Wish we had not bought the Panasonic X400. Should have a try before buy, but I guess this would reflect in a sales downturn.

Perhaps an external battery with lots of capacity would help.

Would not buy another Panasonic phone after my experience with the X400.

I love the look and feel of this phone; it is light and small enough to fit into most pockets. It has the Symbian Operating System so has been well tried and tested over the years. For simple use the functions provided are adequate enough. For a clam shell this phone is quite masculine in design and pretty close to something Mr Spock may have used.
There are a number of functions missing from the phone that would have made a vast improvement to the end user. A simple dictionary, that allows you to store unusual words when writing text messages. A diary and a to do list should really be standard functionality for mobiles, and yet they are not included here. With Bluetooth as the up and coming networking connectivity, the Panasonic X400 sadly has infrared. Overall, I love this phone simply because it is easy and light to carry around. It lacks a lot of functionality that other manufacturers include as standard, and this would be the main reason for me switching mobile.

I think the Panasonic X400 is a great phone & in general I am very happy with it. It can hold well over 200 texts & lots of photo's too. A lot of people have admired it when I've been out & about. The button to flip open is cool (very beam me up scotty). If it wasnt for a few defects I would recommend this phone to anyone but having to repeatedly press the buttons for it to register is extremely annoying especially while texting & the volume level is quite low, If you're in a pub there is no way you will hear it although the vibro alert is very good. Also no icon shows when someone leaves an answer phone message so you can't tell when you have messages, although this may be just a problem with my phone.
