1 desk open.
After the bags were checked in, we were told there was to be a indefinate delay of around 8 hours. This was due to the fact that the plane we were to fly on, had still not left for Kefalonia (the flight before ours! so our plane had to fly Man-Efl and back and then take us to preveza!
We were given £2.50 food vouchers each and told to get some rest. So 11pm came and went, and the flight to kefalonia had still not left manchester!
To cut a long story short, we left at 11am next day on a different plane. crew were unhelpful, food unappetising. Landing was dreadful and weather in preveza was awful too....just to top it off!
Coming back we had the same problem, we were delayed for 18 hours, forced to have a stopover in Kefalonia Airport and landed in the Uk at East Midlands Airport, and then endured a 4 hour coach ride to Manchester Airport.
We booked with Kosmar, they were fab....but air scandic weren't.

I Worked For Air Scandic For 2 Years And I Have To
I worked for Air Scandic for 2 years and I have to say that it was the best airline I have ever worked for!! The crew were great and thats what made the company special as it made passengers feel at ease! Being a small airline, there was a particular 'family feel' and if it were to return to Manchester base, all the old crew would jump at a chance to be re-employed by them.

I thoroughly enjoyed my flight to Sanford with Air Scandic and would recommend them to anyone. The cabin crew made the flight, they were helpful, friendly, but most of all a pleasure, they looked like they enjoyed their job,
If Anyone Ever Tells You To Go On Holiday With Kos
If anyone ever tells you to go on holiday with Kosmar through Scandic Airways do not do it. I would not recommend this at all having my experience last August. I know Scandic no longer exist but I find that totallty relevant as even if they sold all their planes they would still only be able to buy a Nissan Micra with the money made. Planes were museums and I thought I was going to die. The stewards did not speak English and they did not even inform us we were going to land. when got to Kos after a 24 hr delay oh and a £4.50 food voucher courtosy of EMA which as you can imagine bought us a milkshake each! We were greeted with tired looking reps who could not sympathise with our last experience and just shoved us in hotels!I could go on and on, but to round it up it was the most awful experience I have ever had, and the insurance posted a valid cheque worth £40 for all our trouble, which can I just say was spent alone at the airport in a 24 hr delay on food alone, but thanks for the kind gesture ey?

Although It Is Irrelevant Now That Air Scandic No
Although it is irrelevant now that Air Scandic no longer exist, I thought I'd add my comments to the website anyway.
After reading reports on this and other similar websites, I was dreading my Kosmar holiday to Crete. The flight out there from East Midlands was on time, and the flight back (albeit with another company) was on time. The aircraft was old, and I believe owned by JetX anyway, but all the horror stories I've read about Air Scandic did not apply to our holiday.

Our Flight With Air Scandic, Going To Tenerife On
Our flight with Air Scandic, going to Tenerife on the 5th August was extremely good and so was my family's flight the following week when they came to join us on the 12th August. The problem came when I telephoned the Flight Centre to confirm the flight home and was told that we would not be going to Stansted after all that we had all been booked onto a flight to Birmingham which would not leave Tenerife until 9.45 p.m. Had we been on the original flight we would have all been at home tucked up in our beds. I asked the Flight Centre what the problem was and was first told that the flight had been cancelled, but it transpires that the flight was overbooked and that 16 passengers had to be transferred to other flights. The nightmare did not end there after being promised that a coach would be a Birmingham Airport to take us back to Stansted we were greeted with the words "Oh sorry the driver has gone because he thought that your flight was delayed and we cannot get in touch with him to come back" At around 5am on Saturday morning 2 mini buses arrived to bring us back to Stansted. We arrived home around 13 hours after schedule.
On asking Freedom Flights with whom we booked these flights to look into it we were told that Air Scandic had "CEASED TRADING" so compensation is out of the question. Where do we go from here, it spoiled my twin son's 21st birthday which was on the Saturday we were travelling. Also we had my 2 year old grandson with us which as you can appreciate was a nightmare experience for him. Book with Freedom Flights or Air Scandic again. NOT LIKELY!!!!! What was a fantastic family holiday turned into the nightmare from hell just to get home.

