visually perfect matches all new decor however its a rug you cant avoid it you have to walk on it everytime either of us walk across it it comes up with lumps and bumps and even though i purchased a anti slip mat it still rides up. I seem to spend most of the time straightening it up again. My elderly husband has decided its a no go area hes frightened of falling over it. Looks like its going to the back bedroom and as the rug was £499.00 and the antislip mat was £25.00 it was a very expensive mistake. Moral of the story dont just buy for the look of the item make sure its fit for purpose.

As always we prefer to shop at HU. Most of our furniture is from the store. The quality is excellent. The staff in store are so knowledgeable and friendly. The delivery people are always careful when delivering any furniture, they leave the house tidy. When in store we nearly always use the cafe/restaurant, we even took our friends from the North East there for something to eat and they loved the store. We will continue buying from HU because you know you are getting quality goods.

We purchased a £7000 leather suite, when it arrived it came with 4 faults, 3 of which the manufacturer deemed as serious. After mistake after mistake waiting for a repair we decided to reject it and ask for our money back. HU initially refused and tried to blame the manufacturer, the manufacturer blamed HU. Eventually they offered to replace the suite with any other of equal value in store. We didn’t want any other so we asked for our suite to be replaced like for like. Bizarrely the general manager refused this and refused to refund us! A threat of court action and we eventually received a refund, went elsewhere and got the same suite in a better deal :)

The sofas are well made and arrived extremely well wrapped in heavy duty polythene. Bought from housing Units and delivered to Cornwall. I have family living in Lancaster that have now visited the store. A gem of a place tucked away.

We bought these chairs for the kitchen diner of our new house. We were able to try them out in the store with a very helpful and knowledgeable member of staff showing us all the chairs features. They were delivered carefully and efficiently by their own delivery drivers. They are now the most comfortable chairs in the house and elicit complements from everyone who has seen and sat in them.

spent 1700 pound for marble fireplace and electric fire. Extra 80 pound for Housing Units specialist in house delivery team. This team dropped the marble fire surround on my carpet making a hole. HU said it was the responsibility of their sub contractor. Both have failed to resolve this issue, ignoring the problem since mid March. Specialist Delivery Team are sub contractors. No mention of this when I paid £80 for their specialist in house team.

Guys arrived on time. Very friendly and helpful. Got the dining table built up in no time. Unfortunately there had been a slight mix up at the warehouse and the chairs hadn’t been loaded on the wagon. The guys made a call and chairs were delivered the same afternoon. What more can you ask for. Would recommend and will certainly use again. Thanks

I ordered a sideboard which came only after 2 months which was relatively quicker than expected. The sideboard is lovely and goes perfectly in my living room. I did struggle with some of the assembly. The screw holes for one side of the leg brackets did not match to the bar and the handles were a bit difficult too. Other than that the furniture piece is great.

I love everything about my chairs, they are excellent quality, comfortable and I love the lion knockers,lovely soft velvet, they look great in my dining area. Only slight thing i didn't like they are slightly lower than my last dining chairs for me , but I'm only small , but OK for everyone else.

Today I got tricked £750 from a company that I thought was trustworthy and reliable. 12 weeks ago I ordered the dining table pictured, I thought it was a steal of a deal because it was half price at £750 and it was using real oak. After 3 months of patiently waiting for my dining table, they delivered my package in one huge box, they never told me it was going to come in two boxes, this was never communicated by email and the delivery driver didn't say anything either. The delivery driver said to sign two forms and never explained that there were meant to be in two boxes. Me thinking it was in one box, stupidly signed it. Later that evening I opened the box and discovered the legs were missing, I thought "not to worry, I'm sure if I email them they'll send me my dining table legs ASAP" To my surprise and utter dismay, the customer service team emailed me back (picture of the email attached) saying because I signed the two forms, they cannot send me over the legs or give me a refund. I rang them after pleading to give me my money back and they refused. I had two witnesses with me that can state only one box was delivered and not two, also Housing units can't even send me pictures of proof saying that the two boxes were delivered. They're simply taking the word of mouth over the driver's over mine and refuse to send me my legs or give me a refund. I am completely and utterly heartbroken that I've lost £750, all I have is a plank of wood to show for it.I can say hand on heart this is the most despicable company that I've ever come across. I would say avoid at all costs unless you want to get tricked like I have.

