I Reviewed The Lobster 485 Mobile Phone 9 Months A
I reviewed the Lobster 485 mobile phone 9 months ago, and I am still very impressed. If you want Bluetooth, video capture and downloads etc., then look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for a fashionable, bright, lively, small, reliable little mobile phone, full of surprises, then this is ace!
The features are endless! I am still finding functions I never knew existed on this phone nine months after purchasing it!

I Was A Little Dubious About Paying Only £50
I was a little dubious about paying only £50 for a flip camera phone, but the Lobster 485 mobile phone is a beauty. An extensive user manual helps you with everything you need, and the plus points are endless. Flip top, easy to use camera, outer and inner screens for caller ID, handsfree set, and picture messaging. I particularly like the text reminder which prompts you every couple of minutes if you miss an incoming message.
I have never paid more than £50 for a mobile phone and don't intend to, but as value for money goes, this is unbeatable!

I Bought My Reconditioned Lobster 485 Mobile Phone
I bought my reconditioned Lobster 485 mobile phone online from Virgin Mobile for only £29.99 with free delivery. It arrived within 24 hours! I was so impressed with my phone, I just wanted to show it off to all my friends. They couldn't believe the size. It has a great colour screen. It sends picture messages, and it connects to the internet. All for under £30! What more can I say? A brilliant little phone!

The Lobster 485 Is A Very Good Small Mobile Phone
The Lobster 485 is a very good small mobile phone with lots of plus points, but the size is very small, and the screen could be too small for some people to see if they can't see close images!

Clearly It's My Own Fault For Buying A Phone For B
Clearly it's my own fault for buying a phone for basically £29.99 once you take off all the free airtime etc. that I got with it. There is a reason the Lobster 485 mobile phone is so cheap. I had to send one back - which Virgin were very helpful about - because it wouldn't send picture messages, and I got a replacement. Although for the money it may seem as though this phone does a lot, having a camera and colour screen, it fails to function effectively as a phone. The sound quality is terrible, and that's when you can actually connect in the first place, which is rare. I tend to receive text messages about two hours after they are sent - Virgin does not have the greatest reception to begin with, but my mum is on Virgin and has a Nokia phone, and she always has better coverage than I do with the Lobster.
If you are thinking of buying one of these - please reconsider. For a bit more money on a more reliable brand of phone you would get a lot better quality. The Lobster is flimsy, unreliable and disappointing - I got what I paid for.
Well, all I can say is that you must have a faulty Lobster 485 mobile phone, especially in the sound department.
My 485 call quality and receive is excellent. In fact for such a small phone, I'd say that the earpiece volume is loud and clear, compared to some other brands.
Although I now use a contract phone, I have kept my 485 as a reserve.
The reason that the 485 caught my eye, was size, price, and at the time features which were on par with most phones in its price bracket.
Of course the 485 has its plus and negative points, but what I don't understand, is why people need a phone for things other than making calls or sending texts.
The market is obviously providing more and more needless gimmicks to entice teenagers.
Don't get me wrong, I too like to keep up with technological advances, but one has to be realistic in the end, the choice is there for all to take.

I Have Had The Lobster 485 Mobile Phone For About
I have had the Lobster 485 mobile phone for about 2 months and the battery clip just fell out into my hand. "It is totally unfixable" say the Virgin mobile shops, and all other phone repairers have said that they see the problem all the time and can't do anything other than stick it down with sellotape. SELLOTAPE!! What kind of solution is that??? SELLOTAPE? It's not covered on the warranty, and they won't even cover the cost of a roll of tape, so that I can use it to stick it down.
I have been with Virgin for over 3 years, and I would never have expected this, even from them, who I've had awful service from in the past.
If something can't be fixed and it's a design fault, as this CLEARLY is, then I should be compensated, either with a new phone or my money back.
When this is sorted I'm never going back to Virgin ever again.
Well with me it was a different story. I have had the Lobster 485 mobile phone for 18 months, and I have had it replaced 5 times by Virgin mobile. I have just told them that the screen isn't working and they replace it. Just ring them up!!

The Lobster 485 Is One Of The Smallest On The Mark
The Lobster 485 is one of the smallest on the market, exclusive to Virgin there are great offers.
Both the screens are razor sharp beautys and make the pictures seem great quality, the camera is not high spec though. However there is no software so it has to stay on the phone, one of the main reasons I choose the Siemens SF65 and my brother is the main user of the Lobster.
It's size is so small its has fallen out of pockets on many ocassions, nearly falling into the hands of UCI and bus drivers.
But for the price you can't go wrong, just attach it carefully!!!

Wow! The Lobster 485 Mobile Phone Is A Great Phone
WOW! The Lobster 485 mobile phone is a great phone! I got it from Virgin Mobile online, for only £39.99, and that included £20 airtime! So, I had basically only paid £19.99 for a colour screen, camera phone!
I am very pleased with this phone, and would recommend it to anyone! If only I could find the 2 games that Virgin says it has.
PACMAN - Java - Downloads - (*midpman) - options - launch. (Menu 8, then 1, then 'midpman)
OTHELLO - Menu - Applications - Othello. (Menu 7, then 1)
Had this phone a month and just found pacman yesterday. Enjoy.
Have a trick which turns pc into web server, so you can transfer downloaded games from computer, thru wap on moby.
When I get home later, will post it on here.
Apparently, you can use the unlock cables to transfer data too, if you want, as no one seems to do a download cable so far that I have found. Been looking for a month. Maybe in the wrong places !!!

This Little And I Mean Little Mobile Phone Is A Re
This little and I mean little mobile phone is a real wonder and a real bargain (a follow up to the horrendous ugly Virgin micro snapper).
The phone has a 262,000 Colour internal display which is bright and cheerful and so is the outer 65,000 colour display.
Built in VGA Camera, MMS, SMS, Organiser, 40 Tone Polyphonics (far superior to the Siemens 65 Series phones and the Ericsson K500 Polyphonic Tones). The phone is very similar to a Samsung or an LG but not the price and what you get from the phone.
This is apparently the first in a new range of lobster phones to hit the high street under the Virgin label and one i can highly reccomend (very unusual little phone, very small and lightweight and even with the little aerial).

I Got The Lobster 485 Phone Reconditioned From Vir
I got the Lobster 485 phone reconditioned from Virgin at £39.99 with £15 free air time. Bargain.
I love the twin screens and that alot of more expensive phones havent got a colour outer screen.
The camera is really good, the effects are interesting and the ability to switch between main and sub screen for portraits is useful.
It is easy to use and the battery life isnt too bad.
It looks good with the LED blob which sets it apart a little.
One thing against this phone is there are no downloads yet for it esp games for which there are none on the virgin site. Though if they release more phones by Bellwave there should be some more.
I had to fight with Virgin to get the £15 free air time as they didnt recognise it though it clearly stated it on the website. And their customer service sucks.
Thanks
www.m-99.co.uk, www.ebay.co.uk. ebay do wallchargers and car chargers for max £4 (including postage)
m-99 do everything else. - covers, handsfree, accessories set, combination car/home charger, us and europe adapters, signal booster, batteries, and other stuff I have no doubt forgotten, all for less than £10 each.
I am an unbiased customer. I have nothing to do with either of these organisations, just found them whilst looking for accessories for my phone.
Cheers.
