“Wholeheartedly agree with previous reviews about...”

Wholeheartedly agree with previous reviews about general quality, set-up procedure for new cartridges. Let me add: fiddly to load new cartridges.

I can't afford to run the Lexmark x2250 any longer. Off to buy new sacanner/printer tomorrow.

It is cheap in every sense of the word.

I was attracted by the price but have lived to regret not looking for better real value.

“This Lexmark X2250 printer has been a problem since...”

This Lexmark X2250 printer has been a problem since day one!! It never, ever printed photo quality prints without first cleaning and cleaning the nozzles and still they were not photo quality. I will give it a 1 cause the scanner works but it too needs improvements.

The cost for the ink cartridges is unreasonable considering it uses half of it to align the printer. Ink nozzles are now clogged to the point it doesn't work correctly and lexmark doesn't help. This is a cheap, cheap piece of equipment. Spend more money and get one that works and doesn't make money off their ink cartridges as it uses them up quickly and they are 70 dollars for both colors.

The Lexmark X2250 printer can best be described as cheap and nasty. Numerous problems with printing, ink cartridges dry up for no reason and very expensive to replace. Lexmark themselves unhelpful. Overall spend a little more and avoid Lexmark, (several of our friends agree) Most inefficient and expensive ink cartridges on the market. This is how they make their money.

“After deciding to purchase the Lexmark X2250...”

★★☆☆☆

written by aquila on 10/04/2005

After deciding to purchase the Lexmark X2250 multifunction printer instead of buying a scanner and printer separately, I wish I hadn't.
Upon installation of the included software (why oh why do manufacturers insist on using PAPER sleeves that DON'T fit in a CD rack???), I was immediately greeted by a menu that although attempted to be helpful, ended up being excessively complex due to endless menus and submenus based on tasks and troubleshooting questions. The driver software also insisted on placing an icon in my already-cluttered system tray that you can't get rid of unless you disable the driver altogether. This is also a gateway to endless unnecessary popups outlining print and scan progress (which is already covered by the host software anyway).
Sadly, after pages upon pages wasted trying to get the print heads to clean, the nozzles were permanently blocked resulting in unsatisfactory prints, making me and my business look unprofessional. What was even more confusing is the allignment of the nozzles never stayed the same for each page. On one page, the graphics looked sharp and crisp (bar the streaks caused by the blocked nozzles), yet if I printed an identical page immediately after, it would print blurry and fuzzy.
To give the unit some credit, the scanner worked reasonably well. After a few short steps needed to callibrate, the quality of the scans proved acceptable to the above-average consumer. This does not, however, redeem the unit's unsatisfactory print performance and I intend to get rid of it as soon as I can. Stay away from it!

I found this review very helpful because it describes exactly the same problems we had with our x2250 non-printer!!
