Laganas, Savvas Studios

Before coming to the Savvas, me and my friends were apprehensive to say the least. After booking, we had looked at many other reviews and although there were many good ones, a lot of bad reviews were also on websites. I was expecting to arrive at a farm in the middle of nowhere, where i would have to haul my luggage up a "dirt track" and stay in prehistoric conditions. What a pleasant suprise Savvas Studios turned out to be!

The rooms are all you need, the staff amazing, a great location, just two minutes from a supermarket and clubs, not too close to be up all night with the noise. Around 10 minutes from the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Great value for money, lots to do and in an amazing location! All your concerns are dealt with immediately by the staff. The cold showers are the only downside although can also be refreshing after a day in the Zante sun!

savvas studios was the best place i have ever stayed , at if u wana go to zante for a non stop party book into the savvas, the pool bar is quality with loadsa drinking games clarkie and dave behind the bar top geezas loadsa free drinks and shots day and nyt. dana the owner of the hotel is hilarious, and the banter was just non stop for 2 weeks. barbecue nyt on the tuesday is recomended all u can eat and a free bar for 3 hours with loads of drinking games and entertainment. the pools decent with a slide . quality place to plot during the day. savvas has a buzzing atmosphere 24 .7 if you like ur sleep i probablly wouldnt recomend it, itas about 5 muinite walk from the main clubs and 10 minuite walk to the beach. definately going back next year couldnt fink of anywhere better to go for a lads holiday. pukka

This place was recommended to us by a friends brother ! We booked it for 6 of us and we never looked back ! We read all these negative reviews and to be honest they couldn't be more wrong! I think they are all expecting too much from the Greek studio apartments. Savvas is cheap and its so so so so good for your money there was nothing cheap about the place it just gave us the best holiday ever! All you really needed was a room to crash in because when your at a place as amazing as Laganas why the hell would you want to sit in your room! Its clean no matter what you read our room was cleaned 4 times in 1 week! And the pool was cleaned by a guy who worked there for 2 hours ever night and was always thorough! We were so happy to be staying in the Savvas and we will be back there again, we just hope nothing changes coz this place is perfect!

Arrived at Savvas and had to drag our 26kg cases up a big dirty rough dirt track (while getting blisters) to a reception where we waited ages for a room key! We were told that our room was still being cleaned and also told that the room we were going to had been trashed the night before so you can imagine how we felt! We finally got our room key and had to drag the cases all the way back down the dirt track to our horrible room. we got into our room and thought oh my god!!! The kitchen and bathroom lights did not work, the toilet didn't flush, it stunk!!! After our first showers the shower head fell off so it was like showering with a hose pipe and all the water ran out of the door into the kitchen. We were told to report anything that broke to the reps so we did but they were useless and did nothing about any of it. So you can imagine how hard it was to shave our legs in a bathroom with no light in the pitch black. Anyway we got along then few days later had to pay 250 euros for a door!!! This was not our fault the door was obviously not fixed properly from when the room was trashed the day before. So we had to fork out 250 euros for someone else's doing which kind of ruined it for the day. We came back to the room at around 12pm from an event with 18-30 and pushed the door open and all the panels fell off. We went and got one of the bar staff who told us the repairs man was not working at this time and there's nothing he can do about it, so he expected us to go a whole night without a door!!!! Anyway he came over to our apartment and stood there laughing while our very kind friend tried to fix it as well as he could.

The sun loungers around the pool were not nice at all very uncomfy in fact and a lot were broken! To top it off the coach left without 11 of us and we had to fork out more money to get our own taxi's.

Overall we had a brilliant holiday but these apartments are awful and I wouldn't stay in them ever again!!! and 18-30 are USELESS!!!!!

Just returned from 2 weeks in Savvas Studios, was the best hoilday ever !! The bar staff were great made you feel very welcome. They were always up for a laugh. Recommend the barbecue night and free bar they aim to get you smashed lol!! Apartments are close to all the clubs and restaurants also a supermarket just across the road .. There is also a safe in all the apartments.

No air conditioning but you got use to the fan and the heat..

Savvas is great .. we had a ball and would go back next year .. Miss it already...

Well what is there not to like about the Savas it was fantastic when we went the bar staff are brilliant and go out of there way to make you feel welcome, after having a disaster at our a first hotel the Savvas managed to find room and make special arrangements to ensure we got the best possible ! Trust me both the hotel and Zante is fantastic (best to go as a group of mates !) In my opinion this is a great holiday and is fantastic for groups of friends just dont pick this hotel or well general area to go as a couple ! OK now here's the bad points all Greece accommodation is basic don't expect a shower curtain it just doesn't happen and oh you dont put toilet paper down the toilet its to go in the bin ! But the most important factor is there's no air conditioning so be prepared to pay for a fan !

Bar staff were great! Lots of fun and very friendly. Hot too! Food was great! Pool was nice and big n lots of fun on the slide! Rooms were tidied twice a week and were always spotless. All rooms in Zante are basic and not always the best. To me, what does it matter. It's a bed and somewhere to wash and shower, you make the most of it, its not the room you have really payed money for is it, its the place and then what you make it. as for people moaning about things like that, go and spend silly money and stay in the ritz, im sure you will have soooo much fun fun there surrounded by four walls and being scared to crease your sheets i personally want a fun and enjoyable holiday. Savvas accommodated that to the max!

I'm a travel agent and have just returned from the Savvas Studios in Laganas with friends. I read a lot of reviews before I went but found none of them to be true when I got there! Basic but clean apartments, fantastic atmosphere. Lively atmosphere and loads of fun.

Would definitely recommend and would go back tomorrow!

These apartments are basic, most of them are away from the main pool. All the facilities of Laganas is a very short walk away, and are good only for young people who would need no sleep at all. I felt these apartments were only suitable for people who like to party unttil the early hours, and only required somewhere to shower and rest for a short time. The pool was a dark green in colour and not in use when we arrived, the problems with the pool continued throughout our stay, so other facilities had to be found.

Savvas Apartments in Zakynthos were amazing value for money. It was clean and the staff are really friendly. The pictures of the pool are a little deceiving, BUT it is does have 2 main pools that were always clean and right next to the bar. The food is also really good value. Savvas also provides nights at the pool bar, such as the Greek Taverna night and a BBQ night, as well as a pub crawl.

The rooms are basic, but they have everything you need. I would advise you to go straight to reception and get yourself a fan for the duration of your holiday. They are around 10 Euros for the week.

Laganas is fab! It has lots to do in the day time (various trips) if you are not into sunbathing, and the food is amazing. The best day trips we had were the day at the Water Village (a water park), which was well worth the money. Also, the scuba diving experience was amazing! It is quite expensive, but I would definitely recommend it (also the scuba diving is at St Nicolas beach, which is where you can also do lots of water sports, which you can not do at Laganas beach because of the protected species of turtle).

The nightlife? Well what can I say? There are so many great bars that a week was not long enough to go in them all! My favourite was Cocktails and Dreams and the Pink Panther, and the karaoke was a good laugh. Basically, there is a bar or club about every 2 steps down the main strip, so you won't be stuck for somewhere to go in the evening.

My only real complaint about Laganas was the heat. We went to Laganas towards the end of June and it was boiling. We went on various trips around the Island, and Laganas was definitely the hottest. Also the airport. Laganas airport is being renovated, BUT the at the time we went (19/06/06) it is basically one big room with hundreds of people waiting for their flights, but it was air conditioned which was a blessing, and the food was so expensive, so make sure you eat before you go or take something with you.
