Visited during the Easter Break 2008, wonderful location, with professional and efficient staff. Food to die for so well presented, full of flavour and freshness. Very good selection of wines.
Overall a fantastic place to dine.

I took my elderly father for a birthday Sunday lunch to McCoys Rooftop Restaurant this weekend, which we both thoroughly enjoyed from our welcome bellini as we sat down, to the delicious coffee & chocolates at the end.
Sunday lunch was £19.95 for three courses & also included a few canapes & amuse bouche to wet the appetite. There were four choices for each course & everything came beautifully presented, fresh & delicious.
We are both quite slow eaters and it was refreshing to just sit back & enjoy our food in an unhurried manner in beautiful surroundings. There was a wide variety of guests and a pleasant atmosphere with the tables nicely spaced & beautiful flowers.
Wine list was varied & reasonably priced with the only slight gripe being £4.50 for a bottle of water which seemed out of kilter with the overall excellent value for money.
Lovely place to while away a Sunday afternoon & fabulous panoramic views, even from the Ladies.

Well what can I say! McCoys Rooftop Restaurant must be one of the best restaurants I have eaten at out side of London. I was in Newcastle on business with a colleague and it was Friday night so the restaurant was very full. We hadn't booked but the staff were extremely accommodating said they be able to get us a table. We ordered some drinks and spent some time enjoying the views over the Tyne whist looking at the menus.
Within a few minutes we were shown to our table and I was impressed with the high levels of service despite our lack of pre-booking. We ordered a mid priced Cabernet sauvignon (£26.95), which was very good indeed, and better than similar wines I had in London that are twice the price.
For starters I had King Scallops and my colleague ordered Crab Risotto. The Scallops were excellent. So many restaurants overcook them, but these were cooked to perfection.
The main course was equally as good with my fillet steak again cooked perfectly. I asked for it rare and it came rare; again some places often overcook steak.
Overall a fantastic experience with service that is quietly efficient. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and highly recommended.

Enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Baltic, one evening during the Tall Ships event on the Quayside. The food was really good and the staff were pleasant, well informed and relaxed. The meal was excellent value with 3 courses for £35 and the total cost was less than we'd expected. Whilst we were there we noticed families (with children), groups of people and couples so I'd say it suits everyone. I'd definately recommend the restaurant and hope to go back soon.

Gateshead, British Contemporary, McCoys Rooftop Restaurant, Baltic - I took my wife to the Baltic for our wedding anniversary and neither of us were disappointed.
The staff were freindly and accomodating, the food and wine excellent.
We had a set menu and a couple of bottles of expensive wine.
The bill came to £150 but we felt it was worth every penny.
We will definitely be going back.
