I've played all of the major brands over the past 24 years.I've owned my 7 peice Rockstar for four years now. They sound awesome with a decent set of heads. You can check mine out at myspace.com/n.t.drummer. I gig with them and record with them. I recomend them to any one who wants a great kit for a great price.

Awesome kit. Great quality sound and value for money. They looks great. Skins and cymbals are arwe of good quality for beginners, just a tune up and and they'll sound like a pearl vision.

Have played - including professionally - for more than 35 years and Tama Rockstar is a fantastic set of drums for the money. Really never considered owning a Tama before as I played top-of-the-line Gretsch and Pearl for 25+ years.
When looking for another new set a few years ago, I had a custom set of Pearls on the radar, until I visited another store and this beauty was showcased.
The workmanship is second to none and with a good set of replacement heads, this set really does a great job considering the price.

Everything about this kit is wicked good for a beginner kit. I've played some pro kits and i can still get a better sound out of my tama rockstar. all you need is some quality heads and good tuning and your good to go. definitely THE kit to start out with.
