If I could score the service lower I would. The service was utterly appalling. The staff seemed upset that you were there when they acknowledged our table. Most of the time they ignored us. The food doesn't mean anything when the service is so bad. Do not waste your hard earned money and do not waste your time. Your money is better spent elsewhere where the staff at least look glad for customers. Awful!

The food was okay. The toilets were vile. The service was the worst ever. Absolutely awful. The worst place I have ever had food. And i go out weekly for food.

It was a friend's birthday so we booked a table at La Spaghettata, when we arrived they told us that we had not booked and would have to wait until our whole party arrived, they made us stand in the corridor by the toilets leading into the kitchen for almost an hour despite them knowing how many people were in our party and made us wait even after our party had arrived.

Annoyed and when our friend arrived we complained and were essentially accused of lying about booking our table and shown the booking schedule. They did not apologise for their mistake, even after my friend showed them her phone call log to prove that we had rung. Went elsewhere. It was awful.

We have been eating here for many years. The food is the best you can get, it's great value for money. The staff are very friendly and the service very quick.
Overall we dont ever take for granted how lucky we are to live so close to a fine italian resaurant like this.

Waiters were arrogant and we were left waiting for long periods of time between courses.

I have been to La Spaghettata, Durham twice. The food is not the BEST Italian food but if you mix in great pizza with decent pasta and canny Pollo dishes accompanied by fab service and a fun lively atmosphere, then you will see why it is so popular, often with queues at the door.

What I liked.
1. the food, it's pretty good
2. the service, it's very good
3. the atmosphere, it's great too
4. the price, really good

What I didn't like
1. the plastic table cloths, but that said... well who cares

La Spaghettata is dreadful!!!! Took friends visiting us on a Sunday arrived at 1.20pm told to hurry up as they shut at 2pm! Shame they hadn't mentioned this when we got there had to leave sweet and coffee...the mans face was furious and food ...well you can buy these pizza's in sainburys...2 for £3!

A very disappointing birthday night out at La Spaghettata, Durham.

Extremely friendly staff and great location. Unbelievably cheap compared to the likes of others, and there is no difference in the quality and taste of food, infact you get much bigger portions at la spaghettata and a free salad bowl.

After my first visit to this restaurant over 4 years ago, I told many friends about the quality and price. Since then I have converted all of them and they regularly visit. Every time I go it is jam packed full, proving that it is very popular.

Excellent service but the food is awful! I had seafood pasta in a tomato and cream sauce. No kid it tasted like alphabet spaghetti out of a tin and there was no seafood in it! The pizza's looked better, would try that if I was to go back.

It is cheap, and if you are not that bothered about the food it would be fine, as the atmosphere was great. I have never had a pizza so bad I haven't eaten it before! My boyfriend had pasta, and the pasta sauce was awful, tasted like it had been made using cream of tomato soup as a base for the sauce! The "free" salad bar was no better, poor quality salad with only the option of thousand island dressing. I certainly would not go back.