We purchased a dining room table and fours chairs on the 7 April 2018 with and expected delivery date of 21 June 2018 this was not met. Part delivered on 12 July, 2018 one chair was missing. On examination of the chairs all 3 had a fault which was not acceptable. I contacted the store who said they would send 4 more chairs the following day and collect the faulty ones. This they did but the chairs where not what we had ordered. In the meantime I had also noticed damaged to the table. I rang the store again to be told the manufacturer had changed the design. I told them to collect their goods and asked for a full refund, this I got. Extremely disappointed as Housing Units are supposed to be renown for quality, well not in this case we are disgusted that they would send such poor quality out and we would not shop there again nor would we recommend them under any circumstances.

Tried to exchange a product that I didn't want. Because they use DPD, who employ drivers who can't find the property (we live on an A Road) we are expected to free up 2 days for this. Even through the local driver couldn't be bothered to show up and its their problem. I am stuck with a product I don't want.

I bought a marble lamp table from Housing Units and was underwhelmed to collect it as a 2 part flat-pack, something i wasn't informed about at the time of purchase and comparable to something you'd buy from IKEA. Once unpacked there was damage to the frame and pieces missing from the pack. I called Housing Units to resolve my issue and the best they could offer was to collect the item for an exchange, but the nearest available time to collect was two weeks from the date of complaint. Unacceptable in my opinion. I travelled 30 miles out of my way the following day to return the item for an exchange, where the Customer Care Team didn't even have the decency to come out and speak to me. Instead they relayed a sorry, this is unacceptable message through the Warehouse Manager, who informed me the Customer Care Team would call me the following day. No call the following day - so i called them. The person I dealt with from the Customer Care Team was rude and flippant as if to say you've had your exchange what do you want us to do? Well an apology would have been a start and might have gone some way to avoiding this negative review. This person also didn't seem to grasp the Customer Care part of her role and was unhelpful when asking what the complaints procedure was at Housing Units. So all-in-all flat pack product sold at 10 times the price of IKEA with rubbish Customer Care.

My wife and I have spent over £10,000 at Housing Units in the last few months. And the service was OK. But we then bought an ex demo unit and paid for it, only to have it damaged apparently by the warehouse prior to delivery. The service from there went pear shaped. No apology. No offer to get it sorted. Basically the customer care team didn't give a damn. My wife was disappointed, and we decided to visit John Lewis's at the Trafford Centre, and by chance saw another piece of furniture that would do a good job. Not only was it a LOT cheaper, but what a difference in shopping experience. John Lewis cannot do enough for you. Brilliant service from the staff on the floor in the furniture department, to the arrangement for the delivery (5 days - not 5-6 weeks as per Housing Units), and the delivery arrangement and information is exceptional. It was the first time we have bought from John Lewis. And in future we will always be buying from there first. Do yourselves a favour. Shop at John Lewis first before then going to Housing Units, you wont be disappointed.

trawled the internet for a good price on these luxury pillows (by appointment to her majesty} best price I could find was £55 per pillow until I came upon Housing Units of Hollinwood which sold them at the unbelievable price of £47, ordered two of these with free delivery which arrived the next day. bought 4 bar stools with a metal strip around the top, as soon as they touched the breakfast bar they marked, the metal (well it probably isn't metal) was so soft that they looked scratched, sent photographs over to Housing units who were polite and reasonably attentive but advised that it was because I had a granite worktop, surely most breakfast bars are solid? my response is that rotating bar stools that mark on impact with a breakfast bar are not fit for purpose, Housing units politely I must say disagreed, I could have saved a lot of money buying from eBay or discount retailer but perhaps mistakenly thought buying from Housing units provided a guarantee of quality and service, in this instance the quality is lacking and Housing Units response is poor.
