It was easy to use and to pair with my Razor phone. I liked the fact that I can answer my phone by pressing a button on the side of the headset which was easy to find without looking.

“The Jabra JX10 is one of those items that are bought...”

★★★★☆

written by khas01 on 19/05/2007

The Jabra JX10 is one of those items that are bought on looks. Form over function. Bluetooth headsets are getting smaller and lighter these days, and at 10 g this is no exception. However, this headset is aesthetically very pleasing, with a clean and uncluttered design. It is so small that others may not realise you are wearing one. They will probably stand back a couple of feet thinking you are mad!

It comes beautifully presented in a black box, complete with charger and desk stand. It is very Bang & Olufsen in shape and would look good on any desk. After charging it up, pairing is very easy with the mobile phone and you are good to go.

The unit has four buttons on it. The top one to answer and hang up, on the back 2 very small buttons that are volume control and a inner recessed button for pairing.

In use the volume buttons are very small and fiddly to use, and in a right handed configuration the volume up button is at the bottom. Not exactly innate, but better for left handed people.

Accepting and hanging up calls is very easy with a single button. This also activates voice dialling if supported by phone, and again is easy and reliable to use; even in noisy environments.

The volume of sound out of the headset is a bit weedy. It can be improved by pushing the headset hard against the ear; however, then comfort levels suffer. This is mainly a problem in noisy places, like the car!

A note about charging. Occasionally, after charging the headset may become unresponsive with the light on with a green glow. It needs to be reset and it is not obvious how to do this. After some searching I discovered the way to do it is to reattach it to the charger and disconnect it after 5 seconds. Hey presto, back in action.

The battery life is amazing for something so tiny, with long stand by and talk times. Also bundled with the package is a USB charger, which lives in a neat black suede effect pouch. Again it gives options for ensuring charging is always available.

Would I recommend this. I think a qualified yes. For most of us, and especially the vainer ones, it is a good buy. Just don't pay the RRP of around £100 for it. Many places have it for around half that. If you are a road warrior and will be using it 24/7, then comfort issues may arise which can become annoying

I think that's a thumbs up for the diminutive JX10.

★★☆☆☆

The JX10 is about my 5th headset. Generally it is disappointing, the poor quality sound for the person you are calling, especially in noisy environments such as the car makes the headset un-useable. It is far worse than my proceeding Jabra BT350 (now sadly discontinued) and about twice the price. The headset does look good and is light and comfortable, good enough for all day wear. The battery is not however, as it is substantially worse than the BT250V I also have. Expect about 6 to 8 hours use between charges with medium use.

As a techie myself I always look for the practical aspects of devices. To me the most important issue is sound quality and this headset is the best. People hear me very well and vice versa. It is tiny yet easy to manage with your fingers. the button placement is absolutely intuitively perfect. I needed to transfer a call to my technology hating brother and even he used it without any trouble and he loved it! it looks great and charges very quickly. This is a one charge a day device. The device does NOT hinder hearing when in your ear. Single LED light is very pleasant and easily understood. Red = charging, Green = fully charged, blinking Blue = ready to use.

“Purchased my Jabra JX10 in Oct 2006. After many hours...”

★★★★★

written by paradise on 11/10/2006

Purchased my Jabra JX10 in Oct 2006. After many hours searching reviews on the Internet for a Bluetooth headset, I finally decided upon the Jabra JX10, and so glad I did. I cannot recommend this Bluetooth Headset enough. It's sleek compact design makes it amongst the smallest lightest Bluetooth Headset on the market. Weighing in at under 10 grams (1/3 oz), and less than 4 cm (1 inches) in length, you'll hardly notice you're wearing it. Can be worn either with or without the very comfortable ear loop provided. I personally prefer it with the ear loop as it is so light and comfortable I often forget I'm wearing it, just a safety measure in my case as I might flick my hair and hit it out of my ear! Has automatic volume control via DSP technology, means that sound level and quality adjust to match the environment you're calling from, and background noise is significantly reduced. Fingertip control to answer/end calls and if needed, adjust volume. One-touch pairing button for pairing with your phone, so easy to set up. Muti-coloured light indicator (LED) for status on Bluetooth, battery and charging. Has up to 6 hours talk-time and up to 200 hours standby. A very elegant desktop charging cradle is also included in the box, as is a USB cable to charge your Bluetooth from your computer. You can purchase an in-car charger for around £7.95 or have a look on eBay. Comes in very stylish packaging with a handy velvet pouch to keep it in. Also includes a mains electrical charger.

Don't be put off with any reviews stating about the ear loop. Yes, it is a little flimsy and could break/snap if you're heavy handed with it. Just be careful you're not. (You can purchase extra loops.) Also, when you come to charge it I would be careful when plugging it into the charger as it is so light you don't want to snap the charging part of it. Don't let this put you off, I cannot sing the praises of this stylish Bluetooth Headset enough. Perfect for men and women. Just remember, it's so light and comfortable you'll forget you're wearing it.

I purchased mine online as I saved £50 from High Street retailers from a reliable company based in Birmingham called www.mobilefun.co.uk. I was a little nervous purchasing from someone direct from the Internet, but they had good reviews and Jabra's website recommended them as well as a distributor. I cannot fault their service. Emailed me constantly to let me know they've received the order and completed it. On-line tracking service available for you to see the status of your order. Great prices and very reliable. If you wish to see videos and pictures of the Jabra JX10, see the website www.jabra.com and go to wireless headsets and you'll see the Jabra JX10 there. Comes in silver, black and I think one other colour, although at present the silver one which I purchased was on offer at Mobilefun for £49.95 - a stark contrast to some High Street retailer prices of £99.99 and £79.99 ! Mobilefun have a good back-up customer service should you have any queries.

At present the battery talk-time is fantastic, when talking to someone it feels like you are talking on a main landline it's so clear and so easy to use which is important for us blondes. Ideal for the businessman/woman or everyday users, very stylish, lightweight and most importantly comfortable. I would say this is aimed at the posh car user, BMW, etc. Some Bluetooths are known to hang during conversation, my hasn't. I hope this has been of some help, if like me, you are searching for the perfect Bluetooth Headset. I've found it!

I would buy another Jabra JX10 bluetooth headset. I have had others that were not as clear, and that were bulky and clumsy looking. Some of the larger ones look like you have a beetle on your head. I like the sleek style of the Jabra JX10 the most.
