I used to see the trailers for this show. Trailers of course show viewers the 'funny bits'. These 'funny bits' were about as delightful as your car breaking down on Mount Snowdon in December dressed in a bikini and no phone signal. So, when the programme started i would race to the TV set to stop this show radiating from my gogglebox.

The big question is: Is Dinnerladies the worst ever British tv comedy series?
The acting is either way over the top (Julie Walters) or non-existent (Victoria Wood); the situations are clumsily contrived; the characterisation is cartoonish.
One good thing though - it lasted only two series, and I hope that this was because of writers block / embarrassment.

Why is Dinnerladies this under the comedy section?

I will no longer give anything created, written or starring Victoria Wood the time of day again as this show is rubbish. There is something about Victoria Wood I can't stomach, the woman makes my skin crawl. Avoid her at all costs. I did actually write a letter of complaint to the BBC enquiring about any possibility of a refund on my licensce fee. No reply. Bad crack.

I agree Micky. And Dinnerladies never appealed to me.

I don't condone violence against women, but there is something about Victoria Wood's face which makes me want to punch it. The BBC should erase all master copies of her work as it is all rubbish. My worst nightmare would involve being incarcerated with a indestructible television constantly tuned into the Victoria Wood Channel. A truly horrific scenario.

All Comedies have the right not to be funny but Dinnerladies abuses the privilege. It really has to be the unfunniest TV comedy ever. I cannot believe it was ever made, I'm even more amazed they made a second series, and I am still further amazed that it is on every time I flick over to UK Gold. I've never been a big Victoria Wood fan, but could see why people liked her but this is just rubbish in the extreme, could anyone please tell me what they see in this program?

Dinnerladies makes The Vicar of Dibley look good, and I detest that programme!
<br/>I'm sure Dinnerladies violates some human rights laws.
