I have a 2003 ttr 125 and it is good but it can be a pain some times. I have had it for 2 years and I have put almost the same amount of money into it as when I bought it. sometimes it will go like a bat out of hell but then theres times where it seems like it doesn't want to start. its an ok bike but it can be better

hey i got a ttr 125 2004 and its great. im 14 and just the right size for the bike. people my say the yz 125 is better but it all depends on what you wont. if you wont a crazy fast dirt bike and wont to race the yz 125 is your bike. if you wont to get up hills esay and trail ride the ttr is the bike for you. the only thing i hafe to say about the ttr 125 that its not as fast as most people wont it to go.

Hmmm. First of all, this Yamaha TTR 125 is my first bike; great to learn on i suppose. But a month later i am bored! The bike is too small, too slow and also very slow acceleration. I wish i got a yz 125 or some 2 stroke...
I recommend getting an 85 2stroke, e.g Rm85, cr85, yz85, as they are bigger and around the same speed but have wayyy better acceleration!

Well the bike has an awesome braking ability. I can get into 5th gear and suddenly slam the brake and do a 360 around and go again. The bike has a cool fast look to it. needs more power.........

Runs well and rides well. its a good bike on the trails and very manuverable. If u dont add some things to it it feels like its holding back also its very hard to start. the other thing is that u have to clean your carberator often

Over all the Yamaha TTR is a fun bike. Nothing like dirt biking. The suspension is great. The engine is also very reliable. Had no problem starting.

Its an ok bike the only bad thing is it sucks at starting in the cold and clutch gets hot after riding for a along time then doesn't work.

It's an OK bike for trail riders and beginners, but when you race motocross and compare this bike to them, there is nothing that comes close to the race bikes. This bike is good for beginners and if you trail ride. The motor is pretty strong for a 125 four stroke. But the suspension and forks are soft when you jump you take some hard landings.

When I got the bike in 2003 it was my first and it was very pleasing. But after the first 6 months it got borring. I clocked the 0-40 time at 9.8 seconds and the top speed at 44mph. Every time I go over a jump the shocks bottom out. The bike is good for some one under 110 pounds. I now wiegh 145 and jumps are no longer in the picture.

I have had a Yamaha TTR 125 offroad bike for about a year and a half. I was a begginer rider and this bike was an awesome match, it was an easy bike to ride and handle. I have not had any major maintenance done to it yet and it works alright. The only problem is that it was great when I first started riding but now I wish I had a bigger bike. My advice if you are buying a ttr is to consider what exacly you are going to be using it for. It's great for kids and begginers. But for guys older than 15/16 I would go for a bigger bike, you'll get tired of it quickly if you don't. And plus if your a heavier rider it will bottom out the shocks on any ramps. All in all a great bike for kids and begginers but if you plan on doing any riding above that go for a bigger bike.
