Not A Good Site For Camping

We paid for a "super" pitch. It was big but there were cigarette butts everywhere and a chemical loo disposal point in the middle of it. The soil is thin (cliff top) so it's difficult to get the tent pegs in. There aren't any lights around the site and the loo/shower block was the other side of the facilities. The loos in the bar and by the swimming pool were dirty and run-down. There were lots of empty pitches and chalets and we could see why. The whole place needs some money investing in it if they want to continue charging so much. We've camped in lots of cheaper and much nicer sites.

I Agree With One Other Comment About The State Of

I agree with one other comment about the state of the park and the staff are unfriendly but we stayed at no 47 and have to say that this lodge is amazing. We found the owners telephone number in the welcome pack and they could not do enough for us. They brought us some extra milk when they visited us and we very helpful with directions and activities in the area. The Eden project is a brilliant day out and much better than we expected. We are returining to the park later this year and are staying in no.47

I think the only downside for us is that we did not know which lodges we could choose from when we made our booking with Hoeseasons.I guess we were lucky. I have given the high rating for the lodge we stayed at and not the park itself.

We Were Fortunate Enough To Have Picked One Of The

We were fortunate enough to have picked one of the few good weather windows to be at Whitsand Bay Lodge Park this year so our holiday was great. The lodge was lovely with all mod cons, nice and clean and with a beautiful view over to dartmoor. It was nice that the cars were parked away from the lodge so there was no noise or headlights to disturb us at night. The climb down the cliff to the beach was quite hard but the fantastic sea views and the glorious beach at the bottom well worth the climb. We will be back again as soon as we can.

We would like to have known more about what hostelries were nearby as they do seem few and far between. However, those we visited like the the pubs and Hotel in Cawsand were fine.

Stayed At Whitsand Bay Lodges With Hoseason In Aug

Stayed at Whitsand Bay Lodges with Hoseason in August 2009. The lodge was dirty when we arrived and also unsafe, the shower door fell off hitting our son on the head 5 mins after we arrived in the property. The dishwasher broke down and the gas safety certificate had expired. Nobody helped or apologised for the problems we had had. The park itself has seen better days and the the pool and bar area were tired and run down. Would definately NOT recommend for a holiday.

Our Holiday At Whitsand Bay This Year (summer 2009

Our holiday at Whitsand Bay this year (summer 2009) was the worst holiday ever. The lodge was beautiful but nothing worked, door locks, toilets, ensuite shower all did not work plus the lodge had not been cleaned when we arrived. To make matters worse, nobody helped us until two days before we were due to come home after a week's holiday, nobody wanted to know and some staff avoided us for days. We were insulted by a letter fixed on our lodge door reminding us we needed to pay for the "damage". We are still awaiting a letter from the staff apologising and a refund of our deposit. The beach is down a very steep cliff not accessible for buggies and not a 10 minute walk as described. Steer clear!
