Terrible customer service. I hired a car for America and received the worst possible experience at the ‘Dollar car hire desk’ you could ever imagine. The experience ruined our holiday. I took my complaint to Argus car hire, as it is them who I took out the car hire with and who I paid my money to. They did nothing themselves or offer any financial reimbursement, they simply acted as a go between, between us and Dollar. This is not good enough and I won’t be booking with Argus again and would seriously consider booking through a third party again, they simply don’t want to know if something goes wrong.

Booked a car for Ireland (IE782684020.) Happy to pay a litttle extra as the Argus website and voucher quoted a security deposit of only €2000 and the car could be driven into Northern Ireland with no restrictions. On arrival at Knock Airport the rental company would not release the car without a €3000 security deposit and wanted to charge extra for taking the car into Northern Ireland. Argus make it very difficult to raise a complaint. First giving me an incorrect email address then keeping me on chat for over an hour before accepting my complaint and giving me an email link. They then took weeks trying to blame the rental company before finally apologising and admitting there was a mistake with their terms and conditions. That mistake cost me about €30, and a lot of embarrassment at the airport, but they are refusing to compensate me for this. Not an honourable company.

Our flight was delayed and diverted so we were not able to collect our car. When we tried to change the pick up location with the same car hire company we were asked to pay more than double our original booking. We decided not to bother with the car hire at all. We asked for a refund or partial refund but were told that because we didn't let them know before pick up time we weren't entitled to any refund. Of course we didn't let them know before pick up time we were on a diverted flight. I won't be using them again.

Easy to find office close to arrivals. Perfect and pleasant service. Car with low mileage, clean, in perfect condition. Easy return using the automatic machine.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! we arrived in Portugal last night to collect our car after bookingwith Argus. After speaking on webchat about the premium insurance and argus confirming it covers you like fullu comp we went for it for piece of mind. Arriving at goldcar we were told the insurance isn't worth the paper it's written on and covers the roof and underneath of the car! I called argus and was told they cannot refund the policy even though I was standing at the desk and had not claimed the car! I asked for a manager and as of you no one has had the decency to respond. We had to pay 150 euros insurance then and extra couple of payments due to the highways in Portugal. Overall we were slapped with a 490 euro bill as we landed. It got to 10pm and no call and we were stranded. We had no choice but to pay and take the car. I went on webchat this morning with Mohammad and was told as I took the car he wouldn't refund the Insurance. I explained I called from the desk and was waiting for a manager and he locked the chat off so I couldn't respond.the most despicable company that are ready to ruin holidays by their misleading acts to make money. I will be reporting them.

Be careful with this company , they can take your money . They can get your money , but if something is wrong , they will take advantage and never return your money . I lost 350 USD and they found an excuse to keep it . Read carefully all the contact and if you can find alternatives , go for it .

Definitely not recommended. The local car rental at Montenegro Tivat Airport charged horrendous sums for additional insurance, although we already had insurance, so we contacted the customer service of Argus Car hire, through which we had previously booked the car. As there was no cooperation between the two, Argus Care Hire advised us not to accept the booking and opened a case with the promise we would get the money back. Afterwards, this statement was revoked and it was insinuated that we were not able to pay and that it was our own fault. A number of documents were demanded with which we were supposed to prove the opposite. We have not received a refund to this day.

BEWARE!!! This company are not to be trusted, I hired a car through them in Croatia. Hire car company weren’t at arrivals to meet us as promised so went to office which was shut, called numbers given to me, no answer. I contacted this company through email, nothing! Contacted Argus to tell them about this and they have refused my refund even though they know this company have done this to many others. Terrible customer service. Absolute rip off. DO NOT USE!!!

Booked via Argus as used before in Italy with no issue. We were driven to a different place than where we would usually collect a hire car in Bergamo. The company Argus used was SURPRICE. AVOID AVOID AVOID. Stood in queue whilst another couple complained and didn’t get their car and lost their payment and were rudely told there was nothing could be done. SURPRICE staff TELL YOU YOU NEED TO PAY ANOTHER €400+ on top of your booking for insurance, VERY HARD SELL arrogant staff. They said they were going to take €1000 deposit and a further €2400 excess for up to 4 weeks if I didn’t pay the €400+ euros. Tried to get us to use a debit card to do this. We Refused. Do not trust them with your personal information! We did not go ahead. Complained to Argus and guess what?. No refund they don’t care about customer service or about the companies they use! Don’t use them. Lots of car hire companies try to sell you insurance but not by lying and hard sell tactics like these!

The VW transporter was a fantastic vehicle to fit 7 passengers in. We explored the island and it was efficient on fuel.

BEWARE - DON’T USE. If collecting your rental past 10pm there is nobody there to collect your car from and Argus Car Hire will cancel you with no refund. The out of hours number they supply nobody picks up. I called the number for the desk from 2pm the day before to correct the time a total of 8x times and nobody answers. I was stranded at 3am with no car in Milan and costed me hundreds in taxis and new car hire. Argus Car Hire won’t refund me as I booked the car for collection 10 minutes earlier than my flight landed”. Can you believe it?! No grace period even and they do not track your flight number for time changes, they just want to take your money. The ‘out of hours picks up’ is a sham, nobody will be there - all rental desks are closed and they leave you stranded with no refund or alternative e.g. collecting the next day. SO SO bad. Nightmare, and ruined our holiday as was out of money straight away. There is no reasoning with the customer services team, they take pleasure in taking your money referring you to small print.

Argus provided a very competitive quote and a link to excess insurance which was much more economical than that offered by Budget. I printed the voucher and had it on my phone but the car hire company already had the details when I arrived. Reminders for what documentation to take were helpful.

Selected the car based on good value and selection. Pickup from the airport was prompt and per the guidance in the booking. Waited a small time to get collect the car but this was understandable given the paperwork requiring completion. Car was in good condition and as per expectations in terms of space for people and luggage. Return process was very simple and hassle free. Would definitely recommend Klass Wagen for anyone renting a car.
