I just can't compete with all that's been written about Dzing! I don't know that I would have noticed it amongst all of the super-powerhouse fragrances - it just didn't stand out in the shop. Lucky for me they gave me a decant and I can experience Dzing at my leisure. Lucky me.

Dzing! L'artisan is the most unusual fragrance I've ever encountered. I couldn't exactly place the smell, but when I read Chandler Burr's description there it was--cardboard. It puts me in mind of leather as well, and various other earthbound elements. Oh, and a little bit of a metallic essence, too. Now, that isn't to say it smells bad. Quite the contrary, in my opinion. When I wear it now Dzing reminds me of how it feels to be in the dirt during a cold summer rain shower. It feels lovely and strange, and kind of wrong-in-a-good-way all at the same time.
Dzing has a rather nice smell once you get used to how different it is compared to everything else, but it definitely isn't for everyone. It's such a complicated fragrance that not all who smell it will eventually be able to enjoy it. In fact, some will just plain hate it. I didn't love it upon my first whiff, but now I enjoy wearing it from time to time because it's so different. Give it a few tries before you decide what you think about it.
