“Terrible online service ”

Bought 2 dresses online last week. Arrived, one faulty and the other the wrong size sent. Sent them back the following day in the same parcel. Had email this morning telling me they have processed refund for one of the dresses. Called customer service and told them that the parcel contained 2 dresses and was told that I had to prove that there was 2 dresses in the parcel before they would refund me!! Have been reading reviews and apparently Hobbs make a habit of doing this on a regular basis. Never again will I order from them

“Over £200 spent, no parcel recieved.”

It has been nearly a month and I still have not received my parcel. Contacting Hobbs was inconvenient - the 'contact us' from was broken, and a representative I spoke to via live chat disappeared half way through the conversation. Finally, they told me I would receive the parcel within the next 24 hours. No sign of it. I asked for a refund, but they said they are unable to process it until the parcel arrives. While I understand this is partially the courier's fault, I am disappointed with Hobbs. The staff from the customer service team I emailed with were all quite disinterested in the matter, and it did not feel like they were dealing with it rigorously. So seems like I lost over £200..... Quite appalling for a brand like Hobbs, which is deemed reputable, and why I shopped with them in the first place. I will avoid them from now on.

“Elizabeth Boots from Hobbs that lasted for one wearing”

I have bought clothes in Hobbs over the years and shoes. Recently I spent £149 on a pair of lovely Elizabeth ankle boots, reduced from £199. Nice. However the very first time I wore them the heel was damaged terribly. The boots were not damaged all over. I had not abused them in any way. The leather was not attached properly to the plastic heelor it would not have torn so very easily but the Manager of the shop said that evidently they should not have worn outside but that they would get them repaired which I took to mean sending them to a specialist Hobbs repairer. Fine. However they were done in half an hour as they simply took the boots down to the shoe repair shop that does things while you wait, downstairs in Intu Bromley. Not surprisingly it was an imperfect job done at speed but that was it. Take it or leave it. Thought I was dealing with a nicer shop. No more.

“pushy sales staff”

The clothes are lovely but the sales staff pounce on me every time I walk through the door at the Edinburgh branch with the result that I usually prefer to make my purchase at the franchise at John Lewis or Jenners where I am free to consider my own choice. I went to look for a below knee coat, the assistant produced one coat after another that got so progressively shorter that the final option was more of a jacket. They really need to learn to listen to the customer and impose less. The impression given is that they are quite desperate to sell. Too many garments are dry clean only when it is not required and adds greatly to the cost of the garment.

“Hobbs -Good clothes but telephone customer service is poor”

I ordered Adele coat online yesterday Thursday, 2nd of August at 7pm and requested the next day delivery and paid extra for it.The next day at 8.30 am i received an email saying 'we are please to inform you that your order has now been despatched via curier.Your order will be delivered within 1 working day via the curier and the driver will require a signature on delivery'. So i stayed at home and waited for the driver to arrive. After 5 hours i rang customer service and wanted to check on the progress of the delivery to be told that when i made my purchace a table was there explaining to me that because i bought my item after 4 pm it won't be delivered today but on Monday.I felt that the lady on the phone was quite snotty and had an attitude problem and made me feel like a complete idiot for not reading the terms and conditions and missing out on that table. I appreciate that i didn't read the terms and conditions and it was silly of me not to notice the table with 4 pm information, but the email i received this morning and the wording in it, as well as the option on the website which clearly states 'next day delivery' and the acceptance of my extra payment for the service all led me to believe that i would get my item today and i really don't appreciate to be talked down to and made to feel stupid for not reading the full information. So i called the customer service again and politely explained to them that from a customer point of view, they could indicate the same post 4pm purchace information in the email they sent out to customer to avoid misunderstandings in the future, but i got interrupted again with the same box standards answers and felt they really didn't listen to me or cared, she just said she will pass it on and i felt the tone of her voice was really insincere. I believe Hobbs brand represents great quality, elegance and class, its a shame that it is such a mismatch between the brand and the service on offer.

“I only consider buying sale items because the quality...”

I only consider buying sale items because the quality doesn,t live up to the colours. The colours and the comfort are usually quite good but the poor quality of the materials is not always too good.