The Flight Was Perfect No Delays My Family Thought
The flight was perfect no delays my family thought the staffwere very polite. The only thing is the meals were disgusting but apart from that everything was ok. We were that happy with the airline we are booking up with Air Scandic again next year.

We Were Due To Fly To Kefalonia On Sunday 7/8/05 A
We were due to fly to Kefalonia on Sunday 7/8/05 at 14:55, but found that the flight was 'indefinitely delayed'. We checked in, and only AFTER we had checked in our luggage, were we told that we couldn't go through to departures because of the flight delay. At 18:30 a Servis Air worker told us 'off the record' that if we didn't get a flight by 19:30 then we wouldn't be leaving that night, and he honestly couldn't see where they were going to find a flight from! Still no info was given officially, except the offer of a meal voucher. We saw two other groups of people from other delayed flights being taken to hotels for the night, but still heard nothing about ours. One man told us he had been waiting since Friday night for his flight. Eventually we were told that they had found us a flight and we would be leaving at 3am. Not ideal but at least we wouldn't lose too much of the holiday. The plane finally arrived at 6am. During that time, no apologies and very little explanation was offered. We all had to spend the night in the airport and we very strongly suspected that the 3am story was a ploy to get out of putting us up in a hotel. The plane that we went on was very old, tatty and the crew were not very helpful, as some people had been allocated seats which did not exist! There was no row C on the plane but some people had seats in row C. The aircrew were quite snappy with a couple of people in explaining that row C was actually row D, obviously! We lost one night and most of the first day of our holiday, because although we landed at midday, we were too tired to do anything except check in and sleep!
On the way back, we had the same plane and the same aircrew. This time there were no delays, in fact the airport made every effort to get us through check in as fast as possible to make up for the outward journey! We even took off early. However, the flight was very turbulent and the speakers weren't working properly at the back of the plane where we were sat, so even when the captain, or one of the crew tried to explain anything or give us any information, we couldn't hear it properly. We were fed heated sandwiches and a packet of shortbread as our evening meal, but the galley wasn't big enough to heat all the sandwiches at once, so about 30 of us at the back had to wait an extra 20 minutes for our food. The landing was erratic to say the least, and I would never fly with them again!
Agree with Melanie about condition of plane. No delays going or coming back but state of plane very poor - dirty and very tatty. At back on both journeys - extremely noisy. Could not hear any messages from pilot or from stewrds doing safety talk. As travelling with first time flyers not at all satisfactory - extremely dangerous! Crew on way out barely smiled at each other, let alone the passengers. On way back had similar problems with seating. About half a dozen or so passengers, including us, had been given non exisitent seats. Would be very unhappy to fly with them again. Unfortunately going with Kosmar again in two weeks so hope won't be with Air Scandic - have they gone bust? Hope so. Worst company I've flown with.

We Only Got Told That There Was Going 2 B A Delay
We only got told that there was going 2 b a delay 5 mins before we were due to take off. No one at Air Scandic would tell us why this was, and the reps were very unhelpful.
Coaches were sent to take us to the hotel, but not enough seats or hotel rooms for us all so had to wait until 12.45am for a bus to get us. Eventually got to the hotel, the weren't expecting us and the bus driver had already left. We were offered no food, and some people had children. Had 23hr delay, the Kosmar desk at EMA remained closed so didn't know what was happening. We were given 3 different reasons for the plane not taking off. We dont know if we were entitled to compensation as everyone we ask just passes the buck-no one will take responsibility for what happened.
Seating plan was given for the wrong plane so no one knew where they were sitting. Landing was the worst I'd ever had, thought the plane was going to topple over. On the way back, we only had an hour delay suppose we were lucky. Got back to EMA and again, the buck was passed and still none the wiser of what to do next. Will never fly with Air Scandic again, or Kosmar.
